@warpedrotors Yeah D batteries are interesting choice for these as they will probably last 5 years, definitely better than AAA at least. I’m just glad the price isn’t $9.99 or else I’d end up buying them & they’d probably never get unboxed .
I liked the ones from a few months ago that could start fires by remote control. Click the button and a real flame of liquid paraffin starts up. Problem is the remote is small and I lost it… somewhere in the bedroom. So now I can’t light/start the candles.
@pmarin honestly the Ludela’s were one of the most underrated items we’ve ever sold. I bought 4 of the starter sets with 4 extra refills. I’ve bought an obnoxious amount of fake candles from our sites over the years and Luminara are by far the nicest brand. Fun fact: Ludela was actually made by Luminara
@oceanstgal unfortunately, it’s because you apparently have some degree of color blindness. I see two distinct colors. The good news for you is that if they run out of the one you want, you can just get the other one
That water vapor and led technology is what they used to light a faux Olympic flame during the summer Olympics in Paris. It was under a helium filled balloon that rose at dusk each night. It was pretty spectacular…
I have purple glitter candles from Luminara I found at Goodwill and I love them. Normally I find opaque flameless candles disappointing because they don’t cast as much light and you can’t see the details if it’s dark in the room, but the glitter seems to make up for it. Also I’ve knocked them off surfaces more than once and they still look fine, as the glitter seems to cover some minor imperfections as well.
@Kyeh I think so too! I included a photo where you can see the dent of where it fell and how it could be kind of pressed back into shape and was still somewhat glittery. I suspect the dust on top is helping reflect the light, but you can see they’re brighter than a dark purple would normally be.
@Kyeh Sure are! I have a textured black one I hate because it’s too dim. I was thinking about scraping the dark coating off and/or carving into the wax layer, but then it fell and the whole outside broke off. I’m still thinking about melting the wax back on, to see how bad it looks. Don’t know why the glitter ones seem more malleable, maybe just to adhere the glitter, but still definitely wax.
@mossygreen I can imagine black would be dim; the light isn’t that bright in these to begin with. I got one of the ivory colored ones with the speaker in it that they sold here (and I think it was a remark of yours that convinced me to buy it!) I also got a red & gold one in an Irk once.
@PhysAssist I have these and I consider D batteries a big plus. D batteries pack a lot more energy. I think 2 D batteries have almost double the mAh rating as 4 AA batteries. My Luminara candles run for 5-6 months coming on every day for 8 hours. I’m also not a fan of LED flashlights moving away from 2 D batteries to 6 AA batteries… I don’t want to mess around with half a dozen batteries. Some flashlights use only 2 or 3 AA batteries but those have a very short runtime. For my disaster/emergency flashlight, my main priority is a long runtime and easily replaceable (not rechargeable) batteries.

We love our skull candles [we bought one of each] gave my S-I-L the black one, and kept the white/ivory one.
We like the way the whole skull gets lit up when the candles come on.
So mad. Talked big talk about these candles to my bestie. Got her to pick out what color she wanted. Went to order and had to input my updated CC info and it would not let it update it manually, so I had to use the old card and hope it worked. Well, it didn’t. Lol Only because I was denied shipping to Hawaii. I can’t find any reference to no Hawaii ship, and I get that it varies from product to product. But usually I check before doing the shipping address song and dance. As I did previous to trying to purchase… Please show me where Im missing this info lol

Not hot enough.
These won’t keep the turkey warm!
Meh got the leftover props?
I got the ivory ones before and like them but I don’t really want the glitter ones that come with them.
Meh.
When you have to purchase mad D batteries”
Glitter candles and D batteries? Am I at grandma’s house in 1985?

$185.96 for 4 on Amazon? I wouldn’t pay that much money for these if I won Powerball.
@user98121461 Read the fine print. The Amazon deal comes with a lifetime supply of D batteries.
/showme Four electric candles and 4 thousand D batteries filling up room.
JK!
If there was a meh deal on D batteries, maybe…
Why does the plum look exactly like the ruby?

I bought the Skull ones and really like them. Might get these too. BLUE CANDLES.

I just realized that meh.com appears to be just a random product that is spotlighted on side-deal/morning-save.
I signed in just to say that today’s product write-up is the best thing I’ve read this year. I’ve already nominated it for a Hugo award.

@mossygreen I was wondering if the glitter would come off, but it hasn’t, huh?
@Kyeh Well, since they are from Goodwill, it’s quite possible that all loose glitter was knocked off in their first home.
@mossygreen But they’re still sufficiently glittery?
@Kyeh Yes, except for the edges that got dented from being knocked over. I can post a photo tonight if you need convincing.
@mossygreen Sure, if you have time and don’t mind!
@Kyeh
@Kyeh
@Kyeh
@mossygreen Oh, thanks! They’re beautiful and quite glittery. Such a beautiful color. You lucked out!

@mossygreen Are they real wax?

I prolly should have said “and not lithium-powered”…"
I’m gradually replacing my NiMh AA and AAA batteries with lithium ones as well.
I drunkenly bought the skull one and I have to say that the flame effect is surprisingly convincing in person.
@user74149499 Maybe it’s time to knock a few back and get the candles to go with it.
/showme room with glowing skulls and candles everywhere and befuddled person sitting on a chair in the middle of the room.

I love the Luminara Ivory and Glitter candles. They are beautiful and I have no complaints.
