Meh sponsors Boing Boing, the Internet goes WILD
13For any of you who are BoingBoing.net readers, you may notice that they have a new sponsor in the form of a friendly crazy retailer called Meh. Yep. Mediocre Labs’ Meh. This here site that you are presently looking at and reading my words on.
For any of you who aren’t BoingBoing.net readers, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

And they unboxed the first of what is supposed to be a summer full of ‘random boxes of crap’:
Except they apparently no one told them that Meh doesn’t do Boxes of Crap.
HELLO FUKOBUKURO!
ps. I don’t need any money or anything, and I don’t have a huge blog/website full of Mostly Wonderful Things for you to advertise on, but if you want to sponsor me in the form of “random boxes of crap”, Mediocre Labs peeps, feel free

Where do I sign up for random boxes of crap?
If you can get to the top of this list by sending us new people:
write me (dave at meh) and I’ll send you a random box of crap.
@dave so just to clarify, I just need to find a way to ensure that I get someone to click a link on my site to meh.com at exactly 12:00:01 AM and grab a screenshot of it before anyone else visits, right?
@jbartus You know, I’d send you something if you managed that. (No Photoshopping.)
@dave ok so the only rule is not to photoshop?
#WebDeveloper
@dave I’m super impressed that the traffic is that strong, and I absolutely hope the sponsorship continues to give dividends… In case it wasn’t clear (or my silliness was overshadowing things), I have been reading BoingBoing for YEARS (not quite since it was an actual zine, but pretty early), and I love them (and obviously love the whole Mediocre crew) and am thrilled that BoingBoing are connected with Meh in any way!
@dave I think I’ve been on the top of that list a time or two. Where’s my stuff? In fact, I found this thread by researching meh.com boing boing, after seeing them on the list.
I should get extra credit for having two sites on the list at the same time.
I found all of this very confusing and the “hosts” in the video seemed like a bad imitation of Regis and Cathy Lee.
@ACraigL I thought it was weird that they didn’t seem to have a clue what Meh was
Gawd… listening to hear talk about making kale cakes with that doughnut cooker makes me want to punch her in the face…
@capguncowboy You might check if your diet is causing you to be violent.
@dave I was going to, but I hulked out in the waiting room and punched the dietitian in the face.

That article reads like it was written by an AI.
@DrunkCat
@curtise That explains why Meh had to personally send them some.
They just threw away the bags of Texas air! Whats up with that?
/giphy lame
@MrGlass well, you know, Meh is one of those subscription boxes and the contents are all that really matters, not some silly packing material.
Roderick On brought me here
@curtise Thanks for this article! Please post the future ones.
It was a little awkward, and weird at points, but they really did hit all of Meh’s selling points/talking points during the video (and if Meh labels the box Fukubukuro, they’ll get that right as well).
You betcha!
That was the most painful faux shared interview I’ve ever seen. Couldn’t they at least have figured out what meh.com does before they started babbling. And maybe have gotten someone to do a voice over so I didn’t have to listen to that woman? Maybe the net ghods will step in and shove them out the door before they can do something like this again.
Well, the second Meh “random box of crap” has been received and opened by ‘Jason’ (presumably Jason Weisberger, the publisher) at BoingBoing.
Rather unfortunately, he doesn’t appear to have bothered to actually film the unboxing. But the writeup is decent. I wonder what he will do with the Bluetooth LED Speaker Light… Maybe someone should point him at this sale where a whole bunch of recommendations were made. But that someone will not be me. Unless he happens to read this, in which case, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
Also, I’m not sure how I missed it, but BoingBoing actually had a MorningSave deal event running earlier this month.
It’s over now, but you can read through their relatively boring writeup of the three items they had for sale here.
And we’re up to the third box… This time it’s being called a “box of stuff” which is a bit better IMHO. It also contains quite the haul that would make any Fuko recipient think they had received a Fuku.
However, on the very negative side, this review is completely anonymous, so truly feels like a paid ad piece, rather than a personal endorsement by a BoingBoinger.
@curtise From reading the comments, consensus is that’s it’s Xeni who wrote the post because of the dog picture.
