Question about Fuku Drawstring Bag
2So…
I’ve really enjoyed using my Fuku drawstring bag (and wearing my t-shirt from this past Dec 25th). Sadly I’ve never gotten any octopus hand gestures.
However, after a little over a year, when I was prepping my bag mentally for another outing, I noticed this 8 days ago:
A rip near the top.
However, that didn’t fully sadden me.
Today though, I noticed that one of the rings near the bottom of the bag came away from the bag and I can move it anywhere on the string which it is on. (Or is the string in the ring? Matter of perspective I guess.)
My question is thus: Has anyone else who’s used the bag noticed tearing/ripping?
I don’t keep pointy objects in it since I prefer to have easier access to them…
I’m deciding if I should retire the bag (and keep it in my closet). The problem then though is that I wouldn’t get any stares or breakfast octopus gestures (I’m still imagining that I’ll get one).

Not worth trying to repair. Just try for next fuku
@CaptAmehrican
Sigh.
I guess I’ll put the bag down. Just gotta find a replacement.
(It also didn’t help that the Fukos which I got didn’t contain drawstring bags. Not fully complaining though. The can koozies and Meh apron may come in handy eventually.)
@PlacidPenguin you can always use the apron material to sew a new bag.
@RiotDemon
Too many pointy parts involved. While others may enjoy it, I don’t trust myself.
@PlacidPenguin
You can do iron-on fabric patches on the inside. But if the fabric is failing, the failures might continue elsewhere in the fabric.
@f00l Iron will melt it. Duct tape that spot instead.
@PlacidPenguin Let’s figure out how to get me your mailing address and I’ll send one of mine.
@PlacidPenguin Yes? No? Too creepy?
@ruouttaurmind
How much for the bag?
@PlacidPenguin How much? I’m seeking the princely sum of zero dollars and no cents?
@ruouttaurmind
Your attention is wanted over here.
@PlacidPenguin Replied.
@ruouttaurmind @Thumperchick @narfcake @f00l
OK. Something’s seriously wrong. I’m not used to dealing with generous people.
Perceptions of individual components of a large society have to be called into question.
/giphy nervous breakdown
@PlacidPenguin it has been a minute since I’ve done a random act of kindness. I prefer to be anonymous, but this time without your participation, I am unable to be random or kind.
The last thing I want to do though, it’s stress you out. Think on this for a minute, and let me know. The bag is yours if you wish it.
@ruouttaurmind
I responded 18 minutes ago in case you didn’t see.
@PlacidPenguin Responded
@PlacidPenguin Back to you
Hmmm…
Now I’m thinking about Old Yeller even though I never read the books.
I guess a better question would be:
What is the material of the bag? I’m looking for a replacement, but the material plays a big factor into the cost.
@PlacidPenguin that material looks like the same material used for most cheap shopping bags, semi disposable scrubs, and goretex (the outer layer) rain suits.
Probably better off getting a cotton or nylon draw string bag and cutting the logo off your old bag, sewing it to the new one.
@PlacidPenguin I believe it’s non-woven polypropylene.
Hit a thrift store and find a few t-shirts for a no-sew tote?
@narfcake
Hmmm… Apparently the nearest thrift store is only 4.1 miles from me.
Nearest Goodwill is 4.7.
Thought it was worse.
DEMAND A REFUND!!!
@thismyusername @hollboll
I dunno. I’m thinking that;
A. I’m out of the standard 1 year warranty.
ג. They’d tell me too bad.
@PlacidPenguin you just never know until you try.
@thismyusername @hollboll @galmaegi
@IsThereAnybodyElse?
Eh. I’m up for a challenge. This could be fun. It may take a couple of days to craft a message to CS though. Not because of lack of words, but because I’ll need to remove a lot of them for space.
Though I guess I could use PasteBin and send the link to the formal letter.
@thismyusername
Sent one in for fun. Lost awesome formatting however.
You did good. My bag lasted about 2 months before I started missing items that fell through a worn out hole on the bottom…ughhh
@hollboll @galmaegi
If I send a thingy in, could neither one of you actually send a response? They generally involve words.
@PlacidPenguin We’re pretty slammed at the moment but if you email us we’ll reply… eventually.
@hollboll Reread it.
@narfcake in that case, I’m sure it could be arranged for neither one of us to reply.
@hollboll
You still have to read it though.
Sigh…
The corner ripped.
@PlacidPenguin If only there was someone here to blame for that …
(Hi, @ELUNO!)
@narfcake
Got that covered already.
@PlacidPenguin A second or third time doesn’t hurt.
