No it's not a ping pong ball
19Came back from eating dinner out last night and found Princess had laid her first egg in two years She was sitting on a perch away from the egg as unconcerned and uninterested in it as she could be.
Not sure if it is edible or not but could be one way to solve the shortage and high cost of eggs, but got to get her going faster than she is going now.

Yea Princess! She must be happy. How often do they lay eggs. Assuming it is not like a chicken situation.
@tinamarie1974 She laid an egg two years ago a week after we got her but none since. Since laid a second egg a week after the the first one so we are expecting another one soon. Were told that is common with this species of parrot.
@Felton10 will it be like a chicken with the white/yolk, but obv infertile or is it empty inside?
@tinamarie1974 I don’t know. Kind of feel weird cracking it open for some reason like I’m doing something wrong. First two eggs she laid two years ago she was perched and they fell to the bottom of the cage and cracked open on the grate so no idea what was in them, She might have already laid the first one as a couple of days ago saw all this white stuff outside the cage and wondered what it was and now that she had laid this egg, it might very well have been the first one.
Well since she didn’t build a nest and has no mate to fertilize it likely she has no clue what to do with it.
@Kidsandliz Was told not to have toys in the cage that she could pull apart and use to make a nest with. That would minimize her egg producing and egg laying interests.
Since she was not even near the egg and ignoring it, I am sure she has no idea what to do with it or even what it is. They recommend that if she starts to nest with it, replace it with a wooden egg the first chance you get and she will tire of that quickly.

My bird is a male so no free eggs for me.
All I know is that I am close to 100 times larger than Princess and if I had something that size come out of me, I would be the hospital having torn something.
