@harder No. It may be possible in the future with Android side-loading. The technical preview of Windows 10 for phones currently doesn't support hardware (bluetooth) so the app crashes when trying to connect. Meta hasn't shown interest in a Windows Phone app in the past.
@heartny yeah, this looks like a later model than last time. Also last time they were refurbished (mine had some gunk in the charge port... Nothing a toothpick couldn't clean out, but still).
@heartny This is different than the $15 Meta watches. My son wears those and they have been good to him. Our school district won't let kids wear a smartwatch that will let you cheap. ie one with a mic. So no Android Wear or iWatch. So you down to Pebble, Meta or maybe Tizen. What surprised me was how well he adapted to the Meta. Sure it doesnt do as much as my Android Wears or Pebble but it does what it needs to. So he gets notifications, texts, weather, and time. The odd thing is that the face needs to be broken in. When we first got the face seemed broken. It looked too dark. Over a couple days it broke in which was odd. Overall it's a very basic smartwatch more in the mold of the older MSN Directwatches but in the bluetooth mold but we're happy with it.
Meh, thanks for the wonderfully inexpensive ($15) Meta-experiment with smart watchdom earlier in the year! It worked OK. But now it sits lonely in a drawer. The app has long ago left my phone.
I realize this one is more capable. But I'll hold out for a well-reviewed (and actively supported) smart watch next time. (It will also be less than a hundred bucks.)
If, however, you missed the previous Meta experiments, perhaps this one will float your boat.
@RedOak I actually used my metawatch quite a bit until I lost my charger clip a few weeks ago. Any chance you'd be willing to mail me yours if I cover shipping?
This is exactly what I want from a smart watch. Handles music and notifications without much fluff and plenty of battery life. Not sure I can justify the money right now though.
No ambivalence here about the LG G Watch. It's fantastic. The round Moto one is ugly between the flat tire and the crazy thickness of the watch. Woot sells refurbs every so often for $80 or so and I really recommend it.
Got my G Watch in October 2014 for $108. Great piece of technology (considering it was the first Android Wear device). No complaints about it really, and wore it every day since then, but I still felt the need to shell out $150 last week on a Huawei Watch.
@doxeelady I lucked out and my refurb actually worked pretty well. I lost the charger clip a few weeks ago, though. Would you consider mailing me yours if I cover shipping?
I bought one of these last time for $50. It arrived DOA and I had to contact Meta for a replacement. That one has worked well enough, and looks pretty nice. One of the buttons has began to stick though and I think I may be contacting Meta for another replacement soon. For the price it's not bad, but its functionality is basic at best. I don't expect Meta to be in business for much longer.
Came in to share my advanced-thrilling-paladin (stainless; didn't sleep on it this time). And to lament the demise of my Streak at 354. Nooooooooooooo!! :-( TIME to start anew.
@jzmacdaddy the $15 one was the older, discontinued MetaWatch Frame and Strata. These are the current generation Meta M1 watches. Incidentally, I've been wearing my Frame continuously since receiving it from Meh (only removing it to charge once a week) and it has been terrific.
@jzmacdaddy@kasona I bought the Frame and have also used it continuously with great results! I bought a black M1 on epay for about $50 and it works nice too. I'm in for a stainless to complete my set. :)
@kasona yeah, well I also have a pebble. All of these meta watches are like stone knives and bear skins compared to (the pebble). These meta watches are ugly as shit too.
i bought 2 of the other kind before. did anyone figure out how to install their SDK? and can it work with existing clip without buying development clip?
@paulgraham i can't imagine justifying a purchase like this if i didn't have at least 3 months of pay saved up. but then, i don't live with my parents anymore....
I'm someone who got the $15 MetaWatch way back when and I still use it every single day. While I don't think I'd pay full price for these (if I paid full price for things, I would not be on this site), getting a newer model like this for only $48 is a great deal if you don't already have a smartwatch.
In for one. It seems to do everything I need without over complexity or looking like a toy like the Pebble or costing three times as much for a stainless steel version.
I bought a black one last time it was offered on Meh, and now I'm buying a Stainless version (missed it the first time). I like the simplicity and the price point of this watch. I'm obviously the target audience, because it does all the necessities (for me) and looks pretty darn good. In January they announced that they would be rolling out Misfit fitness capabilities, but it seems like MetaWatch's online presence is diminishing...
I like the strata WAYYY better than the M1 (today's meh). The M1 is more expensive, harder to use, and actually slower. The strata is great because it gives me simply what I need when I need it. Yes, it has frozen up a couple times, but I do only mean a couple. The M1 requires way too many button presses to do simple things, plus it's sluggish as hell.
I got the cheap-ass one before. I had a hard time getting it to work in the first place, it was flaky as shit, and after a few days I ended up never wearing it again.
Maybe this one is way better, but I wouldn't gamble $50 on it. Meh.
@Burns72 Yes, and that's the most useful feature, IMO. Love that I don't have to fish my phone out of my pocket to see whether the buzz was important, and I often miss notifications when the phone is in my pocket. Hard to miss them on your wrist.
I bought a $15 Meta watch from Meh and loved it but the display was tricky to see at times. Then I bought the stainless M1 and had bad luck with it. It would lose connection all the time. When it loses connection it should display an icon but it wouldn't. The only way to know the connection was lost was to open the app. So it was getting frustrating to keep missing messages and not know until I looked at my phone. I emailed Meta and they got back asking my phone model, etc and seemed to be working with me. But then their only suggestion was to unpair, clear the bluetooth cache, and then pair it back. I had already tried that and it would work for a bit but then lose connection again. I finally just retired the watch to the dresser.
I use an unlocked Asus Zenfone 2 running Android 5.0, bought new in May.
@derek17j Sounds like you're not using your old $15 meta. I'm still stuck with mine (I find it helpful, actually) but I lost my charger clip. A new one costs more than the watch did. Any chance you'd be willing to mail me your old charger clip if I pay shipping?
A coworker pointed me to this watch on Meh this morning. Just happen to be in the market for something simple without a lot of fanfare. I wanted one for the better half for medication reminders. This looks perfect. Going with Stainless x 2....one for me and one for better half.
It seems half of the people on reddit in the /r/MetaWatchCommunity bought it on Meh, and, that there's not much development on-going. I was going to go for it, but after five minutes of research I'm incredibly wary. After reading that the company is located in Dallas, TX, I figured out why they're frequently on Meh...
@Tom I've had a white one I got from the last sale. It's been, what, a couple of months? Never really had problems with it. I suppose I do occasionally lose connection but at least for me it's never been a big issue. It's only if the watch wanders too far from the phone and then it may get confused, usually solved by simply hitting connect again or in extreme cases, turning bluetooth off and on again on one of the devices. If you want something simple and especially if this is your first smart watch, I'd recommend it.
Meta has meh as part of its name? A match made in heaven!
Seriously though I think this needs to be at least $20 cheaper given the high likelihood of buyer's remorse. Too many poor reviews for a no-name product.
No swimming is the deal-breaker for my. My point of reference on watches is my $20 four-button Casio that I had for 17 years (and still have, and it still works, but it no longer screws together tightly enough for water-tightness). 50m water resistance, which meant swimming, showering, torrential rain, etc. were all A-OK. It took a couple of hard knocks too without more than superficial damage.
The Pebble site says immersion and high temps are OK as long as you don't press buttons or go in a sauna. That's the kind of reliability I need at minimum -- I don't want to jump in a pool on the spur of the moment and realize I just ruined a $50+ piece of gear.
@kensey Do the Pebble watches not require a smartphone for all their functions? Because if you randomly jumped in a pool, while such a watch would survive, your phone would be fried.
@lljk My understanding is that the basic watch-type functions work fine on the Pebble without a smartphone -- but also my phone is the kind of thing I'll remember to put somewhere safe first, whereas out of habit I won't necessarily remember that my watch is a delicate little flower (spoiled by that Casio...)
Apparently if you're the fun-loving type, you can use a Linux computer and some unofficial software to configure the watch, though I don't know if that includes initial config.
@aleminopuy I checked amazon and ebay and neither have one for sale. You'd almost be better waiting until one goes for sale cheap again since it will be the same price as the watch. I say that because I checked metawatches site and they want $20 for it and they are out of stock.
@Pufferfishy yep. The battery thing was the nail for me. (Meta-user from the first Meh sale.) That and we were going camping, so I went back to my glamorous analog Casio dive watch.
Didn't use the thing again until this sale reminded me I had it in the drawer. Started wearing it again to see if it is really drawer material. . . yep, it seems to be.
@Pufferfishy thankfully the experiment was priced right for me - $15! Learned-by-me: 'would likely jump at a better design (cleaner, thinner) with a legible display that was bullet proof reliable. And priced $50-75.
@legolord464 13% in about an hour on my S4 - but we're talking about one day of ownership (just not a great precedence). Arguably my battery is aging, but still, the drain is decidedly a noticeable one.
mine just arrived!!! yey!!! pluggged in to a usb charger downloaded app, paired alright until it updated. now just says connected and trying to update giving me the error 2. maybe the batt is too low to software update but the damn things been in charging for almost an hour and battery meter barely moved. but first impressions, i like it pretty hefty like my other metal watches i have. ( got the all stainless one)
I bought two, one stainless and one black. The stainless one is working great, but the black one won't charge :( It works fine while it is connected to the charger, but the Meta app shows it at 1% battery and as soon as I disconnect the charger the watch dies. I've tried it on both charger clips, leaving it to charge for several hours on each one, with the same result. Any ideas for things to try, or am I stuck with trying to send it back for replacement?
@kasona Take the four screws out and remove the back. take the battery out and clean it by rubbing it over denim on both sides and then put it back together - worked for me!
Have the stainless, but the band is way too difficult to adjust. Wish I'd gotten another band. Also, the battery seems to last only a few days. Not as good as my Pebble. Fear I've made a mistake.
@albarras I was confused because I first tried a watch band tool to push the pins. The band came apart relatively easily with a small flathead screwdriver.
It's pretty heavy but I stopped noticing after the first day. Battery life does leave a bit to be desired (50% after 2.5 days).
Great idea, but unfortunately not made for a woman. It is very heavy and wide. The screen is very difficult to read; the characters are really small and there is not much contrast between the screen and the characters. I would not recommend it to my friends.
I've had my "Mehta" M1 (Stainless) for a week, and... well, I don't hate it.
I most like the style -- it's roughly the same size/weight as my Fossil watch, so no problem there. The battery on my iPhone 5 sucks already; as such, I have not noticed battery life being worse with having Bluetooth enabled full-time (it was Off before). I like being able to see text messages & notifications without taking my phone out of my pocket -- the main reason I wanted the watch in the first place. I really like that the Meta App allows you to filter notifications. I can turn off emails & other apps for when I'd rather keep the notifications phone-only. I'm just getting texts & calendar reminders on the watch.
On the down-side, the included watch face selections are not super-pretty. Battery life on the watch itself is acceptable -- I got 6+ days on a full charge. Right on par, as documented in the specs. I'm not a fan of the clip charger. Its only fastener is magnetic, and easily becomes dislodged when bumped. I'm frankly bummed out to learn there isn't much development happening currently for the M1. I'm hoping to find maybe some open-source apps or some 'unauthorized' hacks for this thing, because it's got some potential for improvement.
I would like to say just don't buy from this company their products are as their name implies MEH just MEH I guess its my own fault I bought from this company after all they gave fair warning with just their name MEH. Sounds like baby puke doesn't it.MEH!
It's not reliable enough for message notifications to confidently turn your phone off vibrate mode, but it will ALWAYS tell me when WiFi networks are available or disconnected. I've gotten a few compliments from my junior high students, so I guess that's something.
I like the watch but it came with a bent pin in the clasp and cost me another $15 to get replaced. Still a good deal I see these watches at another deal site for $69.97
This watch did not work AT ALL! Contacted the company, MEH, and got nothing except contact the manufacturer META, and got nothing except they do not back the warranty, only the distributor did...problem is they don't either. Every part of this company Sucks Big Time. Sucky product, Sucky CS (if they even respond) Sucky manufacturer (Meta)...Much 110%+ SUCKY! Gives a bad name to CNET Cheapskate offerings. I do not care how cheap it is...I think it should work... somewhat at least.
@Dalebill This may be a silly question, but did you get in touch with Meh customer service a second time after the manufacturer blew you off? If not, Meh may not know the manufacturer sucks. If you did get back in touch with Meh and they didn't do anything, that's a different story.
Maybe I'm lucky or just have low expectations. After my daughter bought an Apple Watch for $700, I took a chance and bought this watch (no way was I spending that much). I knew I was on a roll when the band fit perfectly out of the box. It stays charged for about a week but I do shut off the bluetooth at night. It's comfortable and the notifications are hard to read but it does buzz my wrist when I get one so I haven't missed an appointment lately. I keep the time face on the basic digital large print and everything works great. And it really looks good for $50. So it's not a very smart watch but I can put up with it for the price.
Follow-up to my post from a couple months ago: iPhone update (iOS 9.1) seems to have rendered most "smart" functions useless. Bluetooth connection frequently drops, I'm basically getting zero notifications from the phone to the watch (primary use) even when it's supposedly connected. The biggest atrocity of all is that the Sports Score function has somehow mixed up The Ohio State University football with Ohio U. That simply won't do... For that last bit, Meta support (in so many words) blamed that issue on the iOS update. And with the last app update dated last January, I'm not holding my breath for a fix. :-(
I really like the watch itself, but it's definitely a pain to keep resetting the Bluetooth every five minutes. Suffice to say, my Meta M1 is now relegated to storage until there's an app update. I've not had any luck finding third-party or open-source apps that work on this device.
I sprung for the Martian watch a week or so ago.... maybe I'll have better luck with that.
@SColburn My Martian came last night, and I'm wearing it right now. So far I love it! I haven't had any issue with getting alerts either. I did update the firmware, but I'm not sure what version it was on before that (I couldn't find any way to tell), so I'm not sure which changes that enacted.
@ellcapp1 What steps have you taken to reach a resolution with customer service? Your experience does not seem typical of most experiences here. Although a glance at the item specifications in the first post on this thread shows that warranty is handled through Meta, so that's where I'd start.
Loved the watch. Purchase the stainless model from MEH for next to nothing, then put a nice black leather band on it. Received compliments on it all the time. All I wanted was to be alerted to phone calls & text messages when my phone was on silent, so for me, the watch worked perfectly. But I switched from a Samsung S5 phone to a Samsung S7 Edge, and the watch’s app is saying it’s unable to connect to the internet. It can connect to my phone, but not the web. After days of playing with my phone settings & permissions, I gave up & ordered a brand new Martian Notifier from MEH for half the cost of the Meta. I’ll be happy very soon!
I’ve hacked the app (Android only) as it wasn’t able to connect to the meta servers anymore and I have a version I have pointed to a server of mine so it thinks it can communicate. None of the data feeds work right now but it at least lets the watch connect to the phone and send notifications. If anyone wants a copy of the app for Android let me know.
I suspect if you have a fresh out of the box watch this might prompt for a firmware update which i don’t have resolved. But if you already have the update it works. Right now I’m just forcing this response and not doing any data verification as i just want a functional watch at the moment. The services calls seem to go to /metacloud/services/service_register.php and service_search.php but i haven’t had time to figure out what it sends and expects there.
But the files look to still be available at the sports.metawatch.com location just their cert has expired breaking the https functionality and thus app communication. So you can play with some of the php files on their site if you grab what the app is sending.
All I am looking for is a way to at least have this expensive, now useless, paperweight connect to my phone so that I can get enough data transfer to use it for basic watch functions: to set the time, use the calendar, control music, etc… Apps would be a bonus but I don’t believe that will happen. It worked fine until the web site went down and I mistakenly let the battery run out. It now pairs with the phone ok but that’s it. Everything seems to rely on an internet connection first.
I tried moefathy’s base.apk app but it doesn’t seem to connect with anything either. It only hangs and waits for a connection.
I also tried the app for the older Meta watches and it will also connect to the phone without the internet app, but there is no data transfer due to different operating systems.
I can’t understand how some web sites including Amazon and NewEgg can still be selling these.
This was a piece of junk, I thought. It was super heavy and didn’'t work for very long. I almost forget about it until I made this purchase which I hope will have better results. I still have the watch and ‘charger’ if anyone wants it.

@AttyVette And money to burn
Meta Meh.
Is it compatible with Windows Phones?
@harder It seems to barely work with Android and iOS phones.

@harder Oooo another windows phone user. I didn't think there were more of us.
Mehta Watch again? Different models, perhaps?
@heartny yeah, this looks like a later model than last time. Also last time they were refurbished (mine had some gunk in the charge port... Nothing a toothpick couldn't clean out, but still).
@RDW0409 eewwwww!?

@njd It works with the 5s/5c as well.

@RedOak my sentiments exactly.

If my iPhone 4 were one year less ancient, I'd go for it. It's a cool gizmo.
Never. Ever. Meh x 10^100
This is exactly what I want from a smart watch. Handles music and notifications without much fluff and plenty of battery life. Not sure I can justify the money right now though.
Decisions, decisions.
If, per chance, you're in the hunt, grab the Stainless quickly since that version seems to go first, especially since it is the same price.
Pretty bad when there are more 1-star reviews than any 5-star reviews.
@cengland0 But 5's 4's equal the 1's and 2's. Sounds like a 50/50 gamble on something that will either turn into a Pebble or an ugly bracelet.
No ambivalence here about the LG G Watch. It's fantastic. The round Moto one is ugly between the flat tire and the crazy thickness of the watch. Woot sells refurbs every so often for $80 or so and I really recommend it.

The refurb meta watch I bought did not work. It sits in a drawer and left a bitter taste for MEH. Sad. Maybe meh will send me one of these??? Meh!

Already have a Pebble, so I'll pass on this.

wish this worked with a blackberry... then I could get it for my father
@aaronhurt Blackberry? You mean WHERE's MAH WINDOWS PHONE SUPPORT?!!?1!
@stinks Nope... dad works for DOD and has to use a freaking BB.
Came in to share my advanced-thrilling-paladin (stainless; didn't sleep on it this time). And to lament the demise of my Streak at 354. Nooooooooooooo!! :-( TIME to start anew.
@SColburn You know you can still click the meh button, right?
@mtbm33 Yep. Which I've done every day without fail since September 11, 2014... until yesterday. :-(
@SColburn Ah, I guess I misunderstood. That sucks but think of it as a new beginning. Or something.
@mtbm33 No worries. I'm pretty sure there's a Goat or something around here we can blame it on. =)
These things are awful. And this comes from a guy who got one WAY back when meh had them for $15.
@jzmacdaddy the $15 one was the older, discontinued MetaWatch Frame and Strata. These are the current generation Meta M1 watches.

@jzmacdaddy but, but... a stone knife is sharper than a pebble.
I have the meta watch frame I payed $20. Its alright and my first smartwatch. for $48 its a bit of a gamble but hey I bought one.
meh
i bought 2 of the other kind before. did anyone figure out how to install their SDK? and can it work with existing clip without buying development clip?
If this were being sold Friday I'd buy it in a heartbeat. As it stands my bank account is in the red so no smart watch for me :-(
@paulgraham That is what credit cards are for. Buy now, pay later.
@paulgraham i can't imagine justifying a purchase like this if i didn't have at least 3 months of pay saved up. but then, i don't live with my parents anymore....
It's tempting for the turn by turn while biking, but I think I'd rather just get a bike mount for my iPhone.
I'm someone who got the $15 MetaWatch way back when and I still use it every single day. While I don't think I'd pay full price for these (if I paid full price for things, I would not be on this site), getting a newer model like this for only $48 is a great deal if you don't already have a smartwatch.
I understand they don't dispay Glen, but do they display Glen? Because that would be a killer feature.
In for one. It seems to do everything I need without over complexity or looking like a toy like the Pebble or costing three times as much for a stainless steel version.

No love in the survey options for people wearing fitness trackers like Fitbits or Jawbones? Cuz I'ze gots a Charge HR strapped to this here wrist.

@Logjac agreed. It's a bit cumbersome to get to the useful functions.

Maybe this one is way better, but I wouldn't gamble $50 on it. Meh.
@edheil I kinda liked my cheap-ass one, but I lost my charger clip. Any chance you'd be willing to mail me yours if I pay shipping?
@aleminopuy I don't know where mine is, but I'll take a look and see if I can find it. Drop me a line at my username, at-sign fastmail dot fm.
Meh. Smart watches still too big and blocky for my liking...
So, does this have vibrate alert? I did not see it in specs.
@Burns72 Yes, and that's the most useful feature, IMO. Love that I don't have to fish my phone out of my pocket to see whether the buzz was important, and I often miss notifications when the phone is in my pocket. Hard to miss them on your wrist.
Well, I've done it. Now I need to start those wrist enlargement exercises, or maybe steroids.
I bought a $15 Meta watch from Meh and loved it but the display was tricky to see at times. Then I bought the stainless M1 and had bad luck with it. It would lose connection all the time. @derek17j Sounds like you're not using your old $15 meta. I'm still stuck with mine (I find it helpful, actually) but I lost my charger clip. A new one costs more than the watch did. Any chance you'd be willing to mail me your old charger clip if I pay shipping?
Have just ordered my first smart watch and interested in hearing any useful tips/hints on use that can be offered. Thanks…
@hallmanor I got one of the older/cheaper ones when they sold 'em. I put my phone notifications on my wrist. I love it.
These are simple smartwatches, but as long as you're not expecting the moon from it, you should be happy.
Will I have to buy a smart phone now to get it to work?
@dheavy yes. One of the phones listed in the specs. This watch only communicates via Bluetooth to its smartphone-installed and running app.
I got one of the $15 Meta Frame watches when meh sold them, but I lost my charger clip.
Anybody out there bought one, hate it, and not use it any more? Would you be willing to send me your charger clip if I paid shipping?
@aleminopuy I checked amazon and ebay and neither have one for sale. You'd almost be better waiting until one goes for sale cheap again since it will be the same price as the watch. I say that because I checked metawatches site and they want $20 for it and they are out of stock.
Glad I didn't order this as a gift because it arrived beat to fuck thanks to the protective 7 mil plastic shipping wrap it was wrapped in.
AND the app/connection is a complete battery eater!! Yay me!
Man - I have got to stop shopping at 3am......
@RedOak I should get it up on eBay before I wear it for another minute.....
@Pufferfishy thankfully the experiment was priced right for me - $15! Learned-by-me: 'would likely jump at a better design (cleaner, thinner) with a legible display that was bullet proof reliable. And priced $50-75.
@Pufferfishy Really? It doesn't seem to make much of a difference on my s6, I don't need the app open all the time and the bluetooth is so low power.
@legolord464 13% in about an hour on my S4 - but we're talking about one day of ownership (just not a great precedence). Arguably my battery is aging, but still, the drain is decidedly a noticeable one.
@Pufferfishy Wow after ~8 hours on my s6 it drained 30% but a lot of that is just general phone stuff
mine just arrived!!! yey!!! pluggged in to a usb charger downloaded app, paired alright until it updated. now just says connected and trying to update giving me the error 2. maybe the batt is too low to software update but the damn things been in charging for almost an hour and battery meter barely moved. but first impressions, i like it pretty hefty like my other metal watches i have. ( got the all stainless one)
Group texts appear as "location found" is my one gripe so far.
Really impressed, I have an Apple Watch, naturally not up to the Apple Watch functionality but like the quality and features.
I bought two, one stainless and one black. The stainless one is working great, but the black one won't charge :(
It works fine while it is connected to the charger, but the Meta app shows it at 1% battery and as soon as I disconnect the charger the watch dies.
My battery life seems fine but I can't get notifications to work via iOS. The settings Meta references seem to be from an older iOS version.
Anyone have suggestions?
tell me can I return my stainlees steel watch I can't wear it its way to heavy weighs more than my phone
@jemgro I tried to return mine for the same reason and the answer was, No. This falls under the category of buyers remorse.
@jemgro I bought a leather band off of e-pay and it is much lighter and looks great. $20 !
I'm hoping to find maybe some open-source apps or some 'unauthorized' hacks for this thing, because it's got some potential for improvement.
strong text
@Dalebill Definitely write back to meh.com/support and let them know that the manufacturer didn't honor the warranty.
Bought 3 of these as gifts, right out of the box not one works.
@ginamartinez man, that sucks. You can try for warranty replacement here, or write in to meh.com/support for a refund.
Purchased the Meta watch in Sept and it never worked still to this day have not received a replacement or refund very bad customer service.
@ellcapp1 What steps have you taken to reach a resolution with customer service? Your experience does not seem typical of most experiences here. Although a glance at the item specifications in the first post on this thread shows that warranty is handled through Meta, so that's where I'd start.
So I went on a trip to LA and lost my charge clip to my M1. Do any of you have one you'd like to part with? :)
thanks for reading!
Can anyone please tell me what the battery number is to replace the battery in my M1??? Any links to where I could buy one??? Thanks!
Company went bankrupt. Piece of junk now. App not supported anymore.
I’ll be happy very soon!
yep…didn’t work out of the box. Last time trying Meh if my new watches I bought today don’t work…Meh is “dead to me”
I’ve hacked the app (Android only) as it wasn’t able to connect to the meta servers anymore and I have a version I have pointed to a server of mine so it thinks it can communicate. None of the data feeds work right now but it at least lets the watch connect to the phone and send notifications. If anyone wants a copy of the app for Android let me know.
@owlhooter yes hi i would like a copy of your app…may you kindly email me the app or link to moefathy@gmail.com
@moefathy I sent it to you in email but also decided to go ahead and post it here for anyone else that may want/need it.
@owlhooter Fantastic. Can you post a quick summary of what response it expects from the server? (I’ve only looked at the broken Yahoo Weather bit).
@trisk the first call it tries to make to start up is to https://sports.metawatch.com/metacloud/firmware/fw_query.php
I don’t have the specific info it sends handy at the moment but the response it expects is
{ “code”: 1, “results”: { “mid”: “”, “fid”: 5, “version”: “3.1.0”, “buildno”: 3081000, “md5”: “f933c6fd95be12d5e601a9bd6f1029af”, “blocks”: “”, “summary”: “”, “description”: “”, “min_mwm”: 21398, “latest_mwm”: 21398, “url”: “https://sports.metawatch.com/metacloud/firmware/fw_download?mid=&fid=5”, “optional”: true } }

@windows10 does your link also take me to the site where you make me download malware and then you guys charge me $139.99 for quick easy removal?
@thumperchick I think we have some
/image gross spam
@owlhooter hi i would like a copy of your app…may you kindly email me the app or link to 0066551@gmail.com

This was a piece of junk, I thought. It was super heavy and didn’'t work for very long. I almost forget about it until I made this purchase which I hope will have better results. I still have the watch and ‘charger’ if anyone wants it.
