As a 4 year old (my dad was a minister), the first week we were at a new church the sunday school teacher said I’d surely know the answer to her question because my daddy was the new minister at a big upper crust church. I told her, “The hell I do.”. She asked me where I learned that word. I told her, “My daddy uses it at home all the time.”. My parents were horrified.

@Kidsandliz @sillyheathen in jr high, i was walking backwards for some reason, walked right into someone and yelled “fuck!”. turned around and it was my spanish teacher. she just looks at me for a second and said “en espanol carlos?”. i just stared blankly. then she rattled off some spanish curses, laughed, and walked away.

Sounds like a cool teacher LOL. I hope you find an appropriate occasion to tell this story to your kid. I am sure it would make his day and cheer him up if he did something equally as “oops”.

I used to work with adjudicated youth taking them canoeing across the state of FL (by way of the Okefenokee swamp) and many of the kids were spanish speaking. I learned all sorts of swear words in spanish. Took a while to get the translation of some of them. I saved them though and never swore around them except when it was appropriate to act as if I was mad at what they did and then they’d say to whomever was picking the fight or whatever, “You better stop. Miss kidsandliz is really mad”. Worked just about every time.
