Lost boys in a cave

I’ve been dimly aware of this drama going on over in Thailand. Lost group of teen “football” players stuck in a cave for nine days before they were found. It’s amazing that they were found at all by the British Cave Rescue Council. It’s amazing.

One picture stood out to me. Why do we need masked Special Forces responding?

Anyhoo, I found the pictures entertaining. I think most of Thailand’s population is up on the mountain now.

That whole damn situation is a mess. Running out of air and time. The actual dive seems like the last resort for them, since they might not make it back out. One ex-Thai Navy Seal already died working on this.

I mean, it looks like he’s wearing a balaclava to me. He may just be protecting his face from biting bugs. I’ve been following this for a while now and it’s just such a horrible situation for all involved. I’m really hoping they luck out and find a natural chimney close since the boys thought they heard dogs/livestock at times. There’s no way they can make it out through the tunnels at this point.

The mask might be in case he ever takes part in undercover situations.

At least that what the cop said to me when he pulled me over for not using my turn signal. He probably just thought it made him look cool though.

In countries where government officials are blackmailed by gangs or cartels, police officers will wear masks to remain anonymous. This can allow them to actually do the job they’re supposed to do and not get wrapped up in the corruption.
