@jwilloughby Ha, I caught that too. I want a “whippy blade” Just like “katchew”, visualize me demonstrating the whippy. A knife that whips out /a la’ West Side Story style,(nothing says DANGER like a knife out of a broadway musical!).
Just a few minutes ago, I was using a meh knife that seemed to look just like this one-except there was no SOG on the side. Opps, nope, I’m mistaken, it was the Schrade knife that was pointy and not curved.
Anyway, you never know when you might be cornered by wild linoleum some dark night, so I say “buy,buy,buy”. Be on the safe side.
Edit: sort of related. Can we get some of those Cree style LED flashlights in maybe a 2 for one deal, (I’m not paying a lot). They’re all the rage now, and the prices are dropping every hour on those things. Oh, and let it take rather ‘normal’ batteries. ok. that’s it good nite.
I am going to murder so many invasive himalayan blackberry vines with this knife. Not so much murder, but just make them stronger,.,… a feudal fight that can only be won by goats!
I do have to say I like the way it looks. I don’t have any shag carpeting or linoleum to slash through, or whatever the hell it’s supposed to be for, but I bet I’d feel like a total beast opening packages with this thing.
@alacrity I’d recommend not handling knives after two margaritas. I can barely wield an iPad safely after two margaritas but maybe I make them stronger than you do.
it there a knife, led, usb speaker, lunch caddy combo item that also has a usb charger and a uv germicidial toothbush light all in one homerinspired gadget that will come up for sale soon? gotta buy people christmas gifts, its almost october!
Is this good for cutting rope? My wife wants a knife that’s good for cutting rope. Should I want to know why? But really, is this good for cutting rope?
As a carpet and linoleum installer I am always on the lookout for a good carpet knife… and that is why I love this SOG Specialty Knives & Tools CONTRACTOR IV knife. It looks as if it would tear through carpet and or linoleum with ease, and that is what really matters. I like how its blade is hawk bill shaped, and how the steel is 6CR12MOV which is a better grade stainless steel with excellent edge retention and rust resistance.
If you are one of those carpet layers who take pride in a job well done then the SOG Specialty Knives & Tools CONTRACTOR IV is for you.
In for 4 in aluminum handle and of course I got VMP it’s a finely honed way to save cash.
I hate using box cutters. I always seem to manage to find a way of getting blood everywhere. Luckily I have this knife from the last time meh sold it.
Quality build. Odd knife that’s great for dealing with tape, boxes, and anything that requires an initial puncture. I now attack packages in the mail like the talon of a velociraptor.
I hate knives. They kill, cut and maim people all the time. We should ban knives all together with a constitutional amendment. we’ll call it the 2And amendment.
I guarantee my carrier knife is better! You say yours is sturdy, I say mine has 1000 replaceable blades. Yours is sharp, mine is razor sharp. Your blade folds, mine retracts. You say “Meh” I agree!
Hey Meh, when are you going to make a deal on the other SOG stuff - the camping tools - trencher, axe, saw in nifty carrying pouch things … I had all that stuff from when you were Woot, but my ex-wife took it …
I bought this knife at some point a few months ago, and it would be the perfect EDC, except the excruciating lack of a beltclip. When closed, the blade is much bulkier than your standard pocket knife, so keeping it in a pocket is not fun. It now sits unused because I can’t keep it on hand… handily.

CUT IT OUT I am sick of knives
edit - cool I am first - too bad it isn’t a fuku LOL
I’m starting to lose hope in ever getting a decent kitchen knife from Meh.
@Tin_Foil Did you miss this?
a cut above-knifing in so that we can cut to the chase…er cut to the sale…
Damn it Meh, I need a speaker dock to go with my headphone-jack-less iPhone, not a knife for jacking someone else for his iPhone.
@lljk I’d rather jack-off than jack someone else because I was jack-less
A sharp lookin knife.
So I did a Google image search for Hawksbill and the first bazillion images are all turtles…
@cengland0 Obligatory
@hems79 just as obligatory in my book…
It’s not a knife for cutting carpet, it’s a knife for cutting contractors.
@awk if only…
@awk I don’t see any Trump branding. Are you sure? With “Made in China”, the provenance checks out.
Since the provenance of “meh” is the Simpsons, shouldn’t the appropriate reference for tonight be knifey spooney?
No idea why anyone would assume something labeled as “contractor grade” would be a carpet or linoleum blade.
Oh by the way … in this country, contractor grade isn’t a compliment.
@MehnofLaMehncha Yep. “Contractor Grade” == “disposable”
I’m not cut out for this deal.
“Grippy blade” Seriously? I think you’re holding it wrong.
@jwilloughby Ha, I caught that too. I want a “whippy blade” Just like “katchew”, visualize me demonstrating the whippy. A knife that whips out /a la’ West Side Story style,(nothing says DANGER like a knife out of a broadway musical!).

@wew Whippy knives, at your service: http://www.bladehq.com/cat--Side-Opening-Automatics--40
Full auto, none of this “assisted” nonsense!
cutting it a bit thin here, eh MEH?
An Amazon reviewer seems to use it to shave. So, uh, it’s multipurpose?
I am going to murder so many invasive himalayan blackberry vines with this knife. Not so much murder, but just make them stronger,.,… a feudal fight that can only be won by goats!
Best letter opener EVAH!
If I buy this knife will I have to deal with people contracting it out?

So many knife junkies here…
Gouda wheels and Cheddar blocks are shaking in their wax at that sight of that blade.
I do have to say I like the way it looks. I don’t have any shag carpeting or linoleum to slash through, or whatever the hell it’s supposed to be for, but I bet I’d feel like a total beast opening packages with this thing.
@currawong Three knives! and yell “RAAGGHHRRR!” as you assault boxes with all three of them.
Cut some limes with this bad boy and you’re halfway to a margarita. Am I right?
@mike808
Good enough…
@mike808 I thought you put the lime in the coconut?
this should be taken away from me after 3 margaritas.
@alacrity I’d recommend not handling knives after two margaritas. I can barely wield an iPad safely after two margaritas but maybe I make them stronger than you do.
About friggin’ time a knife gets offered…

Is this good for cutting rope? My wife wants a knife that’s good for cutting rope. Should I want to know why? But really, is this good for cutting rope?
@SSteve what kind of rope? At work we use a ratcheting cutter for rope that doesn’t get cut with a heated blade.
@SSteve You really want serrated for cutting rope. Veff serrations are fantastic (and scary looking).
@RiotDemon Somehow I’d never seen one of those ratcheting cutters before… neat.

Can you sell me another blade to open the plastic package this knife comes in?
No box cutters. Too soon
I hate using box cutters. I always seem to manage to find a way of getting blood everywhere. Luckily I have this knife from the last time meh sold it.

This won’t be the sharpest knife in the drawer since it will be in my pocket and not in my drawer.
I hate knives. They kill, cut and maim people all the time. We should ban knives all together with a constitutional amendment. we’ll call it the 2And amendment.
@clarion47 If you ban knives, people will maim each other with spoons.
@blaineg Ha ha! We used to sharpen spoons in prison ALL the time!
Ha ha, good times!

@takenforgranite you’re supposed to keep it in the box with the rest of your carpet tools
/buy
@blaineg It worked! Your order number is: reasonable-ritzy-beginner

@blaineg Cool, it works. Hey, is he carrying a knife?
Strangest looking backpack I ever did see. Good price though.
Got it
/image vengeful-withering-dad
@alanh judging by the order number image, you may want to gift this one… just sayin
I got this last time and have not used it like every other knife I have bought on here.
I bought two. I love sharp things. Now, next time you go to sell a knife, instead, sell a knife sharpener
@givemeyoursoul one of those motorized handheld belt sanders. That’s what’s up.
