For this price, great product. I paid $75 for a pair years ago, they lasted me about 3 years of daily use. When the external cable failed they sent me a replacement for free, even though I wasn't the original owner and bought them used.
The Amazon reviews seem to mention horrendous mic quality repeatedly. Any feedback from people who bought these the first time around? Maybe @givemeyoursoul will chime in.
@bdb So as for the mic, I had the earlier pre fnatic version. It sounded fine to the people on the other end when extended. HOWEVER. Not a mic issue per se, but the cable rubbing or tapping on you transmits back through the cable into the left can. It made me crazy until I got used to it..... I mean it wasn't terrible, but my no mic Sony studio phones sure didn't do it.
@ThorsBanHammer I'm a little concerned - I want these for my Xbox One but I'm worried about the mic as I talk with my friends a lot when playing Halo...
This is an outrage! How dare they lower the price on an item i did not buy before, nor plan on buying today, and expect me not to be mad! i demand a living!
Own these, poor mic quality, also, not that great of soundstage, muffled sound quality, the low end is really weak. For the price, I think it's fair, but if you're looking for balanced headphones, these aren't it. Get the senn pc350 if you want actual sound positioning advantage.
i had another version of similar headphones from this company that mic on/off switch and volume knob over a year or two because faulty and I have now moved on to some headphones I got in a fuku, thanks again meh for saving the day! i am thinking about getting these but that crappy button/knob thing is making me have my doubts perhaps for 5 dollars?
@MrGlass im using the Gigs noise cancelling ones, i had the turtle beach ones from a fuku but they are terrible, these sounds amazing and I have other microphones I can use dont need headset one
Added a modmic to my Senny HD580's. Never going back. I thought for a moment that this might replace the USB-powered Razer headphones I got from here for my daughter, but mic quality is important for her. Meh.
After buying a few different headphones from here, I think I'm set on headphones. I wonder if the Meh community will reach full satisfied headphone status as a mass and then selling these things here will just not work.
For anybody who bought this before at a higher price, check your credit card and see if it offers a Price Protection or Price Rewind benefit. If so, you may be able to get the credit card company to pay you back the price difference.
Got these the last time they were up for $44. They've survived a lot of abuse and are comfortable enough to wear for the hours, so I think they're definitely worth the ~$20-ish. As others have said, the sound and mic quality isn't great. The mic has to practically be in my mouth (even with mic sensitivity turned up) for it to pick anything up.
Bought this last time. Right ear doesn't click together correctly so it's always disconnecting. Leaving me with sound in just one ear. It also fits very tightly and the mic isn't great. So meh.
@MILT this item was sold on 11/13, there are no more available for purchase. The answer to your question should be in the first post on this thread - which is the specs post.
Jack: 3.5mm
Or you could check out the reviews and info on the manufacturer's site or Amazon.
Why did my order get canceled?? My first time ordering from this site and I get an email saying the order was canceled w/out reason....what the heck is going on??
@rdr4lfe You should have received an email explaining this situation last night around midnight Eastern time, please check your spam filter if you don't see that. Feel free to shoot our support team a message with any questions as well: meh.com/support
@MEHcus I've sent a message. Still waiting on a reply. Seems like a really crappy service center you have here. Please excuse my language...but my good friend raves about your website, and my first order placed I won't even receive.
@rdr4lfe I'm very dissatisfied that my order also got cancelled. The compensation of "free shipping for two months on future orders" was not satisfactory. I can get all the free shipping I want from Amazon Prime, if this website can't consistently ship the orders they accept, there is no reason for me to stick around just because of free shipping.
This was my first time trying the site, and I don't think I'll give it another try.
@brhfl BestBuy does that shit every freaking holiday season. I'd be surprised if a quick conversation with Amazon CS doesn't net you a discount of some kind, though. It is fairly rare for a company to pro-actively and openly admit they made a mistake and try to make it right. That's a nice touch here and a few other places. It sucks that so many new customers got hit with this, as many of them may not stick around to see how truly rare these instances are.
@Thumperchick Thanks, I realize that Amazon CS is usually willing to throw out an appeasement bone, but I don't honestly care about what is, in reality, a minor inconvenience. My point was, as you said, meh has apparently been quite transparent about this, and proactively offered something even if they can't magically produce more headphones. Yet people act like they owe them the world…
@brhfl agereed. Amazon gives you the extra stuff nut you have to ask... also it usually is not always worth the hassle of talking to customer support... however this did suck, but not as bad as it could have been.
Received it and it sounds great IN THE ONE EAR IT WORKS
Kinda bummed. I like how they look, how they feel, but only one ear works. Contact Meh support? Or steelseries?
I would like a new pair, if possible (though it seems Meh is out), not a refurb in exchange, and not these to be fixed. Every time I have to send something in somewhere to be fixed, I get back something with more problems.
@Talidan I'd start at Steelseries to see if they can come up with a replacement. Meh will most likely only be able to offer a refund (after asking you to work with SS)
@Thumperchick Did just that. I'm really kinda bummed and surprised. I've heard good things about SteelSeries, but I don't really feel inclined to buy their stuff again, direct or from "fire-sale" sites.
I've actually had a refurbished Razer product from 1SaleADay. It stopped working about 2 weeks later and Razer still replaced it, without much fuss. I also recently purchased a Razer Blade laptop and it had an issue. Sent it in, no shipping costs, they fixed it, returned it, and it all happened within about a week and a half. Razer catches a lot of flak, but their support is amazing.
@medz I know, right? I was surprised Woot was mentioned specifically since they're really just Amazon's dumping ground now. It's a branch of a major retailer, a new product from them would be basically buying it from Amazon.

I don't even want to know what that orange fabric would look like after a few years.
Depend on how often you eat Cheetos. (And how much porn you watch?)
Game on
@AttyVette No dice
No SDF...again??
@UncleEdZed It's like they think we're sick of speaker docks. Where on Earth would they get that idea?
@UncleEdZed, @stoopkid, but these ARE speaker docks! With little speakers for your ears!
@ruouttaurmind

Mine weren't these uuuuugly Fnatic ones though.
The Amazon reviews seem to mention horrendous mic quality repeatedly. Any feedback from people who bought these the first time around?
Maybe @givemeyoursoul will chime in.
@bdb The mic's pretty terrible- the sound is clear, but it always sounds like I'm three rooms away to the people I tried to call.
@bdb I have these on my head right now, and from what I've heard it's "not abysmal." Most people don't mind the quality, which is OK enough for me.
@ThorsBanHammer I'm a little concerned - I want these for my Xbox One but I'm worried about the mic as I talk with my friends a lot when playing Halo...
So ....Let's play the game "Deadliest Catch" in honor of pirate picture shown ...
Must have been made by a "fanatic" by the look of things...
@AttyVette Fnatic is a team. Pro gaming team
@techn9ne816 I thought Fnatic was a pro gaming team with dyslexia. 😉
"Just keep in mind: no refunds if we sell it tomorrow for less. We probably won't. But don't tempt us."
If you sell out of these at $24 I'll be surprised.
@njd I guess you're surprised?
@cutroil yes. Yes I am
@njd Kudos :D
@njd :-)
This is an outrage! How dare they lower the price on an item i did not buy before, nor plan on buying today, and expect me not to be mad! i demand a living!
Guess the pirate in tonight's picture modeling the headset recently came over with Marty McFly ...bet he is a real "Crab" Er.....
Own these, poor mic quality, also, not that great of soundstage, muffled sound quality, the low end is really weak. For the price, I think it's fair, but if you're looking for balanced headphones, these aren't it. Get the senn pc350 if you want actual sound positioning advantage.
I wish these things also came with a 4-pin (TRRS) jack, in addition to the separate audio and microphone jacks.
Time to thank @christinewas that it's not another speaker dock!
@narfcake You mean time to blame @christinewas that it's not another speaker dock!
If these were easily PS3/4 compatible I'd be all over this deal.
@bakerzdosen came here to check this. Thanks.
@fury Same....
@bakerzdosen if you have a mixamp, they are.. but not standalone.
i had another version of similar headphones from this company that mic on/off switch and volume knob over a year or two because faulty and I have now moved on to some headphones I got in a fuku, thanks again meh for saving the day! i am thinking about getting these but that crappy button/knob thing is making me have my doubts perhaps for 5 dollars?
@sp3ar I cant even english properly
@sp3ar what headphones? I got a turtle beach headset in a fuku that is amazing.
@MrGlass im using the Gigs noise cancelling ones, i had the turtle beach ones from a fuku but they are terrible, these sounds amazing and I have other microphones I can use dont need headset one
If all that matter is if I was satisfied at the time, can I get a refund? Because I used them once, decided they were crap, and threw them out.
@MrGlass Wow. Do you belong here? You might be an inverted hoarder.
@RedOak Don't worry, I hoard plenty. Just couldnt take the reminder that I wasted that much $ on the headphones.
Meh! I'm loading the crock pot and going for a walk.
I wear my earlier set at work and I like them well enough.
So I'm kind of drunk and a hundred+ dollar (or $50 from amazon) headset is intriguing. I have a Logitec G930 headset. Is this better by chance?
@USMC503 thank you for your service if that's true.
@RedOak yup 6 years.
Looks like the state of CA is the only one left heavily gaming. Or we just haven't caught up, or we already have headsets or something else. ;-)
From buying these for $42 last time Meh sold them, I can confidently say that they're worth $24. Maybe more!
They're survived way more drops than my Logitech headset, and they have the same sound quality as them, too (not horrible.)
For anybody who bought this before at a higher price, check your credit card and see if it offers a Price Protection or Price Rewind benefit. If so, you may be able to get the credit card company to pay you back the price difference.
@themicah my citi diamond prefered card does :) I came here to tell people!
I'll stick with the little earpiece that came with my PS4. I'm totally saving up for the Astros.
Got these the last time they were up for $44. They've survived a lot of abuse and are comfortable enough to wear for the hours, so I think they're definitely worth the ~$20-ish. As others have said, the sound and mic quality isn't great. The mic has to practically be in my mouth (even with mic sensitivity turned up) for it to pick anything up.
i also just noticed that these headphones produce sounds we are unable to hear 10 - 28,000 Hz so these should sound AMAZING
For the record, I am a female, and a gamer. This is the best review on Amazon:
Bought this last time. Right ear doesn't click together correctly so it's always disconnecting. Leaving me with sound in just one ear. It also fits very tightly and the mic isn't great. So meh.
i like steel series stuff super bummed i missed out
can these be used using 3.5mm plug ony

@rdr4lfe Yeah this was a shitty situation. I definitely encourage you to stick around and listen to your friend. We don't suck all the time.
@rdr4lfe I'm very dissatisfied that my order also got cancelled. The compensation of "free shipping for two months on future orders" was not satisfactory. @nicholasdw I had an order cancelled from Amazon this week because their inventory wasn't accurate. And you know what, they didn't offer me shit.
@brhfl BestBuy does that shit every freaking holiday season. I'd be surprised if a quick conversation with Amazon CS doesn't net you a discount of some kind, though.

So glad I showed my 11 year old daughter the new gaming headset she was getting. Hope she forgets after a while, since it was canceled.

@Thumperchick
I guess to hell with SteelSeries. Even Razer stands by their product regardless of where it's been sold.
I really want a replacement, but if all Meh can do is a refund, oh well.
@Talidan wow. That's crap. Link that image to meh.com/support when you write them, so they can try to straighten it out. Sorry about that.
@Talidan Oooh! Taste that burn, woot.com! Even though Amazon owns 'em now, they'll always be a piddly "fire-sale style" website.
@Thumperchick
Did just that. I'm really kinda bummed and surprised. I've heard good things about SteelSeries, but I don't really feel inclined to buy their stuff again, direct or from "fire-sale" sites.
