Re-Goat the Goat!
9Before the scapegoat traditionalists begin to lecture me, I merely ask that you take a moment to consider the many compelling reasons to re-goat @mfladd.
For the sake of brevity, I am only going to focus on two of those reasons. (I'm @joelmw's daughter. Believe me... I could go on forever.)
1. The "Fully Endorsed and Supported" Unmehficial Stupid Goat! League is a lie if mfladd ceases to be goat before the season begins. This could be the greatest FF league meh has ever seen. We must not kill it now! Let us not miss the opportunity to see @jaremelz's stirring prophecy come to pass:
2. Repetition has defined @mfladd's goathood. I'm not going to waste your time repeating all of the things mfladd has already repeated. I started compiling screenshots, but that was bordering on crazy (plus... I'm doing this on my phone. So much effort). I will only remind you of his first attempt at a meme competition.

I'm not saying we should make a habit of this. New goats are a good thing. But this one time, why not embrace the novelty of re-goating the repetition goat? Let's make history together, people!

Nah. While @mfladd has been a good scapegoat, he's fully utilized his goathood. Besides, I have a short attention span and want to see some....

As a proud and supportive father, I proudly support my daughter, even when she's wrong. I'm not going to say that she's wrong now, because that might be wrong. I need to sleep.
And I'm pretty much never wrong, so supporting me is always a good idea.
Only @joelmw can be my dad... but all of you have an opportunity to support me. Try it, it's fun!
@christinewas - I see your concession below, but I just want to point out how hard your dad worked to mediate an East-West truce. @mfladd unilaterally sparked the conflict anew. Glad you've come to see the light ;-)

@sohmageek A purple Meh shirt would be very awesome and they would probably sell out in minutes, but Meh seems to have de-purpled, lately, and it makes me very sad.

Since this wasn't immediately flooded with comments detailing all of the other reasons @mfladd should be goat again (hey, a girl can dream), I'm going to throw these two out there: he keeps blaming other people for things and he seems really worried about running out of time. He clearly isn't ready to stop being the goat.
I love this. Also, whoa, did we know this about you being @joelmw's daughter before? Does that mean the W in @joelmw is short for Was? I'd always assumed @christinewas was a shortened name for Christine Was Here, like some sort of graffiti tag, but now I'm leaning toward it being your last name.
@jqubed It has come up here and there, but many people don't know. You were correct before and you are correct now. I like layers of meaning. So, yes... Christine was here. Christine was other things. And Christine was a person whose last name started with W-A-S before she got married.

@darkzrobe While a commendable notion, don't you think that sort of mentality should be saved for the "real world" ? Alternate universes that exist in part to blow off steam, need goats.

The Concession Speech
I regret how quickly I abandoned this direct phase of the Re-Goating Campaign. I blame too little sleep, too much real life, and the goat that "betrayed" me. My dreams have died, but I walk away with a glimmer of satisfaction.
I'm happy for two reasons:
First, a few of you decided to think outside the box with me to contemplate the beauty of giving the repetition goat a second term. When traditions are in question, anyone "considering the possibilities" will always be a win, in my book.
Second, @mfladd was scared. Some part of him believed that my determination might doom him to another month of goating things up with no one to blame. As evidence of his fear, I present this timeline:
10:25 am, mfladd received a message from me, indicating that my plane was taking off and I would be disconnected from the forum for a while.
10:58 am, mfladd posted his consolidated scapegoat nomination thread, with heavy emphasis on the reasons we shouldn't re-goat him.
11:10 am, mfladd ensured that everyone saw @marklog's solid nomination of @sohmageek. No other "campaigning threads" were named.
11:46 am, mfladd reveled in the fact that I was not around to defend myself. He knew what he was doing.
I scared the goat into underhanded, treacherous political maneuvering. Not that those things were out of character for him. But you do have to make a conscious decision to act on an unfair advantage. mfladd made that decision.
I wish the best to the September goat and to the people who will see their goating dreams fulfilled. We have some great nominees and it is sure to be a good month. And, finally, may mfladd rest in peace.
