Question for all you Meta smartwatch users (purchasers or Fuko winners
1Figured I was getting a smartwatch or similar because my Fuko which I received today only weighed 2.4 lbs. Also figured there might be problems with it given everyone else’s stories on electronics they received with Fukos. I was correct.
All the display shows is either the Fuko logo or “Welcome-lets get started>”. When I try to push button to where he “>” is pointing nothing happens. Anyone have any suggestions re going any further IE rebooting the software in the watch or am I Fukoed.

Try microwaving it on 50% power (in an 1100watt oven; use full power in a 600 watt oven) for ~30-45 seconds. This will almost certainly reset it. Permanently.

google it, there are like three different reset key sequences (or at least on my model there are)
but it’s a pretty crappy watch (or at least my model is)
Sadly the company appears to be out of business. Their website is pretty much gone. You can probably still get the needed companion app from the App store, but know that many of the data feeds won’t work.
Mine quickly locked up, and the only way to eventually reset it was to leave it for several days until the power died completely. Then I put it on the charge cable and it came back to life as a reset device.
I was never able to get mine to work. Charged okay and seemed to boot up, but nothing ever worked. Tried a number of resets, but no love.
Ended up mailing it yesterday, actually, to another Meh’r who had gotten the watch in a Fuku… but no charger.
@Felton10 Do you have a Meta M1? I assume that’s the model you got, since the Frame and Strata say something about being ready to pair with a phone as soon as you power them up.
@lljk I got the metawatch M1 now, but it’s stuck on the screen of waiting in the starting part. “please wait while we are preparing your watch”. any tips how to make it work? thanks

I have had to remove the battery and replace after cleaning it and the contacts twice since owned - might help.
@kc5rbq did you replace with a new or same battery.
@Felton10 Same battery - sometimes the watch looks like it charges but when you take it off the charger it dies, which is usually caused by the battery not making good contact inside the watch.
Use a jeweler’s screwdriver and take out the four screws in the back, lift the back off and there is the battery. Pop it out of the holder and rub it against a pair of jeans on all exposed sides. Additionally, clean the battery and the contacts in the watch with rubbing alcohol on a q-tip and then replace the battery and replace the case back. Clean the contacts on the back of the watch and the charging clip/cradle and then try charging again.
@kc5rbq thanks for the suggestion-already ordered some jeweler’s screwdriver’s this morning from Amazon thinking something like that would be my next step. That could be the problem because was getting a screen that told me to plug in the watch even after I had it plugged in a couple of hours and given what I had read it should have been fully charged. Will let you know if that works.
