Back to School IRK Reveal
14I’m no Brad Pitt but it looks like I’m breaking ground on this edition of “What’s in the box?”
My IRK arrived today in a healthy 17" cube box.
Once I got Gwyneth’s head out of the way, the box contained:
- Colgate Optic White overnight whitening pen
- Truman’s shave cream
- Australian Gold plant based sunscreen
- Pogo Travel Adapter, South Africa Edition. I’m now collecting all the exceptions to the “Universal” adapter I got before to put together an exhibit for the museum of modern mundanities
- Rekonect graph paper refill
- Rekonect purple notebook, super dope
- A brilliant fake out: 360 braided USB-C cable! After so many micro USB ones I almost didn’t even look at it
- Sharper Image air purifier, looks new but the box was wrecked. Autographed by Irk himself!
- Lovely bright blue and yellow IRK bag

Cuisinart toaster oven air fryer grill. Box is really beat up and irk autographed. Has a huge dent on one side. So don’t know if it works yet.

Sadly no irk bag. And it’s such a cool color too.

@ironcheftoni @pakopako I got the same thing in similar condition a couple of years ago. It sat gathering dust until I decided it wasn’t worth the risk of burning the house down and tossed it.
@ironcheftoni well maybe you can get them to send you two rather than one based on you doing their “quality control” job for them?
@pakopako @sammydog01 well, I used it to heat up toaster waffles and didn’t burn the house down so it might be a keeper with the dent not damaging any inside components. I will keep it unplugged unless using it just to be safe.

Reminds me of the Halloween contest CoolHandJoe did a few years back. To turn something ordinary scary. I combined a book, “how to serve a french fry” and a penzeys bumper sticker and changed the title to “How to cook tasty people”.

2 Landscape lights that were shipped to Lowes, and don’t have plugs on them, just the electric cords.
A rather odd mix that came in a partially open box, so I suppose some other things might have gotten lost.
@Springbank those zevo things work great. My mom keeps leaving the outside door open to her apartment and it really catches all the flying things.
@ironcheftoni I’m good with that, although I did buy the Raid version on SidedDeal a few weeks ago.
Also, I just noticed that my sky-blue IRK bag has no branding, but I did not get a branded one.
@ironcheftoni @Springbank it catches stuff, much like hanging fly paper would, but it’s not a guaranteed attractor. Like, compared to a bug zapper, which will distract more bugs, mosquitoes definitely 100% like biting me when I’m nearby compared to the Zevo.

Light up holiday cross - I am Orthodox so the wrong cross but can probably find someone that will take it. The cross was in a plain brown sealed box, when I saw the USB to C cables I was holding my breath hoping the brown box was filled with C cables, but alas, NOT.

@mskateia check the sunscreen expiration date. Mine is in 2024. Glad you responded to treatment for your melanoma!!! Now if they only had a “chemo” for the emotional side of cancer (I’ve had 3 major ones so far).
I got a Cuisinart Oven/Airfryer with a tiny, almost imperceptible dent in the side. Looks brand new. A USB cable, a notebook, a couple of pain circle things, and two Meh tote bags. I’m pretty happy with this one. Best one yet.

Well, I definitely lost this time around.

and the one truly valuable thing: Meh TP.
Unfortunately, there was also a box of shattered ceramic pieces marked “Damaged- IRK” which wasn’t even taped shut and I had to wipe tiny ceramic bits off of all the other stuff and my kitchen counter and I even cut my finger. Meh, why would you send totally broken shit that can actually be hazardous? I mean, I get sending stupid stuff that nobody wants, or scratch and dent stuff, but this is really not cool.
My IRK came today and thankfully the only thing that was missing was the regret!
What I did get was…
A pair of black fleece slippers that will be gifted to someone who wears a men’s size 11. They look like they are smaller than that but we’ll see.
A Skullcandy braided charging cable that came in a box that’s seen better days!
It will be gifted to a family member with Apple products because I don’t have any. 
A Brookstone mirror with a Bluetooth speaker for the shower. That might make a good Christmas gift for someone on our list.
A Chargeworx power bank that charges 2 devices at the same time. Another thing for the gift box, we’ve got a gazillion charging banks.
A 3 pack of Hanes T-shirts, size large, in 3 colors, black, white and grey. I don’t think they are cotton but they’re SUPER SOFT and feel Sooooo nice!

One black Meh T-shirt in a small that will go to my skinny little neighbor because she’s the only person I know who will wear it and that’s tiny enough to fit into it!
Always saving the best for last… We got not just one bright blue IRK bag with yellow print but FOUR of them! Yay me!
Today Tuc wasn’t interested in playing with the stuff, he just hung out on my shoulder and watched. Of course he approved everything and he’ll get in the box later!

I got almost identical box as yours but I think they like you more bc they gave you more than they did me. The silicone face scrubby things are super useful. And nice to have a bunch of them.

My sunscreen is expired! “EXP 08 24”. I believe expired sunscreen can be ineffective!
@fjp999 I’m pretty sure you’re right. I’m always railing against people believing “best by” dates for food, but for sunscreen I’ve read it really does become ineffective.

great IRK, about time, because i have beening buying these for years, BUT have received two IRK in 2 years time THAT WERE EMPTY BOXES!!!not even a bag, but today got 3pk mens hanes t shirts, an outdated charger cord size A, a NICE i home robot vacuum and a smart bird feeder WITHOUT THE CAMERA

All the high priced irk items always stay at my house even if it’s duplicate of what I have bc shits gonna break someday. We don’t live in the 80’s when shit was built to last (probably last time shit was built here too), all our electronics , no matter how nice, have a life span. I just keep next year’s life span in my basement. I don’t care if my toaster is a few years old, what’s the worst it can do, not toast in 10 seconds flat??? I can wait a min for a piece of toast. My boyfriend may bitch about the amount of shit in the basement but when I pull out a brand new toaster, ect… he doesn’t complain about not spending money.
@sammydog01 @Star2236 Yeah I know on the built to last part. I have the 1984 Kenmore washer and dryer and they are still going strong - each has only needed to be repaired once.
Mine technically arrived Friday but didn’t pick it up from the PMB until today.

Mine came the other day but I have been sick with the 2 week scourge going around down here in the hotter than hell armpit of the nation.
Not entirely clear why you’d use that back thing for. Box was beat up and signed by irk but the contents are still sealed in bags so hopefully it still works so I can give it away rather than throw it in the trash.

A bit late, but I’ve been a bit busy.
The box was seemingly a brand new Moen bidet EB2000, which is impressive (if it works - haven’t had time to get it out of the box).
Admittedly, I would have loved some of the other big items - robot vacuum, glass storage, back stretcher, air purifier (I actually bought one during the mehrathon, but could always use a second).

I also had to hunt to find where “IRK” was written on my box. It was teeny tiny and almost hidden by the box tape.
Had a really nice IRK. I don’t need pots and pans BUT a friend of a friend is leaving a violent household with just the clothes on her back. She evidently started crying when she found out I was giving these to her.

What, no Goop?
I mostly forget to post these anymore since i can’t do pictures from work. But mine came with the letters “IRK” proudly emblazoned with a sharpie on a Kohler box. Main content was an electric bidet. Seems unused.
But, like most of these, it’s for an elongated bowl and i have all round in my house.
@walarney Quick search doesn’t show meh selling a Kohler bidet. What is the model? (I have an elongated seat that is weird, and haven’t found one to fit)
