KoolHandjoe's First Ever Monsterfy This Challenge
31THE CHALLENGE:
Monsterfy something
Find an item around your house that can be Monsterfied… it can be anything
Have an old book? Turn it into a spell book or a book monster
Old lamp? Maybe make a skull base or a Leatherface style shade for it
Stuffed animal? Scare Bear the heck out of it
Old bottles? Could be specimen jars or potion bottles
Old Dolls? Need I say more
Anything you have lying around is fair game. Use additional items you have around the house to help transform the main item. Think of it as upcycling.
TIMELINE:
The Challenge begins now.
On Friday October 8th 2021 a Reveal Thread will be posted.
Challenge ends at 12:00am on Friday October 15th and all submissions need to be posted to the Reveal Thread by then.
KoolHandJoe will personally judge and select 3 Winners on Friday October 15th.
THE RULES:
Only 1 entry per person.
Item you are Monsterfying must be something you already own.
You cannot spend more than $25.00 on additional supplies needed to do the monsterfication.
Additional items you currently have laying around can be used without counting toward the $25.00 spend limit.
The Challenge is open to anyone except Mercatalyst employees.
All submissions must be added to the reveal thread. The reveal thread will be created on Friday October 8th.
If stuck or need advice on how to do a certain thing I will gladly offer help in this thread so everyone can benefit from it… others are welcome to offer ideas as well.
Posting ideas and updates encouraged in this thread.
THE PRIZE:
3 Winners will receive an IRK.
All 3 IRK boxes will contain items curated personally by KoolHandJoe and will also contain an original KoolHandJoe creation that has never before been seen.

Ohhhhhhhh snap.
@RiotDemon
@RD, you are called to this challenge.
Step forth and accept.
/giphy I am Spartacus
@RD @RiotDemon
Uh oh. Bad Giphy, and I ran out of time to fix it.
Sorry, I wanted a gladiator giphy.
@f00l
/giphy are you not entertained
Awwwwwww shit!!! Now I need to get a hurry up in my get along with my current projects cause this need to happen!!!
@sillyheathen you know you have a leg (maybe an arm and a spleen) up on everyone. I have to get my wife involved in this.
@Felton10 @sillyheathen Yeah, maybe you need 2 levels - a pro and an amateur contest.
@Felton10 @Kyeh nah mine will be rubbish. And I promise you there are plenty of super talented people up in this place including yourselves!
@Kyeh @sillyheathen Anyone who has a murder shed has an advantage.
@Felton10 @Kyeh @sillyheathen We were all amateurs at one point… and because I am the jury and the judge… I promise a fair chance to all who enter regardless of perceived skill level… that is why I decided to have 3 winners instead of just one. Sometimes the idea behind a project is just as amazing and as important as the execution is… but to level it off I know that I will offer advice to anyone who needs help and so will others.
@Felton10 @Koolhandjoe @Kyeh couldn’t agree with you more!
@Koolhandjoe @sillyheathen
@Felton10 Make something out of bubble wrap!
@Koolhandjoe @Kyeh @sillyheathen How about monsterfying some balls.
@Felton10 @Koolhandjoe @Kyeh methinks that is requisite in your case my friend!
@Felton10 @Kyeh @sillyheathen
If only you knew someone with a surplus of balls…
@Koolhandjoe @Kyeh @sillyheathen But they might never be the same after I do that?
@Koolhandjoe @Kyeh @sillyheathen Who me?
I really look forward to seeing the results!
The entire CS team is sad we can’t participate.
But I’m looking forward to seeing the entries!
@Thumperchick Play anyway. We want to see…
Hmmm. Will have to start thinking. I am kind of the opposite of creative. I can see and admire things but the imagination part stumps me.
@speediedelivery start from the end and work backwards… look up halloween decor and find something you would buy… then find things around your house you could use to make it yourself… and as you go you most likely find you are more creative than you think you are
@Koolhandjoe @speediedelivery reverse engineer the creepiness!
Experimented a bit. Horrifying so far. The thought is not translating well to medium.
Oh, I’ve had a little project in the back of my mind for about three years and haven’t done it yet. Probably way too simple to be competitive (it’s literally GLUE A THING ON A THING), but this may be the push I need to actually do it. I just have to figure out where I put everything…
@mossygreen gluing a thing on a thing is sometimes all it takes
I’ve monsterified my appearance considerably by living in my body.
I certainly intend to spend no more than $25 on my appearance between now and the deadline
I presume that if I just post an exceptionally ugly and frightening selfie, I’ll have no real competition.
Correct?
/giphy “ugly selfie”
Do my 3D printer and stock of filament count as laying around?
@tyler524 i would say it can be used as a craft supply you already own… so it would be fair to use it… but the idea behind monsterfication is to change something normal into a creepy art piece… keep that in mind.
@Koolhandjoe Oh, I understand. I was just thinking a little accoutrements may be needed
@tyler524 I gotcha… but yes as an already owned craft supply it falls well with in the the rules and honestly am excited to see what you do with it
@Koolhandjoe @tyler524 please send me a 3D printer so I have a fair chance.
@Koolhandjoe @medz No 3D printer is needed for great creativity to prosper. It is only but another potential tool to work with. Some of the best creations come from the least resources
@Koolhandjoe @tyler524 pfft… Acting like it isn’t easier for someone who already has a crafting room, supplies, and 3D printer.
/giphy ok
@tyler524 our design really needs some scary wings… Can’t find any on existing toys to cut off. Bet I could print some if’n I had that 3D printer.
/giphy rigged
@medz @tyler524 with some wire and liquid latex you can make scary wings… brush out the latex on a smooth flat surface and let dry… repeat a bunch of times… shape the wire… liberally apply baby powder to the latex and peel up adding powder to the bottom as you pull… stretch over wire and super glue in place
@Koolhandjoe @tyler524 there goes my $25 budget
@medz @tyler524 there is also using wire (wire coat hanger works) and plastic sheeting ($0.99 at Walmart) … shape the wire glue the plastic sheeting to it… use a heatgun, a lighter or blowtorch to shrink the plastic… super cheap
I guess I have a lighter…no heat gun nor blow torch. We don’t even have a normal blow dryer. Only have the kind that are also brushes.
@medz Sometimes the cheapest and most off the wall workarounds end up looking the best… You just got to step back and think… how CAN I do this?.. instead of focusing on all the ways you can’t.
@Koolhandjoe I’m under no delusions that I can actually do anything. Right now, I’m facing creative differences with my kid and my more ambitious ideas are getting vetoed.
@medz my kid does the same to me… I am anxious to see y’alls final creation
Ooooooh perfect timing. I have two projects I’ve been meaning to get started on. I have pretty much everything here already.
@Pony can’t wait to see what you do!
I was just thinking…
Maybe we could do something with the mother-in-law! Can’t be that tough, at 84 she’s already half way there! Lol
…just kidding!
Things lying around the house – do cats count? (They are outside cats and pretty lazy – about the only time they move is when my dog chases them.) They are not dead – yet – but my dog would be happy to contribute.
Their memory would last longer, if monsterfied. And the neighbors probably wouldn’t mind having fewer cats around at night to argue over with each other about who is toughest.
@phendrick Can give the neighborhood’s trick-or-treating kids a treat they wouldn’t soon forget:
@phendrick I just came here to say that too… (grin) except outside of napping 20 hours a day mine aren’t “lying around the house” so they might be excluded on that technicality. Yours being outdoor cats might be found in violation of the “around the house” - oh wait if they don’t stray from the yard that is in space that is around the house
@phendrick I find that video sad if it is a real cat, dead or not, that was used.
It’s on like Donkey Kong! Jk, I got nothin’… but I’m excited to see what everybody else does!
@ircon96 I think everyone who doesn’t think they can or don’t think they can come up with something should try… I believe most people would be shocked at what they can come up with if they just heed the sirens call and attempt this challenge
@Koolhandjoe I always love your perpetual enthusiastic optimism!
I was at Michael’s yesterday and they had bags of baby arms and legs cheap. Heads too!
@sammydog01 SCORE!!!
To help ya’ll people get started here are some Youtube tutorials that I used when I was first learning…
Monster Tutorials… his stuff is so cool and he does a great job explaining each step and makes it easy to follow… plus his older videos focus small budget props. Below are three tutorials that might help inspire:
Spell Book Tutorial
and
Follow Me Eyes Tutorial
and
Dollar Store Skull Corpsing
Also check out Stiltbeast Studios on youtube… lots of great ideas there too!
@Koolhandjoe Dollar Store Skull Corpsing, a classic! Waiting for the updated 2021 edition, $1.50 Store Skull Corpsing!
@Koolhandjoe two of my favorites.
The subconscious is working on ideas now… Excited to hopefully follow through with one!
DAMN IT, WHERE’S THAT BAG OF EYES?!
@mossygreen I have extras leftover from my eyeball flowers- here! (throws eyeballs at you)
@Pony Thanks! [misses every eyeball, most roll under furniture but several fall down the heating vent despite vent cover]
@mossygreen I have a big jar of googly eyes, but I think those are hard to make creepy.
@djslack I think those work better to de-monsterfy.
@djslack @mossygreen @Pony
If yall only knew how many jars, containers, boxes, bags and various other receptacles of eyes i had laying around… its crazy
@djslack @Koolhandjoe @mossygreen @Pony I bet you have so eyes around the house because you remove eyes from your creations. You need to monsterfy a working security camera with those eyes.
@djslack @Kidsandliz @mossygreen @Pony
Indeed that is true… but I have also been trying out different sources of eyes for the dolls… as well as I am starting to play around with resin and hope to start making my own soon
@djslack @Koolhandjoe @mossygreen @Pony Now that’s a scary thought. You making eyeballs… Those will not be normal .
@djslack @Kidsandliz @Koolhandjoe @mossygreen Normal is for… well, normal people. Eww.
@djslack @Kidsandliz @Koolhandjoe @mossygreen @Pony as a friend says, Normal is just a setting on the dryer.
mine is done! Waiting to submit. Was able to use things lying around the house
@ironcheftoni HOW ARE YOU SO FAST?!
@ironcheftoni @mossygreen
Well, this is the person who’s submitted at least 2 cakes and “7 entries in the canned foods contest and got two firsts and a second” at the Texas State Fair. So someone who really knows how get things done and compete!
@mossygreen it’s something very simple. It’s not really scary by Koolhandjoe standards but i think it’s good.
@ironcheftoni Understood; still impressed.
@ironcheftoni @mossygreen i cant wait to see what you have done
I didn’t buy it, because it was $75, but I saw an absolutely terrifying vintage Shirley Temple doll yesterday. Hairless; eyes that open and close; disturbing teeth. Wouldn’t have been appropriate for the challenge, of course, as it was already creepy as hell. I still haven’t gotten over it. Didn’t take a picture in case it was cursed.
@mossygreen Did it come with a free frogurt, at least?
@ircon96 You know, I didn’t even think to ask. Rookie mistake.
/giphy cursed doll
I probably can’t make it a…horrifying or scary monsterification, maybe more of a cutesy monsterify touch. But I love being creative and crafty, and I love a challenge! Ideas are already flooding in, and I can’t wait to get started and see everyone else’s unique items!
@nonlion I often find cute things terrifying so you should cute it up!
@sillyheathen lol! Alright, i shall then haha
@nonlion monsters come in all shapes and sizes… not all are scary or creepy… just follow the inspiration
@Koolhandjoe thank you! I certainly will
@Koolhandjoe @nonlion So you’re saying my mother can make an account to enter, even though she has no intention of making anything scary at all and may not even make a monster? I have no idea what she’s thinking of doing, I think she just likes a challenge that involves crafting.
Someone (Fortescue Sea Chest, in Fortescue, NJ - a friend of mine and his wife own this store) is selling this:
I’d guess it is more than a tad over $25 to monsterfy but for the benefit of the twisted () minds on here I am posting it anyway.
@Kidsandliz Ha! We have one of those in a larger size. It’s up on top of the closet in our entryway with a little light that kind of looks like waves.
@Kidsandliz I had to go take a picture because I didn’t explain it very well. lolz
@Pony OK s that is too creepy. I guess the light is to make it look like it is underwater.
@Kidsandliz Yeah, that was the idea, but the reality fell waaaay short. lol
@Pony I think I’d just put a kid’s mermaid halloween costume on it and leave it at that. Of course you could monsterfy the costume so you don’t wreck the skeleton. Or cover its head in a nylon and wreck that and then put it over it’s head (again thinking about protecting the skeleton.
@Kidsandliz Nah, we like it just like it is. I have 3 projects I’m working on already, I’ll probably have to decide which one to enter in the contest at the last minute. hehe.
@Kidsandliz @Pony Tha mermaid is awesome… you should make some fake rocks using the pink insulation foam and add some fake moss and textures to it… make a whole underwater scene up there
OWLS! TOWELS! JOWLS! AWESOME!
@Kidsandliz @Koolhandjoe I don’t know… maybe someday, but it’s up so high it doesn’t get noticed half the time. I do have a bunch of old fishing net, though… I had thought about hanging some of that behind it and a few bits tangled over it so the cause of death would be quite obvious. lol damn tuna fishing industry.
@Kidsandliz @Koolhandjoe @Pony
yep… all the nets don’t have TEDs!
I have this old cookbook. Any ideas? Haven’t had it translated yet…
@PocketBrain oohhhhh a book of Halloween witches’ spells. What great find.
@PocketBrain I know. Google the recipe for a shrunken head (I know they exist - saw one as a kid in the Cleveland history museum along with 3 shrunken heads there). Make a shrunken head mounted on the recipe book and have the recipe written out on an index card in appropriately red bleeding ink. Or a cannibalism recipe and the “dinner” on a spit or in a pot.
@PocketBrain that is cool… you could use toilet paper and modpodge to give it some texture and painted it a rusty brown to make it look old
@PocketBrain I think it says To Serve Man? Couldn’t possibly be a cookbook.
@PocketBrain @sammydog01
A cannibalist cookbook?
So cool!! My 6yo loves creepy things and I think this is going to be a great project for us to do together!!
I found some eyes, but not the specific ones I sought. Should have specified to the universe. Getting closer, though!
@mossygreen Oh, I like those!
@mossygreen I’ll take two please.
@sillyheathen A la carte or as a meal?
@mossygreen methinks I may need three now that you’ve proposed that question……
Thanks for the contest- I needed a push to start crafting again. Gonna clean off my craft table tomorrow and give it a go!
@sammydog01 tomorrow is my day for finishing my yard… And visiting my friends… How am I going to do a craft as well??? Lol
@RiotDemon @sammydog01 break out the insanity juice!
@sammydog01 @sillyheathen possibly!! Ahhhhhhhh!
@koolhandjoe
Is it only 1 person per entry though? I’m thinking my kids and I can do an entry together… they’re all under 15
@mbersiam It is probably best to stick to one entry per account… some people have kiddos some don’t and I think this is the best way to keep it fair for those who don’t and give everyone the best shot to win
@Koolhandjoe We’d only do one entry… just wondering if they can help me
@mbersiam absolutely
@Koolhandjoe @mbersiam are you thinking they are something you have laying around that doesn’t count towards the $25?
@j37hr0 @Koolhandjoe kids cost way more than $25 but they wouldn’t be part of the final product
Took something we got in an IRK which we had multiples of and were not going to use and started with that and went to work on that.
@Felton10 Ooooh now that’s true upcycling! Brilliant!
do we need to provide before and after photos or just of the finished result?
@ironcheftoni let’s tag @koolhandjoe to find out.
@ironcheftoni @RiotDemon I don’t think so… unless you want too. Might be cool to see the transformation… but not required
One more day until submissions are allowed. I can’t wait to see what everyone has made! For me, the painting process is starting today
@nonlion I only have pieces. I haven’t even had time to start assembly. Mine will probably be down to the wire unfortunately.
@sillyheathen You obviously haven’t been spending enough time in your murder shed to get the right motivation to devote both night and day to getting it done.
@Felton10 I live in my shed these days. I’ve just been working on a massive Harry Potter commission. I’d send pictures but some pieces are a surprise for the bride so I can only show you things she’s already seen.
@Felton10
@Felton10 @sillyheathen those are awesome though… nicely done
KRULL! A SKULL! BRETT HULL! AWESOME!
@Felton10 @Koolhandjoe hey shanks! The hand painting is my favorite. It’s just time consuming. I really want to try to dedicate more time to it overall. It’s one of my happiest places. Can’t wait to get started on the monsterfication!
@Felton10 @Koolhandjoe @sillyheathen Wow that’s incredible!!
@koolhandjoe Wonder what anyone thinks about whether there is any benefit to waiting until the last minute to post your submission. Some people might wait to see what others have done, think theirs is not good enough and redo it or start over completely. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
@Felton10 I am hoping that this community being what it is… will be encouraging to everyone who submits… and I hope everyone understands that the inspiration and thought behind the idea will impact the judgement as much as the finished product… This is why I wanted to pick the winners personally… not only to recognize talent… but to encourage creativity
@Felton10 My son started on a project already so it won’t matter what others do. We’re just excited to have a family project
@Felton10 @Koolhandjoe It’s like gym class, or art class. You’re graded on: did you show up? Did you make an effort? Did you think about it and do it to the best of your ability? Not: did you do it as well as the girl who’s been taking gymnastics since preschool or the kid who can draw like da Vinci?
@mossygreen could not have said it better myself
@Felton10 @Koolhandjoe @mossygreen
Except that way back when I was in gym classes the girls who started in preschool not only got the better grades, but also got all the help; I always detested PE classes sooo much.
I’m just about done with two of the projects that I am going to choose from for my entry, and about to start on the third. But I have NO idea which I should enter. lol I have created myself into a corner.
I’ve never been a huge Halloween lover (I know I know) but I truly love this contest. I feel like we’re all together as a community, carving out pumpkins or going through a maze. It feels fun to be connected to so many people throughout the states (and maybe the world? Idk how far Meh reaches) and perfectly festive.
/giphy what day is it?
Reveal Thread is up!!!
Good Luck Everyone
https://meh.com/forum/topics/koolhandjoes-first-ever-monsterfy-this-challenge-the-reveal-thread
@Koolhandjoe Ah! Not ready yet!! But its coming along! My 6yo is sooo excited about this! Hopefully it looks more like an 8yo made it though! It for sure wont look as good as something made by @sillyheathen but it should bring some smiles. Or are we going about this wrong and it should make people scream and cry and run away. Oh well!
@iutami @sillyheathen i am anxious to see what yall made… remember the challenge is still going on for a week… so plenty of time to finish up any projects.
I couldn’t sleep last night, so I got up and did my third project. Turns out it’s the one I want to enter, but I have to wait for my husband to take the pics this evening after work because my phone just isn’t capturing it well. (his phone’s camera is way better) I’m excited to see all the stuff people have been working on!
@Pony i can’t wait to see it!!!
@Pony You are planning to share pictures of the runners up right? I liked the progress pics in the other thread.
@speediedelivery I feel like I should wait until after the contest, maybe? But yes, I will share photos of them.
@Pony @speediedelivery you could post them as a comment under your offical post… i will only judge pocs from the actual post
@Koolhandjoe @speediedelivery Well, I took pictures, but our connection is so shitty tonight I can’t even see the photos on the thread, much less upload any. I’ll try again later, I guess.
@Koolhandjoe @Pony @speediedelivery can’t wait to see!!!
Guess I have to stop staring at my supplies and start attaching them each other…
@mossygreen i tell you what… if it wasn’t for the last second… i would never get anything done
@Koolhandjoe @mossygreen
#Procrastinatingaddkidsunite?
@Koolhandjoe @mossygreen @sillyheathen This is something I can win. I can also underestimate the length of time needed to do something in the top percentile.
@mossygreen @sillyheathen @speediedelivery just remember hair dryers and heatguns help things dry… and if using CA glue… baking soda works as an accelerator in a pinch
I can’t find my teeth dammit.
@sammydog01 just shape some from hot glue as it melts using wax paper… instant teeth
@Koolhandjoe I love that. Thanks!
@sammydog01 I have plenty in the shed if you need some!
@sillyheathen Thanks, but I found them. They were hidden in a tea tin. Good thing I wasn’t expecting tea. I also found them cheap on Amazon. Ordered a couple more sets because you can never have too many teeth lying around the house.
@sammydog01 @sillyheathen
This conversation is hilarious - I want to copy and paste it into a message to someone without any context!
@Kyeh @sammydog01 @sillyheathen I forgot I ordered these… and after this conversation it made me laugh when I opened it
@Koolhandjoe @Kyeh @sammydog01 did you get those from the shed???
@Koolhandjoe @sammydog01 @sillyheathen They’re very realistic!
Well, things have been attached to each other. Turns out that was the easy part, because now I have to worry about messing up a decent beginning.
@mossygreen You can do eeet! (shakes pom poms)
@mossygreen lol that’s exactly where im at now!
The real live black widow I was considering adding has decided to relocate herself, which is probably for the best since I have no idea what i would have done with her after getting her in a jar.
@metaphore I had a black widow I kept as a pet for almost a year. Her name was Loretta. She was gorgeous.
@metaphore @Pony spiders are so misunderstood! They’re really beautiful and fascinating creatures. I had a tarantula named Harry in high school and she was fantastic! I’ve tried to talk the Englishman into letting me get another one but so far it’s a no go.
@metaphore @sillyheathen I have eleven tarantulas. (so far!) I just love them.
@metaphore @Pony @sillyheathen We have 4 tarantulas at our science museum and I love them. A couple of weeks ago one was digging out a burrow under it’s water dish, carrying out stuff one bundle at a time. Poor thing was going to be in for a surprise on water changing day.
Photos?
@sammydog01 Only a few of them are out right now, so I just took pics of them. First off is Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens- this one is just little, but growing well.
2: Lasiodora parahybana.
3: Aphonopelma seemanni
4: Tliltocatl albopilosus
@Pony @sammydog01 I love how you’ve furnished its dwelling!
What are their (non-scientific) names?
Do they all live together or separately?
@Kyeh @sammydog01 They each have their own enclosure. Most tarantulas are very territorial, though there are a few species that can be kept communally. Common names are (1) Greenbottle Blue (2) Salmon pink bird eater (3) Striped-knee tarantula and (4) Curly-haired tarantula. She has had her house decorated several different ways, but she always has her pink flamingos. She just loves them.
I’m rehousing my Tliltocatl vagans later today, so I should be able to get a photo of her then. She’s super skittish and hides most of the time.
@Kyeh @Pony @sammydog01
looking at these makes me feel like I just walked through a spider web
@Pony @sammydog01 Oh, cool! But do you also have personal names for them?
@Kyeh @Pony So pretty!
@koolhandjoe Ha! Not a fan of spiders, huh?
@Kyeh Oh, nah- I don’t have names for them. Maybe I’ll get around to it someday.
@sammydog01 Thanks! (I say, as if I can take credit) I wish I could get pics of my super shy juveniles to show you, but they are just too stubborn about staying hidden.
@Koolhandjoe @Kyeh @Pony @sammydog01
The reason I can’t have a tarantula:
How does a pet owner know they are well-hidden instead of escaped?
@Kyeh @Pony @sammydog01 not that i am scared… just not a fan… we get those jumping wolf spiders occasionally in dark areas like in most warehouses… and occasionally one will jump out of a pallet at you… quite a startling experience everytime
@metaphore @Pony methinks we should also be neighbors. We need to buy a huge piece of property and have a meh compound! The coolest creepiest place ever there was!
@Koolhandjoe @Kyeh @Pony @sammydog01 oh I LOVE the wolf spiders. They’re so great for eating all sorts of things you don’t want around!
@compunaut No worries about escaping if you have them in a good secure enclosure.
@Koolhandjoe I actually was a hardcore arachnophobe through all of my childhood and a good chunk of my adult life. It was gardening that took the edge off, since there were always spiders around the plants, and then keeping the Black Widow converted me from being afraid to being fascinated.
@sillyheathen It would be great to have people around who didn’t look at me like my head is going to start spinning any minute… (lots of old/country folks out here) doesn’t help that we rolled in after dark on Halloween last year when we moved here. hehe.
Ooh wolf spiders are awesome! I caught this one at our old place. She still had a bunch of babies on her, so I let her go, but I was tempted to keep her.
LEGOS! EGGOS! STRATEGO! AWESOME!
@Pony @sammydog01 @sillyheathen For a year or 2 there was a little spider that lived in the broom cupboard in the kitchen, I had an agreement with him that as long as he stayed in there and was in one of the corners where I knew where he was at I would leave him alone and he could manage the fruit flies for me.
@metaphore @Pony @sammydog01 @sillyheathen Funny coincidence - I just saw a bunch of fruit flies struggling in a web at the corner of my windowsill. It pays off sometimes to not be a neat freak!
@sammydog01 I just finished rehousing my Tliltocatl vagans. Here she is- I just love that red haired patootie.
@Pony that is AMAZEBALLS!!!
@Pony So don’t you also have chickens and dogs and cats, including one cat who walks on its front paws only when it gets into a crazy mood?!
@Kyeh We have thirtysomething chickens, four ducks, three sheep, two dogs, two snakes, a giant day gecko, a pacman frog and four cats. The cats all walk consistently on four paws, though.
@Kyeh @Pony OMG! It must have been a huge chore just to move all those critters
@compunaut @Pony WOW. Yeah, that’s quite a menagerie. I guess I got you mixed up with this person:
Who strangely enough only seems to have been on the forum to post cat pics.
@compunaut @Kyeh well, when we moved we only had the dogs, cats, seventeen chickens and two snakes. We all piled into our forty-foot bus and hit the road. It was a great trip.
@metaphore @Pony @sillyheathen Some tarantulas get really big. My daughter was telling me the ones in Cambodia had bodies bigger than her hand. She also then had to tell me the recipe to cook them (children pluck off the hairs, the grownups take the “poison thing out”, cut them up and stir fry them). I asked her if she wanted tarantula for dinner thinking how would I tell Petsmart that I wanted their biggest tarantula and no food for it. She then, fortunately, told me, “Oh no mom. Spider no good. In this country we have chicken”.
I’m starting my piece today!!! Let’s pray I can get the main piece together so I have a few days to finish the detail work!
@sillyheathen
/giphy so excited!
@sammydog01 me too! If it comes out anything remotely like what’s in my head, it’s should be pretty flipping cool! Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
@sillyheathen Yay! I’m looking forward to seeing it!
@Pony so much nervous excitement!
One more coat of glow-in-the-dark nail polish and I think I’m done!
@mossygreen Glow in the dark is the best!
@mossygreen yay! Can’t wait to see!!!
