So I started a blog...
18I have never had any interest in blogs. I honestly don’t care what anyone else has to say and I think that feeling is reciprocal.
Nevertheless, I started a blog. I am hesitant to share this because I am not even sure why I am bothering to write it.
Anyway, for those of you that are interested, the link is below. For those of you not interested, I share your disinterest…

It looks nice. I like your description of what day-to-day life is that you left for future readers. Context is important. I hope you keep it up!
@therealjrn
Thank you. So far only the wife and her sister has read any of it.
@jst1ofknd Not any more!
@jst1ofknd @therealjrn Seconded
@jst1ofknd @mossygreen @therealjrn 3rd’ed
@jst1ofknd @mossygreen @PhysAssist @therealjrn 4th’d. I like it - it’s like a more relaxed version of your Meh posts, all with context no less. Keep going!
@jst1ofknd @mossygreen @PhysAssist @stolicat @therealjrn I’ll take 5th’d. Or the 5th. Or a 5th.
Nice blog, and I generally don’t read blogs either. It would be nice if you mention where you are. I’ll assume the US since you’re on Meh, but a state would be nice since we are all at different levels of panic.
In SE Pennsylvania schools, senior centers and some government offices were closed on March 13, all restaurants and bars closed their dine-in facilities on March 15th, non-essential businesses strongly urged to close for at least 14 days on March 16th, all non-life-sustaining businesses were ordered to close their physical locations on March 19th, “Stay at Home” orders were issued on March 23rd.
@callow @mossygreen @PhysAssist @stolicat @therealjrn
I don’t make a secret about my location. Saying I’m in the Oklahoma City area is enough obfuscation because Oklahoma City is huge - at least by geography.
I may make a more biographical entry than that now that more than more than the wife and her sister read this.
@callow @jst1ofknd @mossygreen @PhysAssist @stolicat @therealjrn
You outta have a nice set of wildflowers by now.
Happy wildflower-ing!

@callow @f00l @jst1ofknd @mossygreen @PhysAssist @stolicat
Yeah, but it’s supposed to freeze tomorrow…
No wait, it’s supposed to be 90. My bad.
@jst1ofknd @stolicat Zactly!
@callow @mossygreen @PhysAssist @stolicat @therealjrn
I didn’t wax biographical today. Maybe tomorrow…
In the meantime, what would you like to know?
@callow @jst1ofknd @mossygreen @PhysAssist @stolicat You said you work in the nude. Does everybody in your house generally go textile free?
@callow @jst1ofknd @mossygreen @PhysAssist @stolicat @therealjrn waxing biographical - does that hurt more that regular waxing?
@callow @mossygreen @PhysAssist @stolicat @therealjrn
Nope. Just me.
@ybmuG
It does sound painful, doesn’t it. I’ll let you know after.
@callow
I’ve done it. I’ve waxed biographical.
Before you look, it is not posted yet. I’m running this post through a censor (the wife) just because it contains information about all of us… But I will probably post it irregardless of what she says .
@callow
It’s up there now.
@jst1ofknd Thank you! I really only wanted to know where you were and what phase of lock down existed there but this is so much better! Your family sounds amazing.
Maybe your blog will go…uh…
VIRAL

I think that’s the thimbles
@chienfou @eonfifty @PhysAssist HAHAHAHA
@chienfou @eonfifty @therealjrn Hearty belly laugh for the cymbals [yeah thimbles]!

I started mine on January 1997.
I should post more often in it, but I do an update at least once a month.
When I had problems with the software (I screwed something up big time in the sql file) their support was really nice, said they don’t see too many personal blogs anymore, just people trying to sell things.
Mine is journal.lisaviolet.com.
@lisaviolet
You started yours two days before I got married. I’m impressed you’ve kept it up so long!
This makes me wonder if my blog is still out there. It has been years since I worked on it…
OK, I am all caught up…ready for the next episode. Also, you should see if you can add a visitor counter to your blog. Might be fun or not.
@Burns72
I haven’t seen this option in the free version of Wordpress. I’ll look again.
@Burns72
Visitor counter is a plugin and plugins are only available for paid plans. Not what I am going to do.
I like it. It’s kind of a Seinfeld blog - a blog about nothing. Just random musings. My kind of blog. And happy birthday and congrats on the baptism!
@ybmuG
Thank you! It was (obviously) a very big deal for me. What makes it better is that with the church being closed that day (remote worship) it was very special indeed.
There was the preacher, the youth minister, and people we invited for this occasion. The number would be illegal today (being more than 10).
To set the stage more, this was at a Church of Christ. One thing we don’t do is musical instruments (though I personally don’t care one way or another).
The preacher asked me if I wanted a particular song. The only thing that came to mind is Show Me the Way by Styx. They played it. Straight from Spotify. That would definitely not been done on a normal Sunday.
@jst1ofknd yeah, not a typical song for such a service! If I push it a bit, it is a song about, somewhat, searching for meaning in confusion, so not completely disconnected…
I bet if anything it was memorable and that is indeed important. Glad it was a good day.
One of the things about maintaining a blog is you’ll have a record of what was going on in your life.
A new recipe you liked. A new restaurant. Conversations with people who are no longer around (for whatever reason).
It’s a trip down memory lane. Sometimes sweet, sometimes nostalgic, sometimes sad.
I hope you stay with it.
@lisaviolet
Well, there will be no new restraunts for us for a while… Though I guess it could be just take out only…
