Take that picture back right now! I cry foul! As a native New Englander one of my biggest pet peeves is fucking clam strips! Where is the rest of the clam? What good is a strip? Where is the flavor? Whenever I return north for a visit I will devour as many fried clams as I can - as they were meant to be eaten - with bellies!

@mfladd Well to my surprise, a little excitement did evidently make its way into National Fried Clam Day. Unbeknownst to me, there is apparently a bitter and unresolved feud between the clam belly vs. the clam strip factions of the fried clam underworld. For the record, I can take no responsibility for any injuries that might ensue from here on out. I do, however, point out that this is all @jst1ofknd’s fault.

Is it me or do you ever wonder who the first person was that opened a clam (or an oyster) and said, “I’m going to eat that gross looking hunk of slime…” #JustIcky
@Fuzzalini Now imagine looking at a steamed clam and only seeing a piece of sliced clam inside. It wouldn’t be right, would it? So what makes it ok to mess with fried clams? It’s not OK!
