But if it were an Apple speaker it would be the same quality but they’d charge you $350 for it. And you wouldn’t even be able to plug it in to your iPhone 7 without a dongle. AND they wouldn’t even give you a full Apple on the logo, they just give you one that somebody has already taken a bite out of!
@Mehsturbator yea they are sorta new… only been around since 1946. (to be fair audiovox’s parent bought them in 2011 so who am I to say if they are any good anymore…)
@RedOak Actually no. I don’t really actually know that many audio companies. Only really started to look into them about a year and a half back when I was shopping for some good BT over-ear headphones, so I’ve heard of companies that make those. But my experiences with other audio equipment is pretty lacking.
Also, I’m in my early 20s so that may be part of the reason?
@Mehsturbator That may indeed be part of it. Google Klipschorns, Belle Klipsch, Klipsch Heresy… legendary speakers. Of course, Audiovox bought them out and they aren’t the independent American loudspeaker juggernaut they once were; I haven’t really bothered investigating the quality of their recent offerings. But there is (or at least was) something special behind the Klipsch name.
@thismyusername I’m actually immensely satisfied with the ones I got and the audio quality between wired and wireless is pretty much identical. So I’d say there are good Bluetooth headphones.
@thismyusername V-MODA using a Nexus 6P usually. So, yeah, I’m pretty sure it’s not the highest possible quality, but I don’t claim to be an audiophile by any means.
@Mehsturbator Oh, I know! Meh should send me one for free so I can stop being an ignorant uncultured little shit and experience this company for myself!
@brhfl I auditioned some Klipsch mid/high end speakers a few years ago, maybe 4.
I wanted them: based on the Name, the Reputation, the horns!, the history, the copper color, all of it.
I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t even pretend to try them at home. I’m sure that they were awesome to most people, but I heard the high-freqs buzzing. It’s not the speakers so much. The Klipsch were just tuned to the resonance of my tinnitus. It was an immediate reaction. The sales dude wasted zero time and just took them away.
@brhfl I’ve got some friends who are close with Klipsch, and apparently Audiovox didn’t really meddle much with the innerworkings of the company and product design. Gave them creative freedom, and just took over HR.
@wishod that thing is a beast… 240W peak… can wireless pair to another of its ilk for dual speakers, but indeed that is using apt-x (or b&os variant) to clean up the bluetooth audio compression… and pretty dang expensive!
@Mehsturbator My Klipsch earbuds are the most accurate I’ve ever owned. If you don’t want overdone bass, this is the brand for you. Damn near a flat response curve.
@jonjen2 to be fair, lots of Bluetooth speaker reviewers complain about that, and it’s not always true. But buying a Bluetooth speaker for sound quality is like buying the best DVD player- it’s only going to be so good. (I want stereo sound, damn it.)
@jonjen2 The vast majority of the time, people have problems with bluetooth speakers when it’s really their own phone’s fault. They just don’t bother troubleshooting.
Most people don’t even bother doing the minimal ‘remove/readd speaker from their phone’s bluetooth settings’ before claiming the speaker is dead.
Meh you put car keys as a reference size ? really? How about a toaster or a shoe box etc. Its a way tiny speaker like selling a shoe and for ref you put a penny next to it its downright wrong meh wrong ,wrong, wrong, But!!! its 10 watts and at a nice price point only if you believe Amazon retail; and list, my eyes say AND THE SPECS SAY this is a 35 dollar speaker all day long not a penny more and i bought that crap 808 tower you sold a few back for 25 bucks !!! Not to mention about 8 headsets and earbuds and maybe 10 speakers I’ve bought on Meh.com. Not tonight Meh not tonight but i Love you guys
@mellowirishgent For reference, 808 is kinda a crap brand. Klipsch makes loads of high-end stuff, and always goes for audio quality over anything else, in my experience.
I’ve got one of these Grooves, and I can’t recommend it enough. I’ve had zero issues with connecting, and it sounds absolutely phenomenal for the size.
I’ve been using Klipsch products for years now, and I’ve never had any issues.
(to the ending tune of Irk’s speaker dock song) Can I please get Speaker Docks? I love them; They’re not bologna in socks, they are amazing Speaker Docks!
I got a Yahoo branded Bluetooth speaker from an account rep there a few years ago. You know a product has gone too cheap to give a shit about when it becomes corporate shwag.
@jasd2d That’s how they get you, first it’s just a little tap now and then…but soon you’ll be staying up for the roll-over just to click that little button.
Damn! I just ordered a good quality bluetooth speaker 2 days ago! (We’re replacing a radio in the kitchen with an iPad and a Bluetooth speaker. This would have worked great for that environment, where we need good sound quality but not audiophile, and no stereo is not an issue.)
I agree with the sentiment of today’s writeup. That’s why I picked up a JBL Clip 2 during a minor deal after enduring the muddy acoustics, non-portability, and extended connection time of a no-name (Bem) BT speaker purchased from…meh.
lately i’ve had a hankering for a decent sounding, well priced, waterproof bluetooth speaker. how many of those have i missed by ignoring every speaker sale for the last two years?
And then I just bought a Sony ZS-BTG900 boombox for everything else as I hate how quickly the non replaceable rechargeable batteries die on everything.
@sammydog01 the waterproof one would need to be on a pretty good durn sale for me to get it, tho i bet it sounds pretty good. i’ll have to see if its ever anywhere in the $50-$60 range.
@darkzrobe how is the sound on that VicTsing? it doesn’t need to be special, but i’d like it to sound better than a hallow tin can. price sure is right.
@sammydog01 i remember that sale, and i remember wanting to buy one, i do not, however remember what happened. only that i do not have this glorious floating banana boat speaker. suxor.
@meh I picked that one because of the 5 watt speaker. I mean no super bass but its not tinny. And loud enough for all the shower noise. Been using mine for almost 2 years every day.
My work has banned headphones in the warehouse but said it was OK to have a boom box so I saw this and got it. I have been with meh.com before they where meh.com and this is the best purchase I have ever made from their websites.

WANT PURPLE TOOTH!!
Would you believe it? Another Bluetooth speaker. knivesandspeakerdocks.com
@cengland0 But, the speaker docks were the anti-bluetooth!
Meh speaker-- – sounds about right except for the price!
its not a speaker dock, but its Bluetooth…
Not even a knife in it? Pass
Humm, mono. But I have two ears.
@rjquillin Don’t worry, meh will sell a knife in the next day or two.
@rjquillin easy solution… buy 2 and this:
https://www.amazon.com/Hosa-YMM-261-Stereo-Breakout-Cable/dp/B000068O5H
@thismyusername Is that a Bluetooth splitter? There’s no 3.5mm jack on these.
@HankB33 There is, actually. Page 10.
@brhfl Ahh… I looked but didn’t see that - Thanks!
Still not stereo huh? Yeah, didn’t think so.
I am whelmed.
@jaburg That reminds me when you hear about disgruntled employees. Have you ever heard of gruntled ones?
@cengland0 Why are you being dundant?
@mike808 When you were in school, did they call you “ceptional?”
@jaburg
They just called me “ex”.
@f00l Pull yourself together so you can be be combobulated.
@jaburg …but not overly.
@stevebopp if at first you don’t semble, resemble.
But does @moose know anything about music? I would rather have Jason’s opinion. Can you send one to Australia and have him check it out?
I have never heard of this company.
So, this is probably a deal.
@Mehsturbator yea they are sorta new… only been around since 1946. (to be fair audiovox’s parent bought them in 2011 so who am I to say if they are any good anymore…)
@Mehsturbator
You’re joking, right?
@Mehsturbator Klipsch is high end name. Of course that doesn’t guarantee it isn’t crap.
@RedOak Actually no. I don’t really actually know that many audio companies. Only really started to look into them about a year and a half back when I was shopping for some good BT over-ear headphones, so I’ve heard of companies that make those. oxymoron
@thismyusername I’m actually immensely satisfied with the ones I got and the audio quality between wired and wireless is pretty much identical. So I’d say there are good Bluetooth headphones.
@Mehsturbator what brand? what phone? if your happy thats all that matters I suppose
of course… if you can’t tell the difference between wired and bluetooth you are likely using aptx/similar or very low quality source material.

@thismyusername Beolit 15 sounds good
@brhfl I recently resurrected my pair of Klipsch Forte’s from the 80’s. Great speakers.
I want this Klipsch. But can I apply my VMP “last call” Ron Popeil $30 price to it?
I am just gonna drop this here…
there we go…
/me wanders off
@thismyusername Eau my. It’s so yuuuge.
@thismyusername Thank you!
Nope. Reviews say “Problems with connecting after disconnect” … So; No Thank you.
@jonjen2 to be fair, lots of Bluetooth speaker reviewers complain about that, and it’s not always true. But buying a Bluetooth speaker for sound quality is like buying the best DVD player- it’s only going to be so good. (I want stereo sound, damn it.)
@wishlish I don’t think stereo out of a 3x5 inch speaker really works with a human sized head.
@sammydog01 At this size, I’d way rather have a solid mono implementation than some crazy psychoacoustic attempt at stereo, that’s for sure.
Man looks small, I’m too cheap to get one but feel free to send my way if you do buy and don’t like .
LIKE TO BE A VIP AND IT DID NOT GIVE ME THE OFFER TO BE A VIP WHAT DO I DO
@Arelys pay shipping and look at my VMP badge with envy.
(they quit offering VMP signups, but if yours lapsed due to a card change or similar issue contact support)

If I buy this and it is the size of 6 jewl cases rather than 6 CDs I am going to be pissed.
Does it do speakerphone?
/8ball Does it do speakerphone?
Without a doubt
Bonus points for Marty MehcFly.
@cinoclav Does that mean you’re going to buy two?
Hi @Moose! I was starting to think you quit and forgot to tell us.
@Moose No, but it does mean you get an extra pat on the back if and when I ever come visit HQ.
@jasd2d You’ve been here over two years and this is your first shit-post? I bet you don’t even click the meh button.
@therealjrn I tapped it with great joy.
My first one.
@jasd2d That’s how they get you, first it’s just a little tap now and then…but soon you’ll be staying up for the roll-over just to click that little button.
@jasd2d Hi!!!
/giphy click button
@therealjrn I know I do.
/buy
@therealjrn It worked! Your order number is: handmade-noxious-bubble
/image handmade noxious bubble
I will never buy another Klipsch product after the crappy headphones. Can’t get replacement ear pads anywhere
Damn! I just ordered a good quality bluetooth speaker 2 days ago! (We’re replacing a radio in the kitchen with an iPad and a Bluetooth speaker. This would have worked great for that environment, where we need good sound quality but not audiophile, and no stereo is not an issue.)
think I have at least 5 BT speakers rattling around house now, will wait for they to die before jumping on the next one.
I agree with the sentiment of today’s writeup. That’s why I picked up a JBL Clip 2 during a minor deal after enduring the muddy acoustics, non-portability, and extended connection time of a no-name (Bem) BT speaker purchased from…meh.
In for 1. I loved my Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 before my step son stole them. I have lots of Bluetooth stuff, but this is my first speaker.
lately i’ve had a hankering for a decent sounding, well priced, waterproof bluetooth speaker. how many of those have i missed by ignoring every speaker sale for the last two years?
@meh I wound up with one of these guys after my Meh Clarity HD speaker was crap. Splashproof, sounds pretty good, and $25 or $30 sometimes on eBay or Amazon. They also made a waterproof one.
https://www.monsterproducts.com/collections/speakers/superstar
Although the Banana Boat ones were awesome!
@meh
https://www.amazon.com/TDK-Life-Record-Wireless-Weatherproof/dp/B008VMT2HQ
That one was the one I was eyeballing for a while but I never pulled the trigger.
Ending up buying one of these for the shower/pool

And then I just bought a Sony ZS-BTG900 boombox for everything else as I hate how quickly the non replaceable rechargeable batteries die on everything.

@darkzrobe how is the sound on that VicTsing? it doesn’t need to be special, but i’d like it to sound better than a hallow tin can. price sure is right.
@meh $70 new on eBay is the best I found. Sorry you missed the Banana Boat speakers- $10 and they float. I use one in the bathtub.
It finally showed up. Definitely worth the $60.
My work has banned headphones in the warehouse but said it was OK to have a boom box so I saw this and got it. I have been with meh.com before they where meh.com and this is the best purchase I have ever made from their websites.
