@Stallion This is alright by me. Got 'em for the teenaged boys here in the house. So maybe they'll decide to shave every now and then instead of growing out some bizarre half beard.
@mbenert I last bought blades in 2012. 100 Astra Platinum, but then realized I liked Astra Stainless better. I'll need to buy them again soon. What shaver do you use? I have about 15 different shavers that i use, depending on mood and danger level.
@Occasionally My primary razor has been a Merkur Long Handled Safety Razor. After about 6 1/2 years of use, the first one broke and I bought another one. For some reason it doesn't shave quite as well as the first one… My secondary razor is a 1970 Gillette Super Adjustable. I have another 1/2 dozen or so old razors from the 50's - 80's (mostly Gillette). For blades, I rotate between Derby, Dorco, and Feather.
@mbenert@Occasionally I have the Merkur 180, been using it for the past five years. I started with the Merker Platinum blades but found the Feathers performed much better. I bought a pack of 30 in July of 2014 (checked the order) for around $10, just finished the first 10-pack. I still have 20 more, heh.
@Occasionally Yup yup... I have an EJ handle that I started with but now days I love my 1970s Gillette Red Tip handle... I have about 4 others but none of them make me as happy as that old razor. Took some time to get used to DE, but once you get it down you can shave pretty quick even when using shave soap and a brush.
@brhfl@mbenert@ugm133a I'm using a red tip right now, but I also have a 20's new improved big fellow, a bunch of black adjustables, a gold tech, a krona, a gem (SE in box), and the cooper flip top razor.
See? This is why I sell my soul to meh. Not the crappy marginally cheaper electronics but the dirt cheap random household items. I've always heard foil shavers are exponentially better than rotary so I can't wait to try it out on my velcro covered face.
@DrunkCat I have this exact model. It is not the most comfortable electric I've ever owned.
But for nine bucks... you might get ten bucks use out of it. As the description says: not a very close (or comfortable) shave, but about half the price I paid at Walmart last February on overstock reduction.
@DrunkCat I don't think a $9 razor that originally sold for < $30 is going to float your boat too high. But you never know.
I've used foils, I much prefer rotary. The foils tend to grab and yank hairs which is really painful, never have that problem with rotaries. But then the rotary I use cost more than $100.
@DrunkCat I've used both and the foil did a much better job shaving me than the rotary ever did. With the foil I would go over your skin and it leaves a bare strip behind. With the rotary I would go over my skin and leave two tiny strips bare, just as wide as the blades on the one part where they are spinning against the grain. It was stupid.
"Refurbished, in Remington's case, means disassembled, boiled, barbicided, sterilized, rubbed with alcohol, and examined with a magnifying glass before reassembly (if it was ever even used by anyone in the first place)"
Hey, for $9, I'm in for two. One for my teenager and one to leave at the vacation home. Heck, the comments about a refurbished razor have been worth almost $18 in entertainment anyway. muddy-imperfect-sandwich
I became a Harry's fan last year and haven't looked back. I used to bounce between electrics and blades. Closer shave than any electric or other blade have tried and economical. They are not paying me to say this either..
@readnj I also love Harry's. I'm on a plan now for blades, about to try the shave cream as I didn't like the gel. BTW did you know that if you cancel and re-sign up for your shave plan every XX months (3 for me) then they'll send you a new free razor every time for signing up? It's great because I have one for the gym and for home now. :-)
@RedHot. Interesting about the sign up. I was on the 2 month plan and switched to 3 because the blades were lasting longer. I also get the creme and the face wash and really like the products.
@cmrk3 I order 8 blades every 3 months for $15. If you spend over 10 shipping is free so that is about 1.88 a blade. If you buy more price goes lower. What I also like is Harrys has their own blade factory in Germany. As I understand Dollar uses a few suppliers so consistency may be an issue.
@cmrk3 I'm on the same plan as @readnj I've tried both and Harry's razors provide a better experience. Their products are pretty good too - for the price. I think their stuff is as good as the cream from Jack Black and less than half the price.
The Tom Selleck should definitely be an option to vote for. Egregious error, leaving him off. That said, DE razor all the way. Merkur 34C with Feather blades. Best shave I've ever had, and the blades are dirt cheap.
How many of you recall the old Remington ads where (then) owner Victor Kiam held up a Remington razor and said, "Ours are made here in the USA and cost less. Others are made overseas and they cost MUCH MORE!"
i can't find out what kind of batteries these have, so i am guessing they are nimh. still, at 10$ this should make a nice backup razor in case my main razor dies mid-shave.
I always found regular blade shaving a waste of time, so I got a high-end Braun electric shaver years ago. Used it for a while, but it cut just close enough that my face was sandpaper halfway through the day. I can't imagine this one would do much better, and it doesn't even have the cleaning base the Braun did.
Now, I just keep perma-scruff with a Wahl beard trimmer using the slimmest guard. It's easy, and I've been told it's my best look anyway.

Today's deal seems kinda dull
@densa A cut below the rest....
@densa what a sharp wit you have
@densa foiled again!
@densa This came along just in the nick of time...
No way, refurbished=some guys man hair all up in the blade, and it probably isn't facial hair.....
@Stallion Oh don't worry. I'm sure the Meh staffers personally checked out each and every one.
And cleaned them thoroughly when they were done.
@Stallion This is alright by me. Got 'em for the teenaged boys here in the house. So maybe they'll decide to shave every now and then instead of growing out some bizarre half beard.
Double-chin cover remover. No thanks.
@stoopkid lol
Everyone I know is actually growing a beard this time of year, but whatever floats your boat...
@mehdaf yep whatever floats your boat. Either you know some strong East German women or you don't know any.
I returned one of these I shaved my ass with. Do you really trust their sterilization?
@lichme I... what
@lichme Some things would be better not to admit, regardless of the punchline.
Shaving the prices down
ew
refurb...
just remember that the person who used this before you wasn't shaving their face.
@RogerWilco .. And that cook who prepared your lobster last night didn't wash his hands after using the loo so what's your problem..?
Oculus Rift goes on pre-sale today... this is what Meh is running against it? Are you folks even trying?
Had this been 6 years ago, yes. Double edge safety razor for me thx.
@Occasionally I agree. A better shave and less expensive. You can buy a lot of blades for $9...
@mbenert I last bought blades in 2012. 100 Astra Platinum, but then realized I liked Astra Stainless better. I'll need to buy them again soon. What shaver do you use? I have about 15 different shavers that i use, depending on mood and danger level.

@Occasionally I was all about the DE for a while, but it took more time than I had in the morning with rug rats around. One day I shall return.....
@Occasionally Yup yup... I have an EJ handle that I started with but now days I love my 1970s Gillette Red Tip handle... I have about 4 others but none of them make me as happy as that old razor. @Occasionally @mbenert Tradere Open Comb and (usually) Gillette Silver Blue blades over here.

Plugging for cordless shaver -- not exactly a hair raising deal though
I really want this...
I am going to do some research, hopefully it will not sell out by the time I am done.
A Wednesday, don't-trust-the-hygiene-of-a referb Meh.

@jandrese you're doing it wrong... the blades are circular so they shouldn't leave a strip
As I like to say, "chance favors the embeardened face".
Beats a gently used toothbrush, I suppose.
No. My face is worth more than 9 bucks. Panasonic linear motor, baby.
Lotta people on here complaining about these being used on private parts already, but that's exactly what I intend to use this thing for, so, cool?
I'm a single woman. Meh.
@Zypher Not worth 9 bucks to remove stubble from your overnight guest(s)? ;)
"Refurbished, in Remington's case, means disassembled, boiled, barbicided, sterilized, rubbed with alcohol, and examined with a magnifying glass before reassembly (if it was ever even used by anyone in the first place)"
Well, OK. But still, no.
@RedOak I thought it has been proven that alcohol actually increases germs.
@dino2269 hadn't heard that. Source?
@dino2269 Actually, excessive consumption of alcohol increases the spread of germs.
So use protection!
@dino2269 Must of read it on the net, right?
Faze Jev, And Seth Rogen have the sexiest beards I will ever see.
Confused by the photo they put on the box.
@satyenshah WTF were they thinking???
@satyenshah The guy used it to shave his balls, no confusion...
plz more inergie chargers
model feller on the box couldn't even finish shaving.
why is he unshaven?
@username because even that dude doesn't trust refurbed hygeine products.
Here's to looking at a mesmerizing smiling chihuahua. what?
a used, $9 shaver -- this is tempting fate, no?
I bought this to give my dog a hair cut. I hope this works and my dog does not care where the razor has been

@OutbackJon Look at this hoity-toity guy with his "summer home" and his "teenager."
@andrewpatrick And his 'winter beard.'
@andrewpatrick lol
@andrewpatrick What can I say? Buying refurbished hygiene products can save a person a lot of money. Have you seen the price of toothbrushes lately?
Sadly, my profession doesn't allow me a 'winter beard', or any other season beard for that matter.
I'm not saying I don't trust Remington's refurb cleaning process... but...
Shaver arms!
(Won't sell many of these in VT when it's this cold.)
@sligett Won't sell many in Vt when it's not cold. doesn't work on cows.
Meh. I'm in the market for a Norelco trimmer, though. Get on it!
How many of your father's owned a Remington razor?
@cinoclav Me
@cinoclav Me too.
@mike808 This little piggy was slaughtered for bacon...
@cinoclav and so were all the others. The (delicious) end!

@readnj I do the dollar shave club (which is actually $1 + $2 postage a month). Is Harry's cheaper?
@cmrk3 I order 8 blades every 3 months for $15. If you spend over 10 shipping is free so that is about 1.88 a blade. If you buy more price goes lower. What I also like is Harrys has their own blade factory in Germany. As I understand Dollar uses a few suppliers so consistency may be an issue.

temporal-disastrous-fork
kinda looks like portman....
@tjamesturner You're doing it wrong.
This is a temporal-disastrous-fork.
@mike808 perhaps, but that woman looks nothing like portman. ergo, my internets is moar.
Anyone who voted the Guy Fieri in the poll needs kicked off the site.
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.

BEARDS!
Kind of. I get ingrown hairs if I shave down to the skin. Also I'm pretty lazy.
I have this razor ,it is great. , the shaving heads snap off and could have been replaced with new ones , I would have bought 3
The best shaver I have ever used is Panasonic ES LA 93 K. Its awesome. you can check what online reviews say about this shaver here.
@denislubo appreciate your opinion but the intent is a bit too spammy for us so I removed your link.
@snapster maybe they should put it into my thread from a long time ago? @denislubo
