Pitney Bowes complaint thread
31I posted yesterday in the IRK reveal thread about my IRK being stuck at a partner facility for the past 7 days. According to Meh shipping, it shipped from Carrolton, TX on May 14th and arrived at the partner facility in Little Rock, AR on May 15th. This makes sense - Texas shares a border with Arkansas so the shipment should be relatively quick. And the initial shipment was quick! It only took about 12 hours for the package to arrive in its destination city. Since then: No movement at all. USPS Tracking says IRK is still “on its way to USPS…”
So what happened? I’ll tell you what happened! PITNEY BOWES HAPPENED!
PITNEY BOWES is apparently Meh’s new shipping partner. PITNEY BOWES is the the worst courier on earth. Don’t believe me? Here are some of the lovely reviews found around the internet:
Overall Rating on Sitejabber.com: 1 star (9 reviews)
“I would not recommend making any deal with this company for any product.”
“Worst. Support. Ever.”
“My company has been using Pitney Bowes for more than five years. In that time, these guys have not been able to get anything right.”
Overall Rating on Consumeraffairs.com: 1 star (36 reviews in the last year)
“Call to ask about a package that they have had for 5 days that has not moved from their warehouse two hours away from me. They cannot tell me or even offer to help me find out why. They tell me to call the shipper and have it re-shipped.”
“DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT HELP.”
“Terrible company to do business with.”
Overall Rating from BBB.org: 1 Star (150 reviews)
“This company should be closed …they do not deliver what they claim. i have been waiting 3 weeks for a product that i ordered. it has sat for days on end at various locations…”
“I’ve been waiting over three weeks for a delivery of less than 50 miles. No updates on their web site.”
“Man this company sucks. I just wanted some damn regret but this is the least thing from instant. PITNEY BOWES CAN BLOW ME.”
I may have made up the last one but the horrible reviews are endless. I wanted some regret but instead, I think Meh is going to end up regretting signing a lease with this company.
SO WHO ELSE HATES PITNEY BOWES?!

Sounds like a mediocre shipping company…
@jst1ofknd Sounds like “'mediocre” would be quite an improvement for them.
If you go to the newgistics website you will see that they were acquired. As a result it is nothing that meh did. Hopefully meh will track problems and think about switching companies if your experience is the common one.
I tried calling the shipper about a package that had basically vanished for days (it finally did show up, tracking info was retroactively changed to remove most of the earlier screwups, two round trips between TX and IN, and it goes on and on) and no matter what buttons on the phone with them you push you get sent back to instructions to contact the company who sent the package. No way that I could figure out to talk with a human. While meh is meh - at least customer service at meh is responsive. This shipper apparently operates on: “we have your money and your package, not our problem, fuck you”.
@Kidsandliz
It’s not:
It’s:
“We have the shipper’s money. They’re our customer, not you. Go fuck yourself, because we ain’t doing it for free.”
@Kidsandliz @mike808
@bmf @Kidsandliz @mike808 Even then, backgammon was such a confrontational game, the bane of a civilized society.
Just what we needed. Another place to complain about the shipping. Lol
@RiotDemon Wait until the PastaDerps shipping fail is as bad as trying to enter the ship-to address on the website, for start-to-finish fuckery.
@mike808 I’m not sure why you had so many problems. It worked fine for me.
@mike808 @RiotDemon Did you not read his lengthy complaint? He had to type in the address. ONE LETTER AT A TIME!
@mike808 @sammydog01 no. I don’t think I saw any complaining. No siree.
@RiotDemon
You clearly don’t understand how Engineering and Applied Science works.
@mike808 mkay.
@mike808 @RiotDemon but does understand how a pasta website works.
@mike808 @RiotDemon as I said on the pasta drop website. My pasta is going to be completely dry by the time it reaches me at this rate.
/ Shipping is horrendous recently. I spent my pasta coupons on buys from all their sites… They’re all stuck for last 7 days with no updates.
Heyo, wanted to make a thread about this from a recent morningsave order. Glad to see I am not the only one disappointed by Pitney Bowes bullshit.
If this is the future of shipping through the sites, might just have to cancel VMP and move on.
@thewynner Same Items I ordered the beginning of May are just…sitting. This is so disappointing.
Fuck Pitney Bowes. I have ordered things from woot, Amazon, multiple times and gotten my shit faster. This is ridiculous. I don’t blame meh except that now I’m not getting what I paid for.
Mayday! @DrWorm did the thing.
@jkrlvgn well… And I don’t mind crappy shipping if it’s the difference between “free for $5 a month” and paying shipping every time.
If it’s really saving them money (which means saving us money too) then I will grin and bare it.
If this is only saving enough to buy the mediocre team a big Mac once a week and not pass savings on to us… I say screw it. Y’all can eat 99¢ hamburgers at your weekly staff lunch instead. Forget about the fries.
That wasn’t serious btw. I don’t really think you should eat 99¢ hamburgers… We value your health…
… Who else will ship is stuff?
@OnionSoup
Pics or it didn’t happen…
Oh, well…
I don’t like Pitney Bowes mailing machines can act as rogue dhcp servers. It’s frustrating and unexpected.
@elimanningface I looked up dhcp servers and still don’t know what they are. CURSE YOU PITNEY BOWES!
@elimanningface @sammydog01
DHCP servers hand out addresses to devices when they join the network (i.e.you turn them on).
That’s a problem because that’s your home wifi router’s job, not some completely random device that prints stamps and who knows how buggy or misconfigured the PB POS stamp printer is that pretends it is your router.
There’s only supposed to be one DHCP server on any network, so that everyone is on the same page to talk to everyone else on the network, especially talking to the router to get to the internet.
I used to use Pitney Bowes postage and mailing services. Hardly their largest customer, but for me, $12k-$15k monthly is a significant expense. After the umteenth time they double charged a $5k mailing then insisted it didn’t happen, and basically told me “prove it”, I fired them and never looked back.
And their postage equipment sucks worse than their account disservice manglers. Boo on Pitney Bowes.
(How’d I do @benjaMEHn?)
@ruouttaurmind I appreciate you. They’re horrible and anyone standing up for them is… Well… I’m just gonna go with uninformed.
Folks have been nostalgia tripping over the “old Woot” so now that meh has found a shipping service that’s as slow and inefficient as how SmartPost used to be, and now folks are complaining about how much they suck?
/image facepaw
It’s not Amazon Prime. Stuff is going to take more than two days. Stop looking at their dysfunctional tracking; your orders will get to you eventually.
@narfcake it’s not the tracking that’s disfunctional. I am 100% confident the package is exactly where they say it is. It’s just been sitting there for more than a week without an update. If you don’t see that as a problem with a shipping service, you’ve got extremely low standards.
@benjaMEHn You are correct; I do. When I’m buying something cheap, I don’t expect the fastest service, especially when many companies have been operating with fewer staff due to a global pandemic.
@narfcake you work for Pitney Bowes or something? Ever done business with them? Have some knowledge of how they operate? If not, why stand up for them? What does it get you? If you don’t share the opinion of countless individuals that have had to deal with Pitney Bowes and have no skin in the game, why even comment?
@narfcake I’ll agree with that if I’m buying something cheap, like a $14 t-shirt, but meh sells more than just t-shirts. Just the other day there was a $100 vacuum. That is certainly not cheap. A discount, yes, but not cheap.
@benjaMEHn
So you are saying that if someone does not agree with you (@narfcake for instance), that they shouldn’t post in this OPEN forum? Who made you the forum King?
@Barney @benjaMEHn @narfcake I thought I was the forum king!
@narfcake @Willijs3 Most of the complaints I see about shipping are for five dollar crap and cheap drones. Is it really taking a month for $100 vacuums to arrive?
@sammydog01 It does seem to take a while, but I don’t think it’s that long.
@Barney @narfcake This is comical. The thread is titled “Pitney Bowes complaint thread” so that those who feel the same way about Pitney Bowes can vent. It’s absolutely an open forum and you have every right to post - my question was WHY would you post in a COMPLAINT thread if you have no complaint? The only reason I can come up with if that you enjoy being argumentative. Would you go to a thread titled “Thread for People from Florida” and comment, “This is so stupid. I’m not from Florida but I want my opinion on Florida to be heard because I think I’m super important. Get over yourselves, Floridians!”
All I’m saying is that there is really no reason to post comments that disagree with a complaint in a thread meant for complaints. Making comments just to denigrate the feelings of others makes you an asshole.
@benjaMEHn Fine, if you don’t want some other views on your subject (you just might learn something), I’ll just leave you to muck around in your slop.
@sammydog01 I usually only buy the cheap stuff, so I can’t speak to the shipping time on high dollar items. I was just pointing out that meh doesn’t only sell cheapo drones and shirts. But my experience with the cheap stuff will make me think twice about making a higher priced purchase.
@benjaMEHn
I said “slow and inefficient”. I don’t believe that was defending or complimenting them in any way – and yet, every order I’ve placed has still gotten here.
FWIW, the postage meter at my old work was a PB. It worked as it was designed to do – so there’s a counter perspective.
@benjaMEHn
Wait, @narfcake, you have a different opinion?
@Barney Seriously? What a smug comment. What could I possibly learn from your opinion about my complaint? Your response is teeming with narcissism.
@benjaMEHn I expect @Barney meant you could learn something from @narfcake. Sometimes that happens when you actually talk to someone with a differing opinion instead of banning them. Although you may prefer an echo chamber of people who agree with you.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@Barney @benjaMEHn @narfcake @sammydog01
WRONG!
@Barney @benjaMEHn @Ignorant @narfcake @sammydog01 we don’t want to learn anything here.
@sammydog01 Calling people out for complaining and doing a “facepalm” (or “facepaw”) is quite a rude way to offer a differing opinion, no?
My whole point was basically, “if you don’t have anything nice, don’t say it all.” In this case, if you don’t have a problem with Pitney Bowes, that’s completely fine, but why chime in just to say that others are stupid for being disappointed with their service? And is “all of you with complaints are stupid - it’ll get there eventually” really helpful? Or just something said to start shit?
And please don’t get me started on the echo chamber - just because I don’t comment often doesn’t mean I don’t read various threads. The names that keep popping up in support of one another are the same people that do it in countless other threads.
@Barney @Ignorant @narfcake @RiotDemon @sammydog01 speak of the echo chamber.
@benjaMEHn
Agreed.
@Barney @benjaMEHn @narfcake @RiotDemon @sammydog01
Me? I’m not supporting anyone here, I just said one word because I thought it was funny.
In fact I don’t much care for Pitney Bowes either since I’ve had a package sitting in Grapevine TX since the 13th but I’m also not that upset that the junk I ordered isn’t taking up space in my house. I do find it funny that this topic was just started like the shipping partner switch just happened and hasn’t been in place already for a while.
@Barney @benjaMEHn @Ignorant @narfcake @sammydog01
/giphy echo
@Ignorant It’s that reply all. Once @RiotDemon replied to you, you’re in it. Ha.
But honestly, I’d noticed orders were slower recently but I have no idea when they signed the new contract with Pitney Bowes. Do you know the date of the switch?
And to be very clear, I have no problem with Meh. I probably like Meh a little too much. I’m just not happy with their shipping partner. I think Meh should know when their customers aren’t happy and that their Customer Support (which is always great) might be receiving an influx of messages due to their partnership with this company.
@sammydog01 Just to provide a data point on more expensive items ordered…
I placed a MorningSave order for a $55 air fryer on May 5th. Label was created on the 11th, and “inducted into Pitney Bowes Network” on the 15th. That’s the one and only update I’ve received.
By comparison, a set of $39 Morningsave sheets ordered on the 19th somehow went out FedEx on the 22nd and is scheduled to arrive on the 29th, which is pretty routine for these shipments.
And finally, my IRK which also shipped Pitney should be arriving tomorrow. It was inducted on the 13th, and had 5 scans on the 13th, 5 scans on the 15th, and single scans on the 17th, 20th, 21st and 22nd before being handed off to USPS.
I’m not super frustrated at the speed of delivery, I just want to see progress and consistency. My IRK is going to have taken a week and a half to get here, which is fine, because I KNEW it was coming, and received somewhat frequent updates about it. I wish I knew when the air fryer would arrive though…
@benjaMEHn
Sometime around April 2019
@Barney @benjaMEHn @Ignorant @narfcake @RiotDemon @sammydog01
Thought about replying. But there’s little likelihood of a social or discursive upside to engaging that.
Sigh.
Hey everyone!
Pitney Bowles sucks horribly.
Only sometimes, and for some services, they don’t!
It’s really ok to talk about various perspectives and histories regarding this.
Regarding P-B postal machines:
yeah, they can fuck up horribly. But if you have tried some of the competition, you might wind up coming back to P-B.
I agree with the wish that Mercatalyst might find a better, more responsive, less insane, shipping partner.
Is there any reasonable hope that the P-B services will improve?
I never worry about all this, within my own life re Meh. Meh packages arrive when they arrive. If it takes a decade or two, fine.
I don’t purchase time-sensitive stuff here.
I don’t watch the tracking page.
I forget I ordered <whatever>, and then later it shows up.
That said, if I made an expensive purchase here, I would expect some degree of sane and reliable shipping.
@benjaMEHn @Ignorant Pitney Bowes bought Newgistics in 2017. I’m not sure when the tracking changed to call it PB. That feels like a few days ago almost.
And if you meant that I’m the echo chamber, so be it. I’m a mod because I like being here. Most of the time. I have friends here. I’ll usually reply to them.
@f00l
I’ll ignore the top of your post since the whole, “sigh.” thing is just another example of the way the Meh message board frequent fliers like to treat other people. But about the points you made:
Can you explain the services at which they don’t suck? As I looked through the numerous reviews online, I didn’t find a single thing people were happy with. Maybe it is just that upset people are more willing to write reviews than happy people but I didn’t see a single happy customer.
Is there? Is hoping they improve naive? Shit in one hand, hope in the other?
@RiotDemon While they bought it in 2017, it is only fairly recently that they finally completely merged what newgistics was doing with how they do it to make one integrated system. As a result there likely were/are some changes from even a year ago.
@benjaMEHn
Nope.
Rather, like some people, when posting, might treat some specific comments.
Re P-B and the question about whether things might improve.
I was asking in the hope of hearing from someone connected to the logistics industry. Or from someone at Meh who deals with them.
As for opinions for the apparently uninformed (which includes me) those opinions are “just our individual opinions”.
(Based on some degree of personal experience and shared experience, but hardly qualifying as “informed”).
It’s fine with me if some people think that P-B is universally horrible and will never improve.
The remark about P-B services in general not sucking some of the time:
Many of my shipments handled by P-B shipped just fine. And so have many other people’s.
If P-B’s services were a universal clusterfuck all the time, there would be constant “shipping probs” and “I hate P-B” topics” ever since the switch that happened. (I think about a year ago?)
Instead, these topics are infrequent. Ergo, some times, the shipping doesn’t suck.
(Or else, people are so otherwise busy or beaten down that they don’t have the energy to complain; but I personally doubt this second possibility.)
Also:
From having heard the opinion of people who work full time in biz, corp, and industrial shipping for decades;
who do not work for P-B and never have;
but sometimes work with them. And who sometimes work with other shipping/logistics companies.
And sometimes these people deeply hate dealing with P-B;
and sometimes they sincerely wish they were dealing with P-B instead of dealing with some other company that’s even worse.
@Kidsandliz @RiotDemon
This is a complex merger. I’m assuming full integration might take a decade or more.
@benjaMEHn @f00l before Covid, the only issues I had with Newgistics is that there wasn’t as many updates as smart post. After, the issue is that it sits at some sorting facility for days before moving again.
PB is not the only shipper I’ve had issues with lately. UPS and FedEx have given me shipping ETAs and then missed them by several days. I currently have a package that was handed off to USPS 2 days ago without being sorted for delivery when it normally gets delivered the same day it arrives at USPS. I had one package that was handed off to the shipper and then it didn’t move for ten days.
I’ve been ordering more stuff than ever so I don’t have to go out into a store unless necessary and they are all hit hard.
I guess I’m just more patient than other people. At work I had people confused and people fucking livid because of stuff being out of stock due to Covid. I just look at them and wonder if they are unaware of how the world works.
@benjaMEHn @f00l @RiotDemon
There are plenty of people out there who have no clue about many things, including what I would call really basic things (apparently not really basic) with respect to how things work in this world.
@smigit2002 Ooh, data! I like data! Thank you. I agree that shipping for something over $50 should be better than that. That pretty much sucks.
@Barney @benjaMEHn @narfcake @sammydog01 @mike808 @RiotDemon @f00l The issue I see right now is that the complaint about a shipping company thread was turned into by some but certainly not all of the people posting on this thread, an attack on the individual who started the complaint thread and on one other person. In my opinion that is inappropriate. Arguing about the pros and cons using that shipping company is reasonable. Making derogatory personal attacks on people who don’t like how that company is operating (or for other reasons) is out of line.
@Barney @benjaMEHn @f00l @Kidsandliz @mike808 @narfcake @sammydog01 people can disagree here, there is no rule against that. When you tell people that they aren’t allowed to talk in the thread because the topic says something different and call them assholes for doing so, people are going to get defensive.
@Barney @benjaMEHn @f00l @mike808 @narfcake @RiotDemon @sammydog01 People were going to get defensive due to multiple attacks that took place on this thread, at least one of which would qualify as trolling.
In my opinion the recent spate of personal attacks, some out of the blue, on multiple threads is inappropriate, works to destroy the sense of community that meh tried to develop early on and if our kids did this kind of thing we’d educate them and if it continued discipline them. As adults we all know better. Or at least should know better.
@Kidsandliz
that’s just plain inaccurate
The original poster doesn’t like Pitney Bowes & thinks they suck all the time and has some personal evidence and some evidence from others to support that point of view
so far so good
Because topics on meh are discussion topics, just like normal Internet forums, and therefore these topics are not topics limited to only the point of view of the original poster; other people chimed in with various opinions
So far so good
After which the original poster started, rather childishly and inaccurately, accusing other posters of behaving badly (and didn’t do a good job of it), apparently because these other posters at simply disagreed with the original post
And at this point things went downhill
A discussion of whether shipping through Pitney Bowes is always horrible, or whether it might improve, or whether it has any redeeming features, or whether there are cost-effective reasonable alternatives, would be a worthwhile one
Especially if it stayed intelligent
@f00l @Kidsandliz You’re really never wrong, are you?
But this is where your response returns to “my clique is never wrong so it must be the original poster that did something wrong” when in fact, one of your little buddies/trolls posted the comment that started this long string on responses. The individual posted a comment that basically called out everyone with a complaint about Pitney Bowes with the “facepalm” gesture showing disbelief that anyone could be so stupid. You can continue to refuse to acknowledge what happened as is typical of this group when they gang up on someone.
You and I (and many others on this site) know your history. You’re the smartest person here and everyone that doesn’t agree with you is dumb - we get it. When was the last time you changed your opinion or acknowledged you were wrong? My guess is you probably can’t think of many instances and that definitely says something about your intelligence.
@benjaMEHn @f00l @Kidsandliz
Get your own meta-topic room, y’all.
Take this over to this topic.
@benjaMEHn
Ok.
@mike808
My apologies. : )
@narfcake I’m fine with really slow shipping. And if they had said that the t item would be delivered by June 15th (for example) I wouldn’t complain. But the original estimated delivery dates were may 26-june 1. It was shipped may 26 and has been sitting in my son’s city in Arkansas and was marked “Picked up and Processed by Agent” whatever the hell that means. It is now June 8th and no movement since 5/29. Are they delivering it by stage coach?? Carrier pigeon?
@ivannabc @narfcake. Traveling the USA!!
One shipment arrived 1 month AFTER its latest arrival date. Another has been sitting for 7 days on “Picked up and processed by agent”!
We allow for some delays in shipping, but this is unacceptable! Even SmartPost was better!
Info on my order from last Mehrathon (and the only 2 entries on that tracking info):
May 19, 2020
4:22pm ET
Inducted into Pitney Bowes Network
Grapevine, TX
May 18, 2020
9:18pm ET
Electronic Shipping Info Received
Carrollton, TX
Apparently such an “induction” is a very solemn and exacting ceremony that takes days, if not weeks, of ripening in a warehouse, much as a sports Hall of Fame induction.
I don’t blame Meh for using the cheapest alternative to ship something that the customer paid zero money for the shipping (I have VMP), especially in the current circumstances of the transportation industry, but I sure as hell see plenty of reason to avoid that company for anything bordering on “business as usual” shipping.
Pretty pitiful if their core business of postage machines is also providing poor CS, as @ruouttaurmind informed us. I can think of several huge national businesses that had lousy CS and then died a slow death, as opposed to companies that have thrived on a rep of good CS, such as Amazon & Meh.
@DrWorm is totally at fault here.
@phendrick I am glad I paid $5 shipping… that’s what I got now after almost 20 days.
“ May 13, 2020
2:49pm ET
MAY
13
2020
Delivered to Pitney Bowes Facility
Bloomington, CA”
@phendrick Generally speaking companies work into the price of the product an amount to cover free shipping or a fixed price shipping. They can’t afford to eat it over and over again. They’d go out of business.
@Kidsandliz @phendrick
That’s one reason I am totally in AWE of the 100# pasta drop shipments!
@chienfou @Kidsandliz @phendrick well, there are also the 10# pasta drops.
The solution is to move…to Carrollton TX… next to the Medicore Labs…i think there are apts around there… bribe a Meh employee with pizza weekly to set your purchase outside and notify you via text…i believe this falls under the super secret MVIP package that i can help arrange for you for a one time fee of $1200… limited spots available…#sidehustle
@amehzinggrace Or Grapevine
@rtjhnstn Offering additional locals close to noted location can be obtained for an additional fee… however trysty package procurement cannot be guaranteed in said additional locations… standard rates apply…
Let’s hope meh makes a change. Pitney Bowes sat on every one of my packages for a minimum of 3 days. This never used to happen with orders.
@GBrunner321
UPS (“Big Brown” skidmark) will sit on a package that wasn’t paid to ship faster, even if the package is next door and you go to pick it up in person.
If the shipper paid for 5-day shipping, it ain’t getting there faster, no matter what. Because the shipper didn’t pay for it, even if UPS already did it.
@GBrunner321 @mike808 idk, I’ve gotten plenty of things from ups earlier than expected
@GBrunner321 I live near a distribution center, so that may have something to do with it, or they may hsve changed their minds about efficiency.
If I shipped stuff and it always got delivered in 2-3 days, why would I pay extra for 3-day delivery when paying less for 5-day delivery got it there in 3 days anyway?
They may have also done away with that tiered pricing of overnight, 2-3 days, and 5-day econo-ship.
While I don’t like Pitney Bowes and do yearn for the “good old days” of being able to track the FedEx packages, the cost of shipping has gone up and it’s going to go higher. I think for $4.99 a month we are getting a pretty good deal here and on the other Mercatalyst sites.
I guess I can wait the additional days. And if an order is lost, Customer Service is very good about issuing a refund.
I’ve had a Pitney Bowes postage machine for over 30 years. Not really cost effective for me as the lease costs far exceed what I use in postage each month. But have it for the convenience as not having to go to the PO and always using the correct postage saves a lot of time and grief.
But I can echo what others have said-Pitney Bowes is a company who has never had their act together-all they care about is screwing the consumer and getting as much money out of us as they can.
@Felton10 maybe you should check out stamps.com and use promo code Penn. That could cut your lease expense significantly.
@djslack Actually a subscription to stamps.com comes with as part of the lease for the meter, but then I’d have to print the postage on my computer. Just easier to slide the letter through the machine or use the postage tape strips for larger envelopes-old habits are hard to break. But thanks for the advice anyway. Love the way I can just download postage to machine over the internet when it runs low.
@djslack @Felton10 I was turned on to pirate ship by folks on here. I don’t mail a lot (although I have been during the pandemic) and I really like it.
Meh. They’re slow, but it usually gets to you eventually.
The one time an item didn’t make it to me, meh refunded my money.
Somewhere in Indiana, a Pitney Bowes employee is probably sleeping easy on my Meh pillows.
Or not. If the pillows were that great, would they have been here in the first place?
Jokes on you, PB Napper!
@TheSuss They have top men looking into it.
/giphy Top. Men.
@TheSuss
At least with SmartPost we were told the box dimensions and weights. It was fun to guess
@MrMikenIkes Yes… “back in the old day’s youngin’s”… and in fact we didn’t even have to walk both ways up hill back then either. Although I must admit that the wheel had not yet been invented. Nor fire.
/giphy good old days
UPS has gotten bad in the past 3 weeks too. Packages appear to go out for delivery every day, I’ve seen up to 15 days, and each day, get delayed another day. Also seen similar with getting smartpost to USPS, where UPS says it was delivered to USPS for a couple of days in a row.
@kevinrs It’s not like we’re in a global pandemic or something like that.
@Collin1000 if a package apparently went on the truck and back to the shipping center every Monday through Saturday from may 1 to may 15, making 12 trips, after nearly a week to get to the shipping center, something is wrong. This is the worst case I’ve seen in my immediate family, but there were a bunch of other packages to multiple addresses delayed 3-5 days like this.
If at a big location that’s getting 20-30 UPS packages every day but Sunday, multiple items show out for delivery but don’t show up at the store, and do the same for the next couple of days, something is wrong that breaks the common theory for the first cases being that the truck is just loaded with too much to get delivered in one day. They either are scanning items onto the truck even if they don’t fit on the truck or something similar.
I realize they dropped the on time guarantee back in March, but they really need to prioritize already delayed at the destination center packages to be delivered the next day or the day after.
@Collin1000 @kevinrs if everyone just drank a shot of bleach each night the pandemic would end.
@Collin1000 @kevinrs @OnionSoup And if we all had bleach every night meh would no longer have any customers and then would go out of business.
@Collin1000 @kevinrs @Kidsandliz and it would all be P.Bs fault.
@DrWorm bought your mom that necklace you hated.
I never get late order except for Pitney Bowes. When they receive a package, I have to wait and wait til I can’t remember what I ordered anymore. Seriously, use the USPS, Fed-ex, or UPS.
Still waiting on speakers purchased on the 2nd - apparently College Park, Georgia is where Pitney Bowes orders go to die.
@scfd0766 I’ve had orders hang around long enough to pick up an MBA while in College park, Ga.
I thought pitney blows was in the time clock or typewriter business. WTF are they doing in freight ???
I think they want to go out of business and file for bankruptcy. Why don’t they just go into their closets and hang themselves before someone like me finds them.
Some different tracking sites within the pb network I’ve found:
https://tracking.pb.com/ Will list both the USPS tracking and the partner carrier.
http://tracking.smartlabel.com/default.aspx (Newgistics tracking, shows the tracking for the FDR partner carrier, doesn’t give much else info, but actually gives a delivery estimate.)
Yes, PB sucks. But it’s also meh, and it wouldn’t be the same if the items arrived in a timely fashion.
I ordered something from another company who used Newgistics / PB. After receiving the item in mid-May, it “arrived” at their Commerce, CA facility three days out of four. Then it went to the ever-fun Greenwood, IN location where it has sat for nearly a week. Originally this was a Mother’s Day gift, ordered mid-April. Gotta love it.
Admittedly my own experience with PB lines up with everyone else’s; at least one of my items was shipped back to meh and is making the trip a second time. Shipped may 18 and it might be here around June(ish).
Am I mad? Not as mad as I’d be if I bought it from amazon. After thinking about why I’m not mad I think I figured out why: where else can you openly bitch about the hilariously bad shipping and not have it taken down/have e company go all PC on you?
I’ve come to expect hilariously bad shipping from meh, yet I still shop here. Would I pay more a month for better shipping, maybe? I get what I pay for with the shipping here, so I just take it with a few ice cubes and a glass of Lagavulin 16.
Yes I’m a heathen that likes it with ice, bring on the haters, lol.
It’s pretty simple, PB are licensed criminals.
My MorningSave order that shipped 11 days ago made it to Indiana on the 20th and it’s been stuck there ever since. It still says USPS is awaiting the item. This is worse than the stupid SmartPost crap that woot sent BOCs through.
@melwin Later SmartPost or early? – because the early SmartPost wasn’t smart at all. I recall tales of packages being transferred back and forth between two depots because the Wooter lived right in between the two and each depot treated the other one as the closer one before “last mile”. Packages routinely went on scenic routes too, often detouring another 1,000+ miles before heading towards their actual destination.
@narfcake I started buying from woot in 2004 and I don’t remember anything about the shipping process back then, but starting in 2009 I would track my packages, which would go right past me from Texas to St. Louis, then back to Kansas City, then down to where I live in southwest Missouri. Not far away, but always going in circles. Now the packages are going from PB in Texas to PB in Greenwood, Indiana before going somewhere still yet unknown. So far two packages have made it to Greenwood and got stuck for almost a week now.
The below is the shipping tracking for my Mediocritee shipping. Multiple times it took the same trip. I know things are short staffed, but how do you keep saying something left somewhere, arrived somewhere else, but then go back to where it was?
And per the USPS, the package is still in Indiana.

Came on here today expecting to find a thread about this. My package, that when I ordered it, said it should ‘arrive’ between today and the 28th was “inducted” into the Pitney Bowes network in Grapevine, TX on May 19th. Supposedly it ‘departed’ the Pitney Bowes network on May 20th at 3:14pm ET but I have yet to see it do anything further and USPS says they are still awaiting the item as of 4:14pm that same day. Maybe PB is keeping all of our Meh packages to resell at a later date.
I was hoping I wasn’t the only person dealing with this. I have 7 packages I’m waiting on from meh. Three of them have been sitting somewhere in my city for the last 3 to 6 days. The first package meh shipped made it to a city an hour away from me and has been sitting there for 7 days. The only thing I hope is that meh only pays like a penny to ship each package.
Still waiting on those speakers that had their shipping label created back on the 6th…
So slow I’ve forgotten what I ordered. I panic every time a box shows up and my spouse asks what I bought…
IDK. I don’t think I’ve ever used them.
COVID-19 appears to have ruined the Hertz rental cars business; could Pitney Bowes be another victim, or have they been performing poorly since before the pandemic?
I wonder about the accuracy of tracking data too. Is it legal to ship and track a package yourself? For example, could you activate, then box and ship, a radio transponder which you could then track in real time and compare your tracking to the tracking data?
/giphy country old men
@eonfifty they have definitely gone down hill since COVID.
@eonfifty I am pretty sure their tracking isn’t all that accurate. They changed mine retroactively to take out most of the wandering around, round trips… If it is accurate they sure could save a lot of money not sending them on round trips multiple times.
I’m looking forward to tracking my t-shirt through the Pitney Bowes system.
/giphy exciting
No roundtrip trips between Texas and Indiana yet.
/giphy hopeful crossed fingers
The USPS in Indianapolis processed my shirt today. Estimated delivery Monday according to the post office’s tracking.
/giphy on it’s way
Got my shirt today. Thanks Pitney Bowes and USPS
/giphy delivered
God help us if Pitney Bowes if involved in delivering our crap. Bunch of stuff I ordered is going nowhere fast.
When your phone charger manufactured in 2012 is ordered in 2020 on meh expect to receive it in 2035.
… Thank Pitney Blowes.
/giphy sci fi antique
I left Meh a couple of years ago and recently decided to come back. Ain’t what it used to be, shipping was never an issue. Like many, I have a package sitting in Texas going nowhere fast. Under the current circumstances I’m willing to be patient but am reluctant to order anything else until I have some idea when and if I’ll get my packages. The fact Meh will refund orders not delivered is reassuring but why order something if you all you receive is your money back later?
My concern is why Meh chose PB as its shipping service. I’m assuming low cost because it sure can’t be PB’s reputation. They are truly one of the worst in the business. The COVID issue has probably exaggerated the weakness of its operations. I hope a reputable seller like Meh will get this sorted out or find an alternate shipper.
@wineplus meh chose newgistics which was bought by PB and only very recently has PB finally integrated the two shipping services into one.
@Kidsandliz Thanks for the clarification. Integrated or not, the concern is PB dragging the Newgistics group down to their level.
I’ll just jump on the bitchin’ (not in the cool way) bandwagon. PB is the absolute worst. Come on @meh. Help us out on this one.
@bfields01 btw, when you tag @meh, you are tagging a user that doesn’t work for meh.
@bfields01 @meh @RiotDemon You should tag @barneybot instead as he is the CEO of meh and a verified bot to boot.
@bfields01 @meh @OnionSoup @RiotDemon
I am the supreme ruler of all things meh.
I have been waiting for my 3 3-gallon Bubba Coolers for over a month since they were shipped. I bought these for a great price, since I liked the 1 gallon version I bought. I’ve got other items hung up by Pitney Bowes, but this one is the oldest. It even shows it’s been in my city since April 28th.

One explanation why things might be worse with PB recently. Googling Pitney Bowes news I find several recent articles indicating that they’ve been hacked repeatedly.
Two weeks ago (which roughly coincides with when they took a turn for the “even worse”) they got hit with Maze ransomware.
There’s a good chance that they shut down traffic too and from a lot of there servers to plug security holes, which is why it’s taking them longer than normal and why we’re not getting updates.
So the good news from this: this might be a temporary glitch. The bad news is: another group of hackers has all your data and knows about the order you placed at mylittleponysexdolls.com
@OnionSoup thanks for the info!
@OnionSoup Maybe that explains this:
@sammydog01 I got something equally convoluted. About 10 notifications in a row from the 18th until today saying it arrived or received (or some variation of that) in College Park, Ga. One of those being 4:29 arrived in GA. Then at 4:39 (10 mins later) it made the 4hr journey and arrived in SC… Then 6 something says it arrived back in Georgia again.
@OnionSoup Stuff is arriving at my house without showing as arriving. Fortunately the USPS daily digest is pretty good about showing packages.
Pitney.
F@#%ng.
Bowes.
Detention center for my happiness.
So far I’ve seen that many of the shipments people have had trouble with passed through the FDR facility in Grapevine, TX (or more accurately, sat neglected at that facility, which is where I currently have a package stuck, HOORAY). But that could just be me noticing what relates to me.
From now on, Imma always pay for ANY non-Newgistics/PB shipping option.
@bmjones7514 I have a package stuck there too, what’s funny is a couple things shipped after that one have also gone through Grapevine without issue and didn’t bing the other one with them.
I wonder if Meh has asked PB to update our orders or if just a coincidence… Mine all got an updated that they arrived at College Park, GA.
… Of course they were delivered to College Park Ga a week ago.
Not sure the difference between “delivered” and “arrived”… I assume it means the delivery truck dropped them off a week ago and they’ve only now just been checked in. They’ve sat in an empty trailer for a week waiting to be checked in.
Still… It’s a step forward and probably means my packages still exist and haven’t been burnt in the fiery pits of Mordor.
@OnionSoup If they asked, you got preferential treatment! Mine is still exactly the same as when I made my original complaint… Been sitting at the Pitney Bowes facility since 5:30am EST on May 15th… the Pitney Bowes facility is less than a mile from my house. You take a right and then a little later you take a left and you’re here. Must be a lot of logistical shit to compute and certify and then re-certify before they can move the package, right? I mean, there’s no way it’s just sitting there untouched for 2 weeks, right?! Ha.
Seven days later… this seems bad, regardless of the value of the order.
@opivp99 My theory is that Pasta Drop was so successful it crippled Pitney Bowes. They sold so much pasta the entire shipping industry has been brought to it’s knees. The country is doomed- buried in pasta that will never make it through the warehouses of the US demesnes.
Every employee of mediocre-mercatalyst-checkout.org (whatever they call themselves today) is now a pasta-billionaire.
/giphy pasta billionaire
@OnionSoup That seems reasonable… or… they suck. Either way.

@rtjhnstn So you can add lying about tracking to the grocery list of complaints.
@rtjhnstn Mine had the same problem (but didn’t say PB Network as they started to do just days later). Tracking claimed my actual zip code post office had it. There were two problems with that. The first one is there is no actual post office with my actual zip code. My zip code is covered by a different zip code post office. The second problem is that it hadn’t been scanned into into that post office. When I showed them the tracking they went and looked and saw no package (this is not a huge post office either). Tracking was then retroactively changed, after delivery to me (while it was listed as in transit to a destination unspecified which was the last tracking shown prior to delivery to me), to show a straight shot and no wandering around making duplicate trips. Yeah right. If they actually tried to figure out where something is I’d suspect they’d never be able to find it.
@Kidsandliz I’ve now learned to check USPS for the actual tracking information.
@rtjhnstn My USPS tracking says my package is still in IN and is on its way to the USPS. The PB tracking says it’s in my town as of yesterday evening which means it should be delivered today. I’ll be curious to see which is correct and how long it takes either of them to update once it finally is delivered.
This is worthy of a Pulitzer prize for tracking- I love how many times it got “picked up” in Georgia.
I wonder if two warehouse workers were thinking “I wonder what’s in the box?”
“I don’t know, Earl, why don’t you pick it up and shake it, see if you can guess”
“I can’t figure it out… Let’s ask Hank when he gets in in two hours…”
“Hey Hank, pick this package up and shake it see if you can figure out what it is.”
The above scenario is all I can think why they kept picking it up.
@OnionSoup I like the time warp near the top as well. It managed to be picked up and processed in SC 2 hours before it left GA.
I ordered 5 things on May 15, have not received even one thing yet, somethings were in NJ for over 8 days, just checked one thing hasn’t even made it out of Texas yet. And, also agree, the shipping information keeps changing. I have free shipping for a month, but not sure how much longer I will be at this location, so can’t really order anything else. So, yes, Pitney Bowes isn’t helping your business plan.
Well, as of today, the tracking updated to show that yesterday my package has finally moved to a different state (NJ). I wonder how long it will vacation there before moving on to its next unknown destination. So far, my personal experience with PB has been no better than my business experience with them. They still suck.
Wait until the USPS is privatized, and Pitney Bowes gets the contract to handle the mail-in votes for the 2020 elections.
@mike808 LOL (not)
@mike808 you thought (pick one Trump/Obama) was bad, wait until only one mail in ballot arrives in time for the count of the 2020 election and it’s a write in for
President Justin Bieber.
Finally the country will be unified by universal loathing.
/I know… Not 35 and not born in US… But it’s not like the constitution matters anymore so he would probably get the job
i’m mostly annoyed that the anagram of Pitney Bowes is “web toy penis”
@carl669 It’s too bad I couldn’t think of any other anagrams from that.
Jeremy Irons?
@narfcake gold for Simpsons reference.
@carl669 @narfcake Too bad the name isn’t Pitney Bowes Systems. That, in my mind, would be instantly changed to Pure Bull Shit.

Not sure if related or not, but I’ve got a few of these:

Although order history doesn’t show anything shipped, so I have no idea which order they’re for
@lichme liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiich!
@carl669 Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarl!!!
How odd … my shipping information has now been radically “cleaned up”. Still no delivery; but most of the info is deleted, at least 3/4 of the various entries, & one locality stop in Orlando altogether. Definitely have the feeling that anything I buy for XMAS better be purchased before August 1st.
@scfd0766 That happened to me too. What happened in one of the cases was that the package was delivered while it was still listed as elsewhere and then they cleaned it up. Maybe this is a good thing and your package will show up shortly? (Yeah I know. Better not define shortly in a traditional way).
On my various packages ordered on the 15th, none have arrived, meh is estimating delivery Tuesday May 26-Thursday May 28 on all of them.
Some haven’t had tracking update since the 19th, a lot don’t appear to have left Texas. One appears on meh to have bounced from Texas to Indiana and back, and wow, I check tracking on pitney bowes directly and
This one’s still not arrived. They sent pre shipment info to UPS the 29th, and it’s in transit at Bloomington again the 30th.
I don’t know if that’s worse or the ones that were shipped the same day and only have 3 lines: Shipping info received, Arrived at shipping facility, In Transit, all still in Grapevine. Those 2 are at a week and a half and over 2 weeks since last scan.
They must have a first in last out issue, and UPS seemed to have it too(but only at the local center), but they seem to have fixed it. Actually it seems like PB may leave the package on the truck if the warehouse is full, and the truck goes back across the country and fills back up.
Irk stuck at Pitney Bowes grapevine since May 13th. No new entries in the last 15 days.
@scilynt try going to the pitney bowes site, and put the tracking number in there, and look at the FDR tracking. Seems to show more scans than looking at meh. Though you could see evidence that your package is bouncing around, and in some cases breaking some speed limits going back and forth across the country
One of the nice things that Pitney Bowes seems to be doing for Meh is physically shipping the delivery confirmation back to the sender through the delivery network.
On most things I’ve ordered I get the email from Meh that my item was delivered about a week after I’ve gotten the item. I guess to remind me of what I bought.
I have 3 orders with Meh in the last couple of weeks, all of which have been stuck at Pitney Blows for the last 10 days.
Fuck, they could have strapped my orders to the back of a camel and pointed it in my general direction with a slap and they would have gotten here by now.
I know the virus has slowed things down, but 10 days doesn’t count as slow, 10 days is STOPPED.
I also have a package stuck “sitting still” at the pitney bowes facility in grapevine texas… I don’t understand!! Im only a few hours from there so if they would ship it I would have it tomorrow! But its been there for going on 9 days now!!!- uuuggghhh. Id like to add I ordered this package on the 1st of March. Still nothing. It has nit moved since May 18th!!!
@akarakra They’ll probably ship it to Greenville, IN next where it will sit too. Think isosceles triangle. In my case between me and TX is the short side and it does that too. Then it will go on vacation in various other parts of the country. After that, so the package’s overlords don’t eventually find out, they will delete most of the vacation history. Then after being drop kicked a bunch the package will limp into your neighborhood and eventually show up on your porch. Meanwhile the tracking will have no idea.
Exciting news: I received an update for the first time since May 15th!
Less exciting news: May 15th never happened. It doesn’t exist. Here’s the new tracking information:
It used to say the package arrived at the Pitney Bowes facility in Little Rock on May 15th. Now it says it never arrived there but was still processed by someone in Little Rock (who knows where?) and then it disappeared for 2 weeks before reappearing in… you guessed it! Grapevine, TX!
Another interesting development - tracking.pb.com used to say “From: Carrollton, TX. To: Little Rock, AR” but now it looks a lot like @kevinrs image above. “From: Carrollton. To: <BLANK>”
WTFuck is goin on?
USPS says there are 3 items from mediocre headed my way, but meh only shows 1 of the 3 as as shipped. The one that it reports as shipped sat in Grapevine for 5 days before finally leaving. Newgistics gave up displaying a delivery date because PB is already past the expected date.
Q for anyone w overview data:
Has Newgistics always been this bad?
or did they get notably worse after joining up w PB?
@f00l they got notably worse once most of the world went into quarantine and more and more packages needed to be delivered.
@Ignorant
K thx
Woohoo… Finally got my first April 15th Mehrathon item. Pissy Bowels are moving again! Cuisinart knives… Let’s get stabby!
Pastadrop website is down, wanted to check if Spaghettini was still stuck in Texas (had been in Texas from 20th through yesterday… Not sure if moved today)… Having an item delivered filled me with hope that one day the pasta will arrive too.

Mine says it was delivered to a Pitney Bowes location in my town on April 30…never got it…and I have two things coming pitney bowes…don’t have high hopes of getting them…I’ll cry if my irk is sent that way…
Just a heads up, email customer service and let them know if your package is stuck. I had one stuck for 10 days and got a refund. Would much rather had the item I paid for than wasting weeks waiting on it.
Seems like finding a new shipping partner would be better for the company than issuing refunds and garnering ill will from their customers. But I’m just an idiot who still buys stuff from here so what do I know. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
@thewynner
there is prolly a contract involved.

I don’t think i’ll order again till meh changes partners or i read on these forums that the problems are fixed. No deal is worth it if you can’t get your order.
Pitney Bowes website has a notice: Due to a significant increase in parcel volume related to COVID-19, you may experience a delay of 10 or more days in receiving your order, depending upon its origin.
10 or more days… so it’s open ended
Anyone member when a mod joked about this being just “another shipping thread?” I member. Hopefully meh takes notice more than their inept mods. Or those mods are doing a disservice to the site they appear to represent by not forwarding legit complaints from its users.
@thewynner ::eyeroll::
@Ignorant one crony showed up. How many more of the “meh masters of the forum” will try and downplay legitimate complaints? Your forum clique is sad and it’s pretty pathetic you guys utilize this to drown out folks who have actual concerns about the site. This shit has been going on since I hit the internet and BBS back in the late 90’s, so honestly it is pretty pathetic you guys deem this forum as some social achievement.
@thewynner no one is trying to drown out anyone, otherwise this whole topic would’ve just been deleted…and that would be inept.
@thewynner do you honestly think that we don’t talk to the people that run meh?
There is only so much that can be done when there is a pandemic that is slowing down shipping.
@RiotDemon And so many goobers ordering drones. (Mine should be here soon!)
@RiotDemon @thewynner All shippers have been affected by the pandemic. However, some adapt better than others. PB’s doesn’t appear to have adapted at all.
Having dealt with PB’s in a previous workplace, I’m not surprised. Pandemic or not, they have seemingly always been a poor operation.
My items are still God knows where from mehathon… I’m done with meh. There are more worthy charities I can donate to.
Curious if this package took a steam boat up the Mississippi…
I’ve got like 4-5 orders in shipping limbo. The oldest one is almost 3 weeks old, and Pitney Bowes still hasn’t delivered it to the post office. At this point I’m questioning why I bother buying stuff here anymore. I might as well just click the Amazon link they post and get it delivered in 2 days instead of waiting a month+ to save 10-20%.
@aardWolf oldest one 3 weeks? Your wait is now 50% over then.
There have been a few things I almost bought but then asked myself “will I still want this two months from now” and because the answer was no, I didn’t buy.
Just want to be clear we understand the problem: massive increases in shipping are causing delays from our carrier, all over, but especially in the west, as mentioned above. We’re working on any solutions we can - both with them and on our own.
Unfortunately I don’t have an immediate answer, but I wanted to make sure it’s clear we know this is a problem and it’s something we’re paying close attention to and working on.
@dave honestly , it’s not just the wait as much as it is how mangled up the last several items I ordered have been when they arrived. I fear for my brittle Spaghettini. By the time it arrives how much of if will be smashed to smitherines by the PB brutes? PB isn’t exactly careful with the boxes, the slowness isn’t out of carefulness.
Fortunately it’s been mainly the packaging so far and contents inside have miraculously survived, but whenever I see a smashed up meh box on my doorstep I panic at first that my beloved cheap junk inside is ruined.
@dave @OnionSoup
Could you use the shattered pasta pieces in
/image onion soup?
Aside: for whatever reason, French onion soup was not a part of my upbringing cuisine.
This is a notable and painful lack.
But I still remember the first time (incl when and where) I tasted proper onion soup:
At the now sadly vanished 24-hour Brasserie in the Seagram Building in Manhattan.
The Brasserie was never a foodie paradise. But it was a fine place to be, once upon a time, at 4am in Manhattan.
Been a fan of onion soup ever since.
@dave @OnionSoup the packages I’ve gotten have been fine. They just took a nap at their FDR facilities. Honestly I wonder if they are just sitting in a trailer waiting to be unloaded.
@dave @OnionSoup @RiotDemon My Spaghettini was delivered undamaged – lots of bubble wrap to protect it. But then I saw @Raider’s… It was pretty awful.
@f00l I think I had mentioned this here once upon a time, but I too have a fond memory of long lost onion soup in Manhattan. There used to be a full service restaurant in the bottom level of the Macy’s at Herald Square. I had French Onion Soup there that was far and away the best I had ever tasted. For years I chased that dragon, trying to find something closer to home that compared, with no success. Flash forward years later and we returned to New York for a weekend. Looking forward to another bowl of that delicious elixir, we headed to Macy’s. Down we go in the elevator, the excitement growing along with the rumbles in my tummy. The doors open and what do we see? A fucking cafeteria. They closed the restaurant and opened a damn cafeteria. The dragon died…
@cinoclav
Yeah that’s sad.
Re the fate of the Brasserie:
The Seagram building in Manhattan contained 2 eateries: the best known was the famous The Four Seasons restaurant, for foodies, the rich, celebs, and power-lunch-types.
And in the same building was the wonderful Brasserie, open 24 hours once upon a time, v nice food, priced for “we the masses of the financial proletariat”.
Interiors of both restaurants were famously relaxing,/stimulating (simultaneously), and v handsome; both designed by building architect Philip Johnson.
The Seagram building has changed hands a few times over the years. And finally the current owners decided they wanted something new a few years back. They chose not to renew the restaurant leases.
So both of the the original (and both famous) restaurants closed.
There is a new restaurant in the building, which is a sort of pale imitation of The Four Seasons.
I kinda hope that the new places loses money, and that the building owners have to subsidize it. I know that just about no one talks about the new spot as a place one would especially want to go.

So these are the guys that still haven’t delivered my pasta to the USPS. I kept trying to figure out who it was since the tracking number didn’t work on any of the other better known shippers. I’ve been pasta-less for ages now and going out to buy pasta when I know I have a $20 worth of pasta drop coming in is ridiculous. PASTA!!!
@ELUNO yup Pitney Bowes are pasta thieves they stole my pasta too!
The tracking number does seem to work with USPS too though… It just won’t show you anything before the last few days before delivery… The first month or so of shipping you have to look at Pitney Bowes website for info.
Oddly there seems to be two different website for Pitney Bowes tracking. You want the one that asks for tracking number not package number. I don’t recall the URL, I just know I originally went to the wrong one
@ELUNO @OnionSoup https://pitneybowes.shipment.co/track/YOURTRACKINGNUMBER
@aardWolf @OnionSoup Thank you good sirs.
@aardWolf @OnionSoup So it did in fact have a 10 day delay of it sitting at their warehouse. Good (or neutral I shall say) news is that this does provide the weight and I am getting the standard rate of $1 per pound.
@aardWolf @ELUNO @OnionSoup while I find I’m, along with others getting the ripoff rate of $2 per pound
I’ve been flooding @pitneybowes Twitter account with terrible reviews. It doesn’t do anything but it makes me feel better. They keep blaming the problem on MEH
30 days from Tx to Ventura. That’s not acceptable. I’ve complained way too many times to no avail. MEH will still be shipping thru Pitney Bowes and that won’t do. As soon as my package arrives, I’m cancelling emails and everything with MEH as they are not responsive.
005269000075314583
They should put a sticker on the box at every location. I want my packages to look like the trunks and suitcases in the old cartoons.
Woohoo my pasta finally arrived, as did another item I bought during the mehrathon.
From what I can tell of the pastadrop box looking at it through the doorbell can, it looks in one piece and undamaged. (I can only see a small part of it though).
Things are beginning to move … And more things will move once the pasta gets in me.
@OnionSoup Are you gonna post about how it moves through your system? You know…inducted into OnionSoup…stopped at stomach for three days …returned to esophagus…entering lower bowel…returned to stomach…exited system with slight damage…
Rec’d most of my orders from Meh-a-thon, but 2 pkgs del’d to my “agent” on May 28th, one arrived May 29th, and the other seems lost in space (ironically it is the trackers that are missing) and I have no idea who delivers for Pitney Bowes here, but not looking good for my little package and no one to contact.
Plus, in a pretty small town in CT, doubt there is a Tsunami of packages.
Spam @pitneybowers on Twitter. It’s fun when they respond and blame meh… ordered on the 15th of May and it’s still in NJ, the same place it’s been over a week. Can’t order from Meh again til they find a new shipper.
@admiralpoopants Mine has been in NJ since 5/17. Wonder at what point it gets considered lost and should reach out to CS…
@admiralpoopants @Raider I’ve had them sit in a warehouse for two weeks and then all of a sudden it zipped along to my house passing through other warehouses quickest.
I don’t think they do “first in first out”, I think they move boxes into a warehouse until truck arrives and then load what can fit on, regardless of how long the package has sat there for.
So if your package arrives when stock is empty for packages destined to a delivery site it gets put on the bottom and never sent until they move all the boxes from on top of it first.
I think they literally pile boxes in mountains on top of each other which is why so many get delivered so mutilated.
@admiralpoopants @OnionSoup @Raider
hmmm wonder what we get
/image box mountain
/giphy box mountain
@OnionSoup Amazingly that happened to this! Last night suddenly it moved. Now I don’t know what scan to believe after. First showed it arrived in town it will be delivered in, a bit later it showed it was back on the other side of the Hudson (but different area of NJ)…
Since speaking worked last time I wonder if the package “Picked up and Processed by Agent” in my town on 5/28 will ever take the final step and make it to my door.
Let’s try this again. Amusement, some from the last mehrethon, some - who the fuck knows. pastadrop? mehbe at least one.
(and i hate it when you crop and the crop goes away)
@Cerridwyn Screenshot instead. I’ve never had that problem when doing that.
Another day, another great delivery. Today I picked a box up that jingled when I picked it up…I didn’t recall ordering anything that should make sound and then it hit me “Oh no, wine glasses!” When opened amazingly only 1 of the 4 was smashed, but smashed all the same. Another day, another CS e-mail…
The absolute worst. For context, I live in Pittsburgh.
I too have to chime in about the horror that is Pitney Bowes. This is flat out shipping Hell! Honestly the good people that allowed Meh and the Meh empire to grow deserve better. This is pure horse shit. If it does not change, I too will look at the neuralyzer from the Men in Black and forget I ever heard of Meh.
Meh, you must do better!

@pepepornstar Well, that looks more like buying stuff on ebay/amazon that has ~30 day free shipping, where the cost to return it would be many times the total cost of the order.
Well now the site says shipping is delayed 10+ days. I guess we will have to wait and see if they have the decimal point in the wrong place and if the “+” is the operative number here.
@Kidsandliz since I’m up to 19+ days on items that haven’t made it to USPS yet, and some haven’t left texas, I thing the + is a big part of it.
Mine says picked up in TX…that’s it…Pitney Bowes already snagged a speaker
@membrr Yeah, but which time was it picked up in Texas? 3rd or 7th?
June 1st for the irk…the speaker left CT on April 30th…I ended up getting a refund on it…but in the meh tracking system it shows delivered to Pitney Bowes location in NH on April 30th…which it may or may not have been it just never made it here…
I thought I already asked this, but can’t find it.
At what point should we be contacting customer service over this?
I’ve got 5 orders still in transit that were ordered May 15. 4 shipped May 18, 1 May 19.
2 appear to have not left Grapevine TX, one’s last scan was May 21, the other May 26.
The other 3 all show In Transit Bloomington CA May 30 as the most recent line, though one took 17 lines to get that far, and the other 2 took only 4.
These 5 orders are all over a week since last scanned, and up to 2 and a half weeks.
OK, I sent a message to customer service about the worst one: that hasn’t been scanned in 17 days. There is a message saying they will respond in 7 business days. If it takes that long for them to get to the message, if it hasn’t updated it’s going to be nearly a month without a scan, it will be time for them to figure something out anyway.
@kevinrs Sorry. They also use Pitney Bowes to host their email servers. They answer right away, but it takes them that long to get your message.
@lichme Honestly I probably would have given it a little more time if it wasn’t going to take 7 days for a response. Once websites are taking more than 30 days to get customers their products, if customers just take it, they lose options in case they never get their products like disputing charges.
7 business days is what customer service replies are supposed to take, so 9 real days. It’s been 5 since I asked customer service, and there’s been no activity on the tracking for my orders in that time. Answer is due by Wednesday, these orders show estimated delivery May 26-28, so running 12 business days late even if they arrive at post office today and get delivered Monday, by Wednesday will be 14 business days late
OK, just saying, finally got all of my mehathon orders, but weirdly deleted weird destinations, and showing shipments not moving for days in some locations and then moving within minutes to improbable locations and moving into my small town and then out of state, so, again, just saying, is this really accurate tracking? Whether my orders are taking a truly wild ride or tracking software is just a magical mystery tour, think you have some problems there. Longtime fan here, think you are a pretty trustable site, know things are weird everywhere at the moment, but, maybe better explanations of your logistical problems? Think you have a pretty sympathetic long term base, but, maybe share what is going wrong and why. I think your base will support you.
@mcc36 Pitney Bowes is the one that uploads the tracking, not meh.
@mcc36 I think the weirdness on the tracking is coming purely from the shipping company: Pitney Bowes. I do have to say that in the past I’ve occasionally seen weirdness from UPS. Nothing on this scale, and not lines and lines of packages apparently going back and forth across the country and locally like this, but occasional apparent packages returning to a previous location and occasional movement within minutes.
One place I can see where money might be saved whatever shipper is used is consolidating shipments when possible. Even on normal days, often an order doesn’t ship for a couple of days, and if you order something else, both orders may go out the same day or out of order. On a mehrathon day, some people may have tens of orders each shipping separately.
@mcc36
I think the tracking may be accurate.
I’m guessing mail from meh.com is of the lowest priority because it’s so inexpensive.
Packages from meh are usually, in my experience, too small to just throw in the back of a trailer, so I’m guessing they’re probably put into crates which are then put into the trailer.
I’m also guessing meh packages don’t get their own crates, so they’re probably crammed in there with packages from other businesses.
I wouldn’t be surprised if some of these low priority crates are loaded at the front end of the trailer and just ride along while higher priority packages are driven between Texas and Indiana just because it’s easier and quicker to not unload the entire trailer.
I think this method would allow the shipping company to meet all it’s contractual obligations with low priority shippers while at the same time getting in on that same-day and next-day pandemic shipping market.
/giphy might be accurate
@eonfifty @mcc36 Some of the tracking weirdness comes from PB using container tracking numbers. Individual packages are linked to the container number and when those numbers are scanned all the individual packages are updated. If the container barcode doesn’t get removed when it is emptied or it gets the wrong scan all the packages get incorrect updates. Other issues are the automatic computer updates. I think the computer is programmed to generate an update if there is not a scan after a certain amount of time. It assumes the scan was missed and fills it in. Since everything is delayed it is adding incorrect information to packages that are sitting waiting to be sorted. PB is doing worse than usual recently.
One package coming to me recently was “delivered” to my local post office Friday according to PB. I work there so I knew that was not correct. It did show up the following Tuesday for delivery Wednesday. I don’t know if PB is trying to shift the delay to USPS or just a fluke but definitely some issues in scanning. I know I am getting many more inquiries about delayed packages from all companies not just Meh.
TLDR: PB tracking lies.
@mcc36 @speediedelivery
I’ve been hearing commercials saying the postal service might end residential delivery because of the pandemic. Is that accurate?
/giphy every body lies
@eonfifty I have read that USPS will run out of money in June or September. There is a new postmaster general starting this month. There are laws about delivery that would need changed. I have zero official knowledge. I am way too low to hear anything but I don’t see too much happening soon. Mail volume is way down but packages are high. The other big issue this year is voting. Yes, pandemic but also essential so it is hard for me to imagine stopping delivery. Most places could not handle the volume if home delivery stopped. Changes need made to fix some of the problems so it will be an interesting process.
@speediedelivery I had the delivered to my zip code post office - umm problem in that my zip code doesn’t have its own post office. Then delivered to the actual post office my mail goes to - umm problem again as it wasn’t scanned in there (we were having to pick up our mail there as the post woman decided not to deliver to our apt building for a while. Who knows what was up with that). Then in transit to some unknown location. Then delivered about 5 or 6 days later maybe? Then the tracking suddenly was really different than it had been the entire time. Duplicate round trips removed, etc.
@eonfifty @speediedelivery Pitney Bowes is the reason why we shouldn’t let USPS go bankrupt.
Can you imagine if the USPS was run as badly as “P.Bowla”?
@OnionSoup @speediedelivery
IDK. So far, my meh shirt has been decent according to the tracking info. The post office got it yesterday, and shipped it off in my direction today. If there are no hiccups, I’m looking at two to three weeks shipping. Considering the pandemic, I don’t think that’s too bad, but it is much slower than most every order I’ve made in the past (usually less than a week ).
I live in a metropolitan area, so that probably has a lot to do with fast shipping. I’d imagine people with the long waits and crazily routed shipments are in rural or less densely populated areas.
But I do like the post office and hope it doesn’t go out of business.
/image Mr zip 3
@eonfifty @OnionSoup @speediedelivery I live in the state capital… my irks have taken all sorts of bizarre and repetitive routes all while taking ages. Mine is currently parked in Greenwood. Probably that town is that name because everything sits there so long that it turns green with mold thank you PB.
I forgot to post last Friday but wanted to give my weekly update!
My package, ordered April 15, 2020, with label created almost a month later on May 11th, 2020, “Arrived at USPS Delivery Unit” on June 5th, 2020 at 3:17PM! And I guess just to make me even more excited, it “Arrived at USPS Delivery Unit” again on June 5th, 2020 at 4:32PM! And then…
Nothing since. Normally it will say “Out for Delivery” once USPS has had it a day or 2 but… Nothing.
I’m at the point where I’m pretty confident it’s going to take 2 months to receive 1 package. I mean, it’s been 54 days since I placed the order. I don’t know if Pitney Bowes still has it or if they really delivered it to USPS and now they’re fucking up but damn. Anybody ever ordered cheap stuff on Wish? Or DHGate? I’m pretty sure that stuff only takes 3 weeks or so to get here from China. Maybe I’ll start searching for knock-offs of the items I’m interested in on one of those sites before ordering here.
@benjaMEHn I ordered three things from China within the last month.
One was cancelled because they can’t ship.
The other two changed their delivery date to August-September.
@RiotDemon You’re telling me they’ve got Pitney Bowes over there now, too?!
@benjaMEHn @RiotDemon knowing China they probably claim they created Pitney Bowes 1000 years ago and so now lay territorial claim to all land serviced by Pitney Bowes.
@benjaMEHn I had one that PB showed at the local post office on Friday. I work there, it did not actually arrive until the following Tuesday afternoon for delivery Wednesday.
Some of the “scans” are automated by the computer because that is what should be happening instead of the package actually being scanned.
I still haven’t gotten my pasta or stuff from mid may that is lost in the PITney BOWLs (capitals and misspellings intentional)
I hear this is in the pit, and maybe why we are so delayed
(let’s hope it works)
I bought 4 things during the last mehrathon. One item was delivered rather quickly. The other 3 are sitting at Pitney Bowes in my town and haven’t moved for 2 weeks. Thanks for stealing my money Meh. I’ll just file a complaint with PayPal and try to get my money back.
I will definitely NOT be ordering from meh ever again, as long as they use Pitney Bowes as a shipper. At least offer other shipping options.
I think I will pass on meh or any of their co’s until a different shipping co is used. I bought 2 BT speakers from sidedeal and they first took 12 days just to ship, and now they have been stuck Inducted in Grapevine TX for 7 days. Even if they move today I am looking at 10 days to reach me in MA. a month+ is too long for saving a few bucks. Sorry meh.
A big part of this is the covid overload, and it did hit UPS too, last month my sister was waiting almost a month for a package to arrive that was going “out for delivery” every day. I was also seeing multiple packages delayed like that for several days in a row, at a location that gets around a pallet of UPS packages every day. UPS and I guess most shippers dropped their on time guarantees back in March, and none of them seem to have in place processes to put already delayed packages at the front of the line. Shippers have Christmas level loads without having the year of lead time to prep, and an increased number of employees calling out sick.
Anyway, Meh has to have some stats on how many packages are delayed by how much, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they change shippers and/or shipping charges before too long.
This will sounds like the epitome of privilege whining but it looks like my IRK from May 15 may arrive before my IRK from April 15! The April 15 has been in transit, or stored in Pitney Bowes storage, for more than a month now. Both appear at least be local now but no further movement.
I’m worried considering how beat up usual “smoothly delivered” IRK boxes often are…a month on that rough road and I’ll be lucky if it still has 6 sides of the box, let alone tape
@scilynt I got an empty fuko once maybe 2 or so years ago. USPS had put a “received damaged” sticker on it and taped it shut. Otherwise no tape, no contents, no nothing. Considering the box was open and empty I was surprised it wasn’t smashed as hell.
Has anyone had any tracking updates this week?
I’ve got 7 orders in transit, 4 of them are from the mehrathon, and nothing has updated even with a pointless in transit at a location it’s already been since the 7th, which was a Sunday. Of course the worst is the one that was in grapevine on the 21st and hasn’t scanned since, but if they’ve stopped posting updates, maybe they noticed that people were complaining about orders appearing to bounce back and forth and not get anywhere.
@kevinrs
Yes. I’ve been seeing regular updates on the status of my mehrathon t-shirt. It took 27 days to arrive. I didn’t get a delivery confirmation email from meh until the next day though - that’s unusual.
According to the tracking, my shirt spent 18 days waiting to be picked up, and it spent 6 days chilling in Indianapolis. My shirt spent about 3 days in actual transit.
Interesting note: the tracking info shows the post office operating 24 hours a day with early a.m. timestamps, but all the Pitney Bowes updates are from between 6 a.m and 6 p.m. I wonder if the pandemic made Pitney Bowes eliminate a third shift.
/giphy chillin’ in Indy
@eonfifty We don’t know what the real numbers are on how many orders are being significantly delayed, or how much they are being delayed, Just going by the ~50% of my orders being delayed multiple weeks, and apparently customer support answers are taking over a week, I think meh has a problem, that if they don’t solve, they are going to have real damage to their reputation. They may soon be known for the delays more than anything else. I think they may need to dump pitney bowes, even if it means charging more for shipping or raising prices some.
i miss mediocre.
mediocre was fun. mediocre had a community i enjoyed. mediocre had shitty shipping that still got to you at a reasonable time considering vmp pricing. mediocre sent me socks.
@Noddy93 I wish I knew what happened to my mediocre socks. My mediocre socks were the best.
@OnionSoup I have a brand new pair you can have for postage.
My due date for delivery from Pitney Bowes was yesterday. If it doesn’t arrive soon, I’m going to reject it and make USPS return it to Meh, hopefully charging Meh for the service. It’d be only fair.
@bruceb28 They won’t return it. USPS will just put it in their “undeliverable” stack.
My favorite was watching my package go from Texas to North Carolina…where it was supposed to be delivered…and then head back to Texas before finally being routed to Georgia and then up to NC. I told my daughter it was the most well traveled gift she would receive.
i have one from pastadrop going back and forth between california and nevada
and it’s not for delivery in either of those states.
Think this is gonna end up costing Mercatalyst business in the long and maybe short run.
@Cerridwyn at least yours appears to be moving, mine’s 11 days in transit at grapevine
@kevinrs
that was the second one
the first one has been sitting … oh, 20 miles away for over a week now, if the scan is to be believed.
hey @snapster - can I walk over there and pick it up
/giphy snicker
@Cerridwyn @kevinrs pastadrop one is sitting in waco for two weeks… pastadrop two was delivered to waco 9 days ago. (different addresses). waco is 113 miles from the warehouse. received meh and morningsave orders placed after pastadrop #1.
i understand covid causing delays. i don’t understand covid completely screwing how you do your business.
and yet, since i’m a kickstarter and buying from this company since day zero i clicked buy again this morning. perhaps for the last time if this crap with PB isn’t straightened out.

/giphy PB
Honestly, i’m moving more and more towards cancelling membership before it renews mainly because of this. Half of what I ordered a month ago hasn’t arrived, and none of those have had tracking updates for a time ranging from a week to over 3. Customer service is backlogged. I just don’t think it’s worth the trouble unless they get these issues straightened out.
Something is going to have to be really good for me to decide to buy with these issues, a 50/50 chance of the item taking over a month isn’t appealing.
@kevinrs, that’s exactly where I am too. It’s 100% unacceptable. The failure to address it speaks volumes. I’d NEVER put the happiness of my customers in the hands of a business like Pitney Bowes.
@kevinrs @MrFred

"Just want to be clear we understand the problem: massive increases in shipping are causing delays from our carrier, all over, but especially in the west, as mentioned above. We’re working on any solutions we can - both with them and on our own.

You just can’t snap your fingers have have everything turn out perfect overnight. It does take time, but they are working on it.
@Barney, that’s good enough for me. As long as they too find it unacceptable and are working on a solution, that’s all I can ask.
@MrFred I’m was hanging out on the Mediocre forum (under a different ID), almost a year before Meh even started. Yes, it’s a pretty big mess right now and I’m not sure how they are going to get things straightened out, but I trust @dave when he says they are working on it.
@Barney @dave I go back to Woot and I’ve been here a while, I just don’t say anything very often. I can be patient as long as I know they find the situation unacceptable.
Well, the worst one, that hadn’t updated since May 21, as of today shows in transit Bloomington, CA. Took 2 days short of 4 weeks to make that step from in transit Grapevine to in transit Bloomington.
So it’s going to go one of a couple of ways, either within a couple of days it actually gets to the post office, or it goes back to Texas, or it just appears to sit at Bloomington for a week or more.
I mean I’ve got another one that shows in transit Bloomington since May 30. I’ve also got one shipped the same day as the one that updated today, that’s been Grapevine since the 26th.
If it’s really just overload, too many packages in their system to keep up with, maybe Pitney Bowes should have started limiting how many packages they would take in, so some part of the people shipping stuff would go with another carrier.
@kevinrs I’m going with sitting in Bloomington. Here is the latest update from one of my packages sitting there.
May 30, 2020
12:55pm ET
MAY

2020
Arrived at Pitney Bowes Facility
Bloomington, CA
@Ignorant One of my packages first was arrived at Bloomington back on the 24th, then again the 25th, then in transit grapevine 26th, then in transit commerce, CA 27th, preshipment sent to USPS the 29th, in transit Bloomington the 7th, and finally got to USPS yesterday for delivery sometime today.
This will be the first package from the mehrathon delivered since the 3rd. That one day I got 5 of my 9 orders, the rest have been sitting in transit somewhere all this time.
Still one at grapevine since 26th
One appears to have arrived at USPS Studio City by mistake today, after being at Bloomington since the 30th
The last is the one I’ve mentioned before that was grapevine from the 21st, and finally got to bloomington yesterday
I did order a pastadrop, but it is also only showing grapevine since the 1st.
This is also frustrating me to no end. My Irk has been sitting within a half hour of me for 10 days. Not that I really expect much, but the shipping practices are egregiously bad with Pitney Bowes.
Never thought I’d consider canceling my original VMP status but here we are. I’m hesitant to even place an order
I really feel for the pasta drop folks tho
@nalesean
I hear ya
Only place safe to order is casemates. Case it’s a different contract. Thank the lord and lady
Maybe someone in the know ( @snapster ) can come speak of this issue. But not gonna
/giphy hold my breath
They seem to have lost my orange keysmart, not that I need it urgently or anything… but it entered the pitney bowes black hole on May 28, never to be seen again…
My I.R.K. says it’s moving in there, but not really holding out much hope, last one was just an open box
Wonder if someone will buy pitney bowes and it will flip back to a delivery company instead of a black hole that only eats product, but spits out the cardboard?
Waiting on two Pasta Drop orders for unsuspecting victims. Both orders showed delivered to the dreaded Greenwood, IN depot on June 9th with no further activity. This morning the status updated. I was so excited until I read the update. RECEIVED, GREENWOOD, IN JUNE 15TH.
Come on people. How long does it really take to unload a truck?
@tinamarie1974 Yep I got the same message about my linguine. It looks like my ziti is going to get here first.
@tinamarie1974 I’ve had some amusing PB tracking logs. Where is arrives in and then is received at days apart… Then it arrives in the same city a week later and bounces between those two statuses… Then it magically jumps across the country and back in the space of thirty minutes.
I don’t think you can really take too much meaning from what their tracking log says.
@OnionSoup you are right and I have seen the same but it is so frustrating.
I don’t understand how a company can get away with complete disregard for data integrity. Can you imagine if they ever had to certify chain of command on any of their shipments? Or of they were audited for SOX compliance? How does a company survive operating in this manner?
Sign on every Pitney Bowes warehouse:
Today I received a long awaited MorningSave order. After 5 weeks of travel my envelop was delivered, sliced open and empty.
Of last 4 items ordered, 2 came smashed and broken, 1 was non-functional and now this…empty.
@Raider That is not a good track record. Contact support.
@Kidsandliz I have, I’m sure they’re sick of hearing from me by now. At some point it would be nice to get what I actually ordered instead of a refund. Honestly difficult to consider ordering anything from here right now with this type of delivery “success”.
I am also having issues with Pitney bowes. I have had 1 order refunded and my second order has been stuck for a week. I do not expect super fast shipping but I do expect shipping that actually ships. I bought something I wanted and would prefer to get it, the refund is appropriate, but I would like my purchased item better. Meh doesn’t seem concerned with the shipping issues. Or maybe it’s just VMP members…
@kcface I’m not sure how much they can do… It would be nice to hear a statement from them though.
Honestly if the choice is $5 crappy Pitney Bowes shipping OR $10 better than crappy shipping… I’d rather stick with crappy PB.
Yes, it’s annoying and yes, I do buy fewer items because I take into account “will I still want this item, and am I willing to wait potentially a month to two months from now?” before making a purchase…
… But I’d buy even less if shipping went up.
@kcface @OnionSoup What’s more frustrating is to wait an extended period for an item you do want, and after the long wait it arrives destroyed or missing. I could put the $5 from VMP towards the price increase at other sites and get it in a few days and in perfect order. I never minded the 7-10 days but 5 weeks for destroyed/missing, wait up to 2 weeks for CS reply, wait for refund and then still end up purchasing the item elsewhere 2 months down the road from original order date for more money because its something you wanted and didn’t get…it’s a recipe for business disaster.
@kcface My lanterns and waterpic arrived on the same pony!
I placed a Morningsave order on May 28th. The label was created on June 5th. On the Morningsave website, it states (as of June 12th) it “Departed the Pitney Bowes Facility” in Grapevine, TX. But the USPS tracking information says USPS is still waiting for it. It is not here yet.
I have emailed Customer Support four times, they have not responded.
I have tried calling Pitney Bowes, nothing has worked.
Is there a phone number I can call to talk to an actual person? I am so over whatever this is & I will never buy from Morningsave, Meh or any of their other sites again after this.
@loudersoft support must be really bogged down. I emailed 11 days ago and have heard nothing.
@loudersoft you are upset about less than a week from label creation? My package has shown as in my town (after several days shipping) for over 2 weeks!
@chellemonkey I’m upset about all of it because I paid for the shipping, so they need to get it together and quit lying about when they ship something.
@loudersoft since you have tracking info they haven’t “lied” about shipping it. Shipping through Pitney Bowes sucks, meh doesn’t control them. Honestly label creation on the fifth until now is the way it has always been, they aren’t Amazon.
@chellemonkey firstly, i’ve been shopping these sites since they moved from woot and i was with woot since SA. i know how it works so don’t lecture me.
secondly, you’re not getting it – providing me with tracking that says one thing one place and a different thing at another screams misleading and false to me, but maybe when people mislead you, you still trust them. that’s cool.
on their site, it said that it had been shipped. on the USPS site, when I track it, it said “awaiting package”. so which is it? is the lie with USPS or with pitney bowes? i track packages from USPS for delivery all the time, none of them have ever had differing information the way this one does. it’s like someone telling me the sky is green and someone else saying it’s blue.
keep Stanning for pitney bowes, though, it’s amusing. just give me my f’ing money back or get my thing that i paid for here already.
@loudersoft I was only saying MEH didn’t lie. Pitney Bowes is terrible I agree. They can’t seem to figure out where their stuff is.
@chellemonkey @loudersoft It doesn’t start with USPS so they won’t list as having it until the dead turtle PB uses to ship actually drop it off at the Post Office. Prior to that it is wherever PB hauls it (or not). In fact PB’s tracking information seems to change frequently. USPS’s portion of the trip it is far more reliable - ALTHOUGH PB may say delivered to USPS when, in fact, they have not.
@loudersoft @chellemonkey @Kidsandliz Well, it’s out for delivery so there you go – right on time?
The good news is that COVID-19 doesn’t live long enough to survive Pitney Bowes shipping.
My earbuds got lost in Texas, which kinda sucks because I needed them for work, but I’m glad I didn’t spring for the membership.
I miss the days when my robomowers came FedEx!
I’m not getting my Ray Bans before my mid-July vacation, am I?
@DJ Oh - you didn’t buy them for christmas? Your bad (not). shipping.
@Kidsandliz uh, they’re here. Got here in one day… I’m shook.
Here is my latest update: delivered to IN and then 11 days later arrived in IN. SAY WHAT???
@Kidsandliz Mine says the exact same thing.
@dvshrt Here is my update today. Cute. Huh?
@dvshrt @Kidsandliz Same thing here
@Kidsandliz having same issue here
@LitreofFarva @dvshrt Well depending on WHICH PB tracking page you look at I am told no package with that tracking number, arrived at PB facility Greenwood, IN June18th, the June 6 above has vanished, or in transit to location unknown, and on one page it says all dates are invalid (now that final one is probably true LOL - not!). What I know for sure the claim on one of those tracking pages that it will be delivered today June 20th is not true as USPS mail has already come and USPS doesn’t have it yet. In the past I was told it would be delivered to me (I think is was these two dates) June 16th and June 17th.
/image crap shoot
@dvshrt @Kidsandliz yeah mine showed being in my town then back to greenwood, then to obetz Ohio, and now supposedly back in my town in Ohio for last 2 days. It’s ridiculous. Does anyone know why Meh went with this horrible company?
I’m still waiting for my IRK from the April Meh-rathon. It made it to a PB facility just outside of town, then disappeared for almost a month before showing up back in Texas. Now it’s stuck in the dreaded Greenwood, IN purgatory. Another item I ordered in late April showed up quickly so it seems to be a crapshoot.
same here. my package from the last meh-rathon still hasn’t arrived! been stuck at pitney bowes for two weeks now in same location! meh at least refunded me. meh please use a different shipping company!
I got my package 1 month after ordering… I’d personally pay more for shipping to avoid this company. Unfortunately Meh refunded me after 3 weeks of it being stuck in NJ. I love buying here but no longer can…
I think the FAQ needs to be updated:
How will my order ship?
Most products ship via the US Postal Service
Handing off for last mile doesn’t count
@lichme Maybe change it to something like this:
How will my order ship?
You’ve gotta ask yourself one question: “Do I feel lucky?”
“Well, do ya, punk?”
@lichme If memory serves nothing has ever fully shipped USPS, they have always used a smartpost type setup. Not sure how that could ever have been considered accurate!
@lichme @Raider The old FAQ was a lot more accurate. And fun.
Seems the FAQ got changed to something much more generic recently. Pity, I liked how @dave’s old FAQ had the Meh tone to it.
I have said enough negative in here I need to highlight a positive shipping experience (shocking right?!) My irk arrived today with original shipping date being 6/11 and arriving today, 7 days later. It magically skipped the black hole known as Greenwood, IN and went straight to the regional hub in my general area before USPS hand off. Box arrived in perfect shape. Not sure if a hopeful sign or just random luck (was a bigger box) but had to actually say something good when the rare event happened.
@Raider Congrats! But don’t expect anything good to ever happen to you again.
@Barney I have a feeling this is a sign of the apocalypse! If it suddenly gets very cold tonight I know what froze over!
Looking at tracking info for orders shipped before any pandemic imposed employment sanctions had taken effect, there is a carrier listed as “Agent” according to the Pitney Bowes info. USPS info lists the carrier as Pitney Bowes. The tracking info my May 15 order does not list any “Agent” in the tracking info.
I’m thinking the carriers listed as agents by PB are subcontractees like independent drivers and small businesses. I think pandemic restrictions to commerce might have affected the availability and cost of subcontractees, and PB might be doing all the shipping to the post office themselves, and that could explain the long shipping times.
Does anyone else have agents listed in their pre or pandemic order tracking info?
/giphy agents are gone
Pitney Bowes is a joke. Meh will suffer for this decision. I’m likely done until this crap is figured out.
I have an order placed from a different site, on April 12. Supposed to be coming via Newgistics. Irregular updates as the package went from Tennessee, though Carrolton, and got to Houston on May 23. ZERO status update since then, except on June 8, now Pitney Bowes is the site that loads when I try to track.
@curtw4 PB bought Newgistics and recently merged their shipping into PB’s version of it.
my pastadrop took almost a full month, but my sausages arrived in just a week.
/giphy weirdsies
@hisgrossness Because WineDavid (Wine Country Connect and Casemates) care about delivering a perishable product. That is who sold the sausages.
As for this Bitney Blowes experiment, I think they will regret it. I’ve seen so many new people posting and curious about this whole mediocre thing, and when the estimated delivery is 2 months out… well, you aren’t courting repeat customers.
@KNmeh7
Agree. Also full disclosure the summer sausages are amazing. Super glad the PB gang was not in charge of the shipping
Yeah, my May 19th Penne Rigate Pastadrop is still on it’s way. Ordered May 19th, shipped May 27th. It took 4 days to go from Carrolton, TX to Grapevine, TX on May 27th to June 1st, sat there for a couple days and says it left Grapevine, TX on June 3rd… and then took 6 days to arrive in Greenwood, IN on June 9th. Then 10 days to go from Greenwood, IN to Lansing, MI… a 4 hour drive.
It finally arrived in Lansing, MI THIS MORNING, a month later, with an expected delivery date of tomorrow.
Grapevine, TX is a black hole, two of my orders have totally stalled out there. I’m reconsidering the meh subscription, and even the site, if it takes this long to get anything.
If I wanted cheap stuff to take a month to get here, I’d just order it off of Wish. Sometimes it feels like Meh is running a glorified dropshipping outfit with these delays.
My package has been sitting at Pitney Bows in Little Rock AR since June 3rd. After many phone calls to the phone number on their website and only having it disconnect after 3 rings, I came to the address on the website. I’m sitting in the parking lot right now and this is an office building. So where are they located?! How long do you have to wait? I email the company I ordered from and they pretty much said we sent it so you’re on your on. Does PB eventually send it?
@kjts wow did you find this topic (and site) from a google search for Pitney Bowes complaints?
@Ignorant I just thought it was one of your friends.
@Barney haha nah I don’t think they’d ever find their way here.
@Ignorant True, so very true.
Funny.
It gets to college park and then eventually my city, Savannah and then six days later finds its way back to college park…
https://imgur.com/a/F99ckHU
@juststephen They’ve done round trips, sometimes multiple, for more than a few of us.
@juststephen
@juststephen same here, my fun putty supposedly made it to my city and then teleported back to Royal Oak. After the original delay Meh has had 20 of my dollars for a very long time with nothing to show for it
@TheDr0wRanger don’t forget your coupon code UNFUNPUTTY.
@RiotDemon You’re not wrong, I should have remembered that part when I said it. 1/4 back is no joke given that I got to keep the product.
I was looking for a way to contact Pitney Bowes and looking for other people’s reviews and comments. And there you were! Seems like I’m not the only one playing the waiting game. Do we eventually get our order, or are we SOL?
@kjts It looks like you won’t get yours since your profile history doesn’t show that you’ve order anything.
@Barney they ordered from a different place that also uses Pitney Bowes for shipping.
@kjts it seems stuff eventually makes its way out of the Pitney Bowes abyss…but it takes a while currently.
Welcome to the forums.
@Ignorant I should have known that.
It was so nice of this person to take the time to make up a user name and to post on our humble forum.
I’m not sure if you’re saying I made this up, but You can be sure I didn’t. My order originated in China. I didn’t realize this until after I ordered and payed. I was just trying to find some information on Pitney Bowes. I did find out this is a common problem with them. So this will be my last post on your forum. But thank you for the information.
@kjts
What have you done @Barney?
@Ignorant
@Barney @Ignorant egg, tomato, and sausage sandwich.
… Hopefully those words will inspire my wife.
I ordered 2 of the same item on May 31st from Meh. I received one on June 7th. The other has been sitting at Pitney Bowes in my current city since June 12th. I ordered these for Father’s Day for my father and brother and it looks like I’m only going to have 1 to hand out tomorrow. So I give it to my father and my brother gets an IOU for someday when it actually shows up? This sucks.
@Avrenim8
Wait…your brother is your father?
@Avrenim8 @therealjrn That’s only in families where his uncle is also his cousin… just sayin’
@therealjrn That makes no sense. I said I bought two and one will get an item and the other won’t.
My last mid-May Mehrathon item has finally escaped from Grapevine, and should be here by June 23. That will make 40 days from order date to delivery to an address less than 20 miles from Meh HQ.
I got 2 more of the May mehrathon orders yesterday, 2 still in limbo.
Membership renewal is coming up, considering cancelling it right before it renews, and maybe I’ll restart next time I see something I want to buy.
You’re right about Pitney Bowes. They suck. They’re incompetent and I’m currently feeling the pain. I ordered two packages of clothing- one order was made 28 days ago. The second was made 26 days ago. The packages were delivered from Atlanta to hellhole Grapevine Texas on June 2. And guess what? Surprise! Surprise! No movement in the past 18 days. Hey folks, I’ve the order is supposed to be delivered to San Diego. I think Pitney Bowes is constipated … The question is what can I do in the future to never cross their path?
Just an FYI
People are finding this topic by searching Google about how horrible Pitney Bowes is lately, so they might not all be speaking about purchases from Meh or the related sites.
@Ignorant
@Ignorant so we’re potentially helping meh get new customers by whining about Pitney Bowes?
I want a commission. I’ll take one bag of pasta per new customer who gets a membership please.
@OnionSoup well not if @Barney keeps chasing them off.
@Ignorant @OnionSoup
I don’t wanna stop!
WOO - after 10 days of no movement FINALLY my May IRK moved 16 miles and updated status from Arrived at Pitney Bowes Facility to Picked up and Processed by Agent
So I was just on PB trying to figure out what is going on. One place to track my package says no package with that tracking number. Another place on their site gives two packages with the same tracking number - and get this - they have conflicting information!!!
Mine now says, “Delivery exception” on one PB tracking page. Umm OK. It also shows it arrived where it allegedly is right now 3 times in 2 days (different from Greenwood where it arrived June 6, 15, 16 and 17th). To the same place.
Missed the edit window
BUT THE BEST PART of my most recent foray to PB’s tracking page is a satisfaction with PB survey popped up! Yes I filled it out. Yes there was room for comments. I referred them back to the various threads here detailing people’s frustrations as well as trying to catalog (within their character limits) what our basic complaints are about tracking randomness and after the fact changes, shipping scenic side trips and round trips, Greenwood IN’s black hole, package appeared to be strapped to a dead turtle (well didn’t put it that way, tried to be professional so they’d actually read it and take what I said seriously)…
I propose to the powers that be that whoever is named goat next month has to also have their username changed to Pitney Bowes for a month.
@moonhat didn’t wear a mask to the grocery store.
@OnionSoup I can’t help noticing that you haven’t changed your name yet.
Finally down to 1 May mehrathon item still in transit. That one has info transmitted to USPS as of yesterday, the line before that is in transit grapevine May 26.
From the tracking on the last couple I’ve received, I think they’ve dropped showing as much tracking info as they were, and maybe they’ve fixed the possible extra scans that showed stuff travelling in circles.
My more recent orders appear to be getting to California in just a few days, so that’s hopeful.
OK, thought I was having a problem. My Meh delivery has been sitting less than 10 miles away from me since June 23rd today is the 26th, but from what I’ve reading here I’m ahead of the curve. Maybe PB will realize they are in the wrong business. They should be into long term storage not speedy delivery.
@jbean3398 Good news of sorts…package arrive on the 27th. I must be one of the lucky ones.
My package has been sitting at the Pitney Bowes facility for 20 days now. Four days ago it changed to “picked up and processed by agent” and the location says the city I live in. It’s been four days since then, and the USPS tracking info still says it’s “on its way to USPS” since June 5th. Pretty, pretty, pret-ty bad service here. How long do I wait until I ask for my money back?
@llphn Also not sure if I’m doing something wrong, but when I go to track it on the Pitney Bowes site, using the same tracking number, it says that no package with that tracking number exists. Is it a different tracking number from the one on Meh and on USPS?
@llphn Yes there is one page that tells you this (I got it too). But the other ways to get to tracking actually give similar but not, at least in my case, identical information. Mine was finally delivered the other day after some dubious tracking information.
Worked at post office many years ago so I called the postal inspecter to track my order,number is ok but nearly all false movements, it could be in the meh warehouse or at P B ,meh has a security problem After one month most companies refund money if under $25 and if you get you keep it
OK…just how long should one wait for a meh order? 30 days? 45 days? And could everyone save time and heartbreak by just not tracking this crap, because the way things are, tracking doesn’t mean crap.
My package left TX in may and on 6/1 made it to CA, where it has been. According to PB lost/damaged but undeliverable. Meh refunded the purchase. Today the package is in NJ. Is there a way to contact PB, I got questions?
@kcface No way to contact them. They tell you to contact the merchant.
I just got a shipment notice for my towels…from fedex. Did they listen or is this a fluke?
@Knightp might have to do with this:
https://pastadrop.com/forum/topics/order-delays--drop-six-shipping
My May IRK has been sitting in a “Picked up and Processed by Agent” state for 7 days now, but still no USPS tracking info.
Does anyone have any idea what this means? Does it mean someone at the warehouse picked it up, scanned it, and put it back down where they found it?
@B picked up by an agent sounds like you got one of the IRKs with the cocaine in it… But the Federal Agents got to it first.
@B Mine is the same in Cincy picked up and processed by agent - Brother got his IRK ordered same day weeks ago - mine is stuck in limbo. I called PB and got the run around they first assured me that my package was already delivered to USPS before I provided a tracking number. Then he tried to tell me they only provide shipping software they dont actually move packages … then 2 sentences later he said they delivered it to USPS … which is it… you do or dont ship? And USPS still says waiting for PB
@sthiede1 You might be in luck soon. It took 8 days, but yesterday my IRK changed status to “Delivered to Pitney Bowes Facility,” whatever that is supposed to mean considering it was already at the regional SoCal PB facility. Today, however, PB says the package was both delivered to USPS and that it is out for delivery. Hopefully this provides at least a general timeframe as to what to expect.
Nail polish I ordered sat in Indiana for 11 days. Madness.
I have had items I ordered May 15th that have not been delivered as of June 30th. Pitney Bowes? More like Pitney Blowes!!
@smerk85 I’m still waiting for the IRK I snagged on April 15th. Granted it took Meh a few weeks to ship it out, but its now been in Pitney Bowes hands for going on 8 weeks. Tracking says it finally made it to Chicago and pre-shipment info has been sent to USPS but it hasn’t moved for over a week now. If it were anything but and IRK I would have given up and requested a refund long ago but at this point I just want it to get here so I can see if there’s anything left in the box.
@smerk85
Might have you beat. Ordered something May 4th, latest ETA was May 26th.
May 20th was info received
June 2nd was Inducted
June 22nd (20 days from TX to CA) was Picked by agent
June 27th was to USPS Delivery unit
(And took a 2 day trip north to another city)
June 29th back to USPS Delivery unit and Delivery!
Over a month from Pits Noes getting info!
@MarkDaSpark @smerk85 Hey, if you believe the tracking I think I’ve got everyone beat with the post just below. My May Mehrathon order that has time traveled back to March 5, so has been in transit almost 4 months.
I just got a package today that only took a week and a half. So good.
On the other hand, the last of my May mehrathon orders now shows tracking starting in March…
Tracking here just has the new tracking tacked on to the beginning. On PB site it’s replaced everything but it’s arrival in California today, and on USPS there are just 3 lines: Carrolton May 18, Grapevine May 19, Departed Grapevine May 26.
So now they are sending packages back in time to before the shutdown?
@kevinrs
Hopefully MEH is taking note of the PB issues. If MEH is going to use PB then I will think twice about ordering. My PastaDrop order is taking FOREVER to arrive!
@jendevall Perhaps you should go and read the PastaDrop forum.
hey, if we can’t travel, at least our packages can.
meh.
Suddenly remembered I ordered screen cleaner in mid-May. On June 2nd it was delivered to the Greenwood, IN PB facility, and on June 17th, it arrived at the Greenwood, IN PB facility. On June 24th, it was “Picked up and Processed by Agent” with my town location. The USPS tracking just has the June 17th arrival. I just… don’t know… what’s going on here.
@mossygreen My tracking had crap like that. Must be some kind of time travel that got caught in a wrinkle in time.
@mossygreen My package that traveled back to March a couple of posts above is screen cleaner too. Actually the paradox seems to have resolved, the March tracking has disappeared, and it’s arrived at the post office about half an hour ago.
UPS seems to be back to having issues too. A package shipped from in the same county, and was ordered the 29th, said delivery the 30th. Now each day it’s been delayed to the next, but at least it seems to be going in the right direction.
I’m guessing from some of what I’m seeing, shippers, more than just pitney bowes are having issues where they are behind because of high volume and employees out because of covid, then a center has an outbreak and shuts down temporarily for everyone to get tested/isolate. Then all the packages in and waiting to get in that facility are stuck and may sit and eventually get rerouted even back where they came from.
My latest package coming UPS took 2 days to get scanned at the origin center, took another day to go almost 40 miles, and still has 55 miles to go. The day I ordered I got a notice that it was coming the next day. Each day since, in the afternoon I get a notice that it’s delayed to the next day. Detailed tracking says “Due to operating conditions, your delivery may be delayed.” twice in there.
@kevinrs Yes, all shipping services are experiencing delays but PB is in a class by itself.
Below are the longest time intervals I have experienced so far from the main shipping services after the product was shipped:
Amazon – 2-day shipping, arrived on the 5th day. I was notified of the delay prior to delivery.
UPS – Scheduled 5 day shipping, arrived the 8th day.
Fed Ex – Ground, anticipate 5 days transit, arrived on 6th day.
USPS – Longest transit time was 5 days after receipt by USPS (parcel shipping).
Pitney Bowes – Longest 25 days in transit; shortest is 19 days.
@wineplus My sister had I think a 15 day delay with UPS
@kevinrs Understood and I’m sure there are others with long delays at various shippers. However, it seems most packages arrive in a reasonable time frame. PB does not seem to be reasonable about anything.
@wineplus PB is a minimum cost shipper, and as such, I think they had minimum margins to absorb the recent issues. At the same time, Meh had trouble switching, because other shippers dealing with the same issues didn’t want to take on even more load
Agreed. After a buyout Meh inherited PB. They arrange shipping by piggybacking on other orders. Their strategy is ill-suited for the current situation. My previous experience with PB in a corporate environment indicates Meh would be well served to find another low-cost shipper when possible. PB was miserable to deal with prior to all the COVID issues.
Tangentially meh related. The refills for my Schrödinger’s toothbrush are shipped via PB. Took 29 days to get to the right city and then they decided to move it back westward by one full MSA later that same day (yesterday). Is it coming back? Is it going back to IL? The suspense is (not) killing me. I was going to cancel the subscription anyway. But geez…
Today the package is jn two cities at once. 12 minutes apart
@Frcal Hmm maybe it has been on the road so long it had babies and now you get two irks?
Well…this is super crazy…it was IN GAINESVILLE…left and went to GA…guess where it is supposed to be??? GAINESVILLE, FL…What the actual heck???
@goddesscatering it would be nice if that was an unusual occurance, but unfortunately happens all the time with PB.
@OnionSoup Its soooooo frustrating! not to mention this is one of the latter things I ordered… some from a month ago are still in limbo…lol
My most recent purchase shows FedEx for tracking - did Meh change carriers?
@banksnld some info here:
https://pastadrop.com/forum/topics/order-delays--drop-six-shipping
@banksnld not really… As of yet. They are trying different things. You can read snapster’s post about it on pastadrop.
An update on the FedEx package of the Mophie charger twin-pack - shows as out for delivery today. Meanwhile, the remainder of my purchases from the last meh-rathon have been showing as “Picked Up and Processed by Agent” since June 30th.
Hopefully, they go the FedEx route…
I’m starting to think PB has just given up - nothing is moving beyond “Picked up and Processed by Agent”.
@banksnld “Picked up and Processed by Agent” is literally a nothing update that is false language by PB. That line is created when PB notifies USPS that a package will eventually come their way for delivery. The USPS tracking will list “Arrived Shipping Partner Facility, USPS Awaiting Item” at the same time.
The package is still somewhere in PB’s control awaiting for it to advance from the hub its stuck in. They seem to use a first in, last out inventory so if it doesn’t fly though a hub it languishes for awhile.
@banksnld @Raider are you telling me that my package didn’t go from Texas to California on the same day?
My May Irk has been in Greenwood since 6/16. My suction lights left Texas on 6/23. Nothing on either since then. Don’t want to bother the nice folks at CS but … wow.
My suction lights I bought showed being picked up by an agent on June 30th. Today I checked and the tracking number is missing from my order now. USPS informed delivery used to show a package was coning and I could see some of the tracking there too. That has disappeared recently. Did they lose my order and just gave up?
@jcarlson88

Well this is a good one:
July 14 2:22 ET
In transit Grapevine, TX
One hour and 3 minutes later
Picked up and processed by agent in my town which a good 450 miles away - a flight takes 1 hour 25 min according to google maps… Any bets on when this part of the tracking will be revised to be removed? LOL
July 15 8:19am ET
Delivered to Pitney Bowes facility in
hellGreenwood, INSo… the “agent” had it, and sent it back to the black hole in Greenwood - twice?
I like how it managed to get from IN to MI in 2 hours and 16 minutes. Google maps says that trip takes 3 hours and 51 minutes. Mine also had one of those time portal trips between two cities. Heaven help them if they actually had to find where a package really was.
Yeah I hate to say it because I just love you all and all the Mediocre companies, but I think I’ll have to hold off ordering anything else until all this shakes out. Other companies are still getting things to me quickly but Pitney Bowes is just amazingly backwards. My last order was bounced around for 2 weeks including coming to my town twice, and has now sat at a facility in another state for a solid week without moving. It’s just not worth it for the 10% or so savings. I love you all but please move to another shipping provider.
sigh. 10 days now just sitting in a facility in the next state after swinging twice through my town in the weeks prior. I guess I just have to give up hope on ever seeing this order. It’s a shame, especially since I specifically came to morningsave to buy it rather than going through Amazon or some other company. I really tried to support ya’ll. Honest I did.
@Bingo Sitting in a PB facility for several weeks or more is pretty normal at this point. Unfortunately.
@Kidsandliz Yeah so I’ve seen from a couple of previous orders and, of course, this thread. I really only said anything here in the hopes of adding my voice to the masses about the fact that this specific issue is what is going to keep me from shopping here anytime soon. And it makes me sad.
@Bingo Well hopefully eventually meh (and etc.) will figure out how to use a better shipper without breaking the bank for everyone. My irk left Greenwood, IN on the 19th with no indication of where it was/is going and it hasn’t arrived anywhere. Knowing my past luck it is probably headed back to TX again. Gotta get its exercise after all the sitting around in Greenwood. A few round trips ought to do that. LOL
I’ve had a meh purchase tangled up in the Pitney Bowes black hole since June 23rd. Last sighting was in my own town on June 30th. It’s almost 3 weeks later. I’ve been waiting for a week for Meh to respond to my complaint.
…
That $150 speaker Meh.com had listed today looked interesting. But I’ll be damned if I’m going to buy anything from these guys if it just gets lost en-route and nobody cares.
Update: it appears my packages are now at my local post office, per tracking. We’ll see if they arrive tomorrow.
Somehow Pitney Bowes has had my package in my town and it didn’t update for 17 days… now it is 75 miles away… back to Greenwood, IN… and it has been sitting for a week… It was found enough to rescan… but not enough to move it forward. I haven’t complained to meh yet… I think that the next membership update date hits and it doesn’t make it… I’m done. Pitney Bowes is the worst.
According to google maps I could have walked to Grapevine, TX and been back by now.
This is my second time dealing with that company holding my package for some odd reason. I’ll show you how long it took for a package that I’m currently waiting for to arrive:

Now you see it has left and now it was delivered to FDR facility, ATLANTA, GA 30349 at 2:44pm what ever that place is.
So by my experience. Pitney Bowes is an awful company. Who ever the CEO is needs to just close the company down.
Pitney Bowes has had my husband’s tactical vest in Grapevine, TX since June 20, 2020. Like wth? Why has it not been delivered? Did she keep it for herself or sell it for money?
I live in DEMING, PB has had my package since july 15th…finaly,yesterday,it arrives,wait…wait…should be delivered TODAY…WHAT THE F…BRING MY PACKAGE BACK!!! WHY ARE YOU TAKING IT TO TEXAS ??? WHERE THE HELL IS GRAPEVINE???

Finally got my Irk but it was absolutely destroyed in shipping with only the bag remaining.
Pitney Bowes FAILED to deliver my package to my home address & tracking shows it was delivered to the town next to my town (2 miles away) at 6:37PM yesterday! WTF?!
The BEST part is when I try to complain about Pitney Bowes shipping I’m redirected to the UK Pitney Bowes website - Really? Clever Pitney Bowes. Clever indeed.
The package was to be delivered a DAY BEFORE my spouses Birthday (Yesterday). It was shipped from a company in Massachusetts to my address in N. Carolina (a 9 hour drive) 10 DAYS AGO.
Pitney Bowes - FAIL.
@SD_8 Well if you got directed to the USA site they’d tell you to contact the vendor that sent you the product so actually in that respect you are no worse off. This is what I found when I tried to contact them over something I had ordered as a present for someone. It had vanished from tracking after they claimed it had been received by my zip code’s (stating the zip code) post office except my zip code doesn’t have a post office - our stuff is sent to a different one. The post office where our zip code stuff is sent hadn’t received it. The package then resurfaced a number of days later saying it was in transit - to where I do not know since that wasn’t listed. While it was still supposedly in transit to the great unknown the USPS delivered it to my apt. Then the best part was they went back and sanitized the shipping record. Had I not had screenshots I am sure no one would have believed me (well people on here would have believed me). The new shipping record showed a straight shot from TX to IN to the right post office, to my apt leaving out the round trips, odd destinations, the fictitious delivery to the non-existent USPS office… Likely they had no clue where it actually was.
I agree the worst shipping company around, If I were Meh. I would charge shipping partners.
So my package is actually out for delivery today.
1025 miles in 25days, 18 hours.
1.67 miles per hour.
Say I need to sleep and reset 12 hrs a day. I literally could have hand-delivered it faster.
Not the world’s biggest problem, but no, never ordering again until Pitney-Bowes is dumped.
So has anyone had any luck contacting Pitney Bowes about their lost package? If so how did you reach them? My order was placed July 26th and here is the tracking info b as of right now.

@stcsmi231 What happens is that you are told to contact the sender and then it hangs up on you.
I’m still waiting for my package that was shipped from china. That was the beginning of August it’s now October 15, 2020 and it’s now in the United States. It took that long and now I have to wait longer because it’s going through the mail. SMH.
@irishdragonles So China bought Carrolton, TX? That might explain a few things - the shipping delay is customs!
I ordered a Christmas gift on the 17th of November, I still haven’t received it, as of 9 December. It’s been sitting in Grapevine Tx. since the 26th of November, 355 miles away! I called the company I ordered the gift from, they’re shipping me another one, should be here the 20th. I’m sure if they use Pitney Bowes I’ll never get it!
@Marksvillemama hopefully you get it! What brings you to meh?
@RiotDemon I’m guessing a Google search for Pitney Bowes. It’s brought quite a few people to this topic.
Sounds very familiar. Our Christmas cards arrived at a Pitney Bowes facility on December 11…we were informed they should arrive by December 16 at the latest. As of December 19, the shipping status for USPS still said the cards arrived at Pitney Bowes in Atlanta on December 11, and the USPS is still “awaiting the item”
We tried to call Pitney but it just rang…and rang…and rang…
@bhvol you can send regular mail this way? I thought they were only for packages.
Welcome to Meh. Are you enjoying your time here?
@bhvol @RiotDemon I assume it was a package of Christmas cards bhvol bought. And welcome, bhvol!
Where is my package Pitney bowes, why the delay for a month, last scan shows November, 2020. Being to USPS local office since Dec 2, they said contact Pitney Bowes, but thats virtually impossible, their messaging recording phone lines said they do not have the status on any packages, then hangs up! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!
Hi @NITERIDERZ sorry about your package, but just a heads up this is only a thread complaining about Pitney Bowes, this isn’t actually Pitney Bowes so unfortunately no one will be able to help you with your packages here.
But welcome to Meh, feel free to vent about PB here and maybe check out some other topics here too.
I read I am not the only one waiting regarding pitney bowes. Let me check what laws govern these delay issues and possible get some more help from Federal Agency: We the consumers need some interactive communication about our weeks and months of package delays. Would some please contact me?
@NITERIDERZ PB says you have to contact the company who sent you the package to find out what has happened to it and to get PB to trace it. If you call the PB phone number you will find (I speak from experience) it is just a recording that tells you this.
If you bought your item from meh (who owns the forum you are posting on) contact meh’s customer support. If you bought it from someone else you will have to contact that someone else.
I ordered an Item from overseas. I arrived in the states and was handed over to Pitney Bowes in Illinois then made its was to P.B. in Greenwood IN. From Greenwood IN it made its way to P.B. Grapevine TX (30 minutes from me). From here it went back to Indiana for a few days then was sent back here again to Grapvine TX where it has sat for 8 days now. I called P.B. to see if I can at least go pick it up myself and they tell me they have no idea where it is at nor when it will get to me. They said I have to call the overseas company I purchased it from and they will know what is going on…??? Thats the stupidest excuse I’ve ever received. How would the company I bought the product from know more about your useless excuse for a shipping company and why you won’t just deliver my package. Oh, and I called the overseas company and they said they have no idea what the shipping partner is doing. They said they should habe delivered to me long ago.
This is worst shipping ever and I’m an expert at shitty shipping since I have at least a package a month that gets lost. My package been sitting in Grapevine for almost 2 weeks now,it’s only 3 hours away. I could of walked there and back multiple times now. Since SSFA went this stupid company I know I’ll never order from them again. The only positive note on not receiving is that it’s been raining for a month so I couldn’t use it anyway. $10 shipping pisses me off when I get free shipping and delivery in days from other sources. Any company that switches to these idiots is going to lose business
A reminder that not all posts here are about orders from Meh.
Many people are finding this thread from google searches about shitty Pitney Bowes shipping.
I ordered an item of clothing from the UK on September 8, 2021. It made it to the US and cleared Customs on September 14th. Arrived PB facility Monroe Township, NJ on September 17. Arrived AND Departed PB facility Greenwood, IN on September 20. My tracking info STILL - 10 days later - says USPS Awaiting Item. You call PB and the automated answering machine will only give you the option to speak to a live person if you are calling to make a purchase. I transferred through several different menus until I finally got to a live person, but it was obvious that English was NOT his first language… He told me to contact the seller on eBay and they could file a complaint with PB. By the time my package maybe does make it to me, it will be summer 2022… Newgistics is now part of PB and I had the same problem trying to contact them… Am so fed up with PB I could chew nails.
If I am not mistaken, PayPal dumped Pitney Bowes at the same time that eBay picked them up.
A Pitney warehouse
Input’s easy sorting’s hard
A package backlog
The warehouse is full
New stuff arrives; we’ll just send
To other warehouse

Scan delivered toss in pile
Scan arrived on sort
Perpetual loop

Not sorted and sent
Just wondering I live just south of Erie, PA. my item was shipped from New Jersey, I am tracking it, it is now in Indiana, almost 500 miles past my home, now it has to come all the way back again, what is going on with this shipping service ? It has to travel a thousand miles more than necessary to get here and take a week rather than the three days they say.
@bb1040 yep, they sure suck.
Well I will wait and see, ,they say it will arrive on Monday. The post office is sending me up dates now but they don’t have it yet . They said it left the facility in Indiana, we will see where it pops up next. LOL
@bb1040
/giphy good luck
I definitely hate Pitney Bowes. I have been ordering stickers from Etsy. From multiple shops. Any seller who is using Pitney shows either out for delivery or delivered and a week or two has gone by and nothing. So I’ll let the Etsy sellers know and some of them were willing to send ,d a new one. and in another case, one seller told me to open the case up but it was too soon. The one who sent out a replacement it’s showing the same issue again I know the pattern because of the multiple orders that have now done the same thing I don’t have time to be wasting contacting Etsy for close to 10 different orders. And yet any order that’s coming directly with USPS tracking they all arrive just perfectly fine. And that’s saying a lot considering the USPS usually screwed my orders up. Never thought I would have this much chaos over some funny stickers. . But when I just went to check my tracking on other items again and saw that that was what was being used I wanted to throw my iPad.
Oh, and I am in upper Darby PA and it always keeps showing out for delivery in Philadelphia. At all crazy times of the night and morning and then shows it was delivered at a time that mail doesn’t even come, including today and I’m tired of going through the same questions from Etsy sellers when they ask me did I put my address properly? Yes my address is property listed the same address I’ve had for 25 years the same name with no problems… I know that sometimes the Philadelphia post office transfers it to the upper Darby one. That’s not what’s happening in these cases because they’re not arriving at all. This is getting ridiculous as I said, above in my other post over some measly stickers. But those stickers add up when you’re ordering from multiple shops and I don’t just have time or money to be wasting. One seller said that they have to use Pitney to achieve star status for selling. Well, that must not be true because other sellers are not using it and my order is getting here just fine.
@Shibby7676
ummm… Welcome to the meh forum, even it was just to resurrect this 18 month old post.
I hope you feel better after getting a chance to vent some about the shitshow that is PB. OTOH, maybe posting on Etsy (or even an Etsy reddit) would be more appropriate.
My email states that it was delivered today at 5:15 I checked there was no package there. I also checked my camera there was no delivery. Try calling their customer service none it keeps telling me to refer back to the vendor. Why is that when the carrier sent a message stating it was delivered? This is on the delivery not the merchant
Pitney Bowes delivery stories is kind of like those stories of letters in a bottle that are thrown into the ocean when someone is a small child being found by someone on the other side of the world when that child has grown up to become an old man.
I shipped a newspaper with PB to my son on the day he was born, I plan on giving it to him for his 21st birthday, if it arrives on time.
