Size matters. How big is your TP stash?
7So, now that Coronageddon is here, do you know how long your toilet paper stash will last? Don’t forget those extra rolls you snatched from that last pallet at Costco.

You will last 240 days
or 1714% of your quarantine.
Oh no, yer not foolin’ me into letting the internet know how much toilet paper I have. A better question would be to ask me how much ammo I have. But I aint tellin’ that neither.
@therealjrn buy more ammo!
@JnKL @therealjrn Isn’t that always the answer- well, along with buy more bacon!
If I use the advanced options and change it to 1000 sheet rolls I’m much better off, since I only have 2 rolls left. Otherwise I’ll be using leaves in 8 days.
Ya know, I will say I had 18,000 pounds of toilet paper coming in from North Carolina. We would have got away with it if it wernt fer those meddlin’ kids.
Truck found filled with 18,000 pounds of stolen toilet paper
If each roll I have is 700’ and and each “sheet” is 4" … well their calculator doesn’t go that high!
I suppose if I really do run out in late 2021, I could use some shirts?
@narfcake If you use your healthy supply of cat shirts maybe the cats on them will then lick themselves clean? (Be nice if that were true.)
@Kidsandliz Self cleaning shirts? That’ll be amazing!
Mom and I were a little nervous about our supply, but then I noticed she had a ~36 roll package of ultra Charmin in the garage. We’re set for a while, I reckon.
Bidet, bidet, bidet - That’s all folks!
It all depends how often I eat at taco bell (burp).
So in the house I have two packages from Costco so that’s what 48 rolls? 6 rolls per sleeve with 4 sleeves per package. We buy about a package every 45 days and they were on sale in January. Then in our camper I have another package and a half from Costco but that’s been there since last October. So that’s another 36 rolls. So Costco is double ply and I have 74 rolls which means I might as well use it as single ply and have 148 rolls. I am golden. If Meh wants to trade IRKs for TP I’m game
@bleedmichigan those rolls in the camper are pretty old and may have gone stale. Better send them to me just to be safe lol
@tinamarie1974 the package has not been opened and I assume they are like Twinkies and have a shelf life that is longer than a nuclear winter.
@bleedmichigan ohhhhh well be careful. Hate for you to use stale TP
I didn’t buy any more TP than I usually do, because I have access to a bidet.
Not sure. The advanced options on that calculator site didn’t include diet variables, stomach illnesses, or just times where you have to wipe and wipe and wipe…
@medz eat more fiber, or get a bidet.
@RiotDemon oh, ok. Judgy McJudgington.
@medz Thank you!!
I reject a bad calculator that cannot account for differences in how said TP is used. And how people are taught to wipe. You would need your own household base stats then basic math plus a variable for changes/guests. But since you asked…
I have ~79 rolls. That I bought before this was a thing just because I buy in bulk on sale and have space. I buy the main house water filters, etc the same way. Last time I bought some was probably 5 years ago and it was running low last year. Without addition of outside forces (I’d love to remedy that no matter how much they waste, but not the time) the new stock might last a decade.

If I knew anyone local who needed any I’d be happy to break off a 9 pack but I don’t have a ton of neighbors. And we have like 1 case. People are being kinda weird about wiping out stores.
@unksol
don’t forget gender.
men use less
@Cerridwyn I’m aware. Lol. That’s why I said household stats matter
@bleedmichigan it says pillow soft but… Your name says bleed… Idk
@bleedmichigan @unksol and recycled… hummmm is that better than refurb?
And what’s your address?
For a memorable experience.
I’m on my last roll. Stores are still out (WTF, people, you don’t need a year supply) but I have plenty of paper towels that can be “drawn and quartered”
/giphy drawn and quartered
TP can’t be found in the town I live in. None at dollar store, Walmart, grocery stores or Sam’s. Not even at the truck stops or convenience stores that usually sell it. Only place to order online is eBay at horrendous prices. If anyone knows of somewhere to order, please let me know. Smaller town so trucks aren’t even coming to refill the stores.
@nmb3260 Put in a bidet before you run out.
@nmb3260 maybe we need to spin up the great amehican TP exchange. No idea how long it would take to get to you but I have some spare if I can be arsed to get to the post office
@nmb3260 I can send you some in a flat rate box. Might be squished but it can get there
@bleedmichigan I’m happy to pay for the paper and the shipping. Just not gonna pay the eBay ripoff prices. Yesterday, I saw 8 rolls go for 110.00 and that, my friend, is craziness.
I even tried to find Rv paper thinking it would be available. Nada. Lol surely the companies will step up production soon?
Not one case of covid19 in our county or surrounding counties but you sure can’t find toilet paper. Smdh
@mike808 I bought one that I can install, sister doesn’t tho. She might have to find one if she can, before she gets desperate. Funny not funny.
@nmb3260 The manufacturers will not increase production because there’s no actual increase in requirement. If they ramped up production then there would be an excess in a couple of months (that would cost them money to store) while the people who hoarded TP will be using up their own supplies rather than buying more. So they will maintain the same production/delivery levels as always, and we can hope that the hoarders just run out of space or money soon and the rest of us will get a chance to buy some.
@rockblossom I totally agree and it makes perfect sense. The hoarding, I guess, I can also understand… Although I wouldn’t have thought of that being the product that would run out in the stores and not be replenished via the mfg. The people on eBay selling toilet paper for crazy amounts is one thing I do not understand. I guess some people see a crisis and think how can I help and others see a crisis and think how can I profit…SMDH… Again lol
@nmb3260 @rockblossom have you not met humans? They are horrible
@nmb3260 @rockblossom I actually read an interesting article that said TP production for retail sales will increase. With the sharp decline in hospitality business (restaurants, hotels, etc) they are simply shifting production from wholesale to meet the new demand.
@nmb3260 @rockblossom @tinamarie1974 not to be an ass but that’s not a production increase. That is just them needing to sell their product and not shutdown. There’s no reason for the rush
@mike808 @nmb3260 Meh solved that for me in 2017 :
https://meh.com/forum/topics/bio-bidet-a3-self-cleaning--bbc-70-non-self-cleaning
@nmb3260 @rockblossom @unksol well yes and no. Generally plants have to retool to go from one production to another. Different packaging, possibly different design, etc. So although it is a just a shift in production, it would be an increase for retail and a reduction for wholesale being tendered to a completely different distribution network
@nmb3260 @rockblossom @unksol
I have enough to last us a little while but my sister has a house full of littles that are home 24/7 now so… Lol
I just find it hard to believe you can’t even order from the paper companies themselves, online. Craziness!!! Thanks for the TP offer tho… Might need it eventually lol
I got a couple of those bidet attachments when they had Them on two for Tuesdays. Im so glad I did that. Gave one to my mom. We bought a big package of toilet paper from Sam’s and split it. So we are set. I don’t really care if I run out of tp as long as I have running water
We can all hoard those endless CVS coupon-filled receipts to cover the possibility that we run out of TP.
/image CVS receipt
@f00l
@mike808
@f00l isn’t that the truth… Those receipts are ridiculous. I mean the number of trees is bad enough but the amount of space those receipts take up in my purse is crazy lol
@f00l @mike808 @nmb3260 You should check if any of the coupons are for toiletpaper.
Bought a pack from Costco just before the shit hit the fan. My wife and I use a bidet while our son is a holdout, but regardless the TP should still…hold out for a while.
Our daughter was the most notorious offender with making one-wipe, multi-layer shit-mittens that would clog the toilet, but she flew the nest for greener pastures…literally (Desert SW to the west coast).
@AdmiralDave You mean a few shifts on plunger duty or scrubbing detail didn’t fix her problem? Blame the parents, then.
@AdmiralDave
Fuck @mike808. That’s a pretty condescending and awful post. You can be a funny guy Mike, but shit man…that’s just a shitty post. :C
I don’t even know where this came from originally, but…
@rockblossom
@rockblossom @tinamarie1974 Why does that make me think of Oscar?
@chienfou Now that you said that I see that too.
20 rolls in the closet for two of us so I’m not worried about it. I did see some at Dollar General yesterday. Might be the kind of place to check if you’re in need.
@cinoclav The dollar tree had a ton of TP, paper towels and some klenex today. They weren’t limiting the buying either. They also had hand sanitizer, wipes and spray up at the cash register - limit 2 each.
I’ve seen no TP locally on the shelves for 3 weeks. Haven’t been in a store at the exact right moment.
Starting 03/21 I think, Dallas is limiting purchases to either 12 rolls or 1 package (if a large package) per transaction.
I suppose people can go store hopping, or make several trips, if they want to have a personal warehouse full to TP.
Hoping they won’t.
I downloaded the TP Virtual Reality app for my google cardboard. It works ok, just don’t take off the headset when you’re done.
Enough where I don’t need to worry about converting my two-ply in to single-ply yet.
