I blame @christinewas, November Goat, and you can too.
23The votes were pretty clear this month, with most everyone uniting behind @christinewas as the scapegoat this month. Time to let the gratuitous @ mentions roll in.
I'll start: I blame @christinewas for making me do work on a Sunday, on a time change day, and on my birthday.

Happy goathood, @christinewas!
I blame you because @dave is such an OLD grump today.
@Barney Accepted.
@christinewas Aww, I love purple.
@dave
@dave Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday @dave!
@christinewas I blame you for having to learn a new goat name spelling; I'd finally gotten used to @jaremelz (which I kept want to spell jaramelz) and now have to start over. Also what was that about letting her get away from her final goatly duty??? Now I have to keep remembering how to spell her name too...
@duodec
And he really swooped in with that badge change, didn't he?
@duodec I accept all responsibility for the fact that my name is easy to spell. Christine + Was. Christ + In + E + Was. You can do it, buddy!
@duodec Other words to learn: B-L-A-M-E and G-O-A-T.
(Side note: A good start so far, @christinewas. Any plans for this month?)
@narfcake I plan on disappointing people with the fact that I'm never awake in the morning, accepting blame from those who dare to cast it upon me, and, hopefully, facilitating a contest that forces people to behave a bit like children. We'll see what actually happens.
@christinewas Uh, don't a lot of mehmbers already behave like children?!
@narfcake Do not do not do not!
@jaremelz Ahem ...
(I'm blaming @christinewas that you didn't get a second month of goatdom.)
@narfcake ... yet. It's my fault that @jaremelz didn't get a second month of goatdom yet.
@narfcake They do. Which should mean the contest would be a great success. It all depends upon drawing out the appropriate childish behavior.
@christinewas Are you suggesting that some of us might be inappropriate?
And regarding that 'yet'...
@christinewas I thought Christine was a 1958 Plymouth Fury with an attitude?
I'm a MoPar guy so maybe I'll use that as a mnemonic...
Congrats on the goathood @christinewas - our first legacy goat! It's your fault my back hurts today.
@dave
@Thumperchick Yes, yes. I accept blame for the miracle of life that is likely causing this pain.
Now we all find out if @joelmw raised his kid to be a good goat.
Happy Birthday, @dave! You're still so young, better have a grown-up help with those candles!
Yay, @christinewas! Get ready to be the center of attention!
Heehee
@KDemo Uh... center of attention? Shoot. Well, you can't see me if I can't see you, right?
No goat here. Just go about your day.
@christinewas
We can see through your obfuscations.
@christinewas Hitchhiker's Guide reference? If so, Bravo on your elevation to ravenous beast. If not, well, Meh.
Happy birthday, @dave, who I'm picturing is wearing this woot shirt ...
(Are we ever going to get a second round of 'name that shirt' from you?)
@dave
Well, it appears there is nothing I can do but accept blame for the fact that you are clearly an overachiever. Goat transition on a Sunday? What??
I also accept responsibility for that extra hour of sleep you had a chance to get last night. I hate the time change, but it is my burden to bear.
I guess I will also shoulder the blame for the fact that you have lived to enjoy another year of this beautiful thing we call life. Happy birthday!
If my FF team loses to @capguncowboy's team, the Talentless Shitbags, I totally blame @christinewas!
@Teripie Come on, Cuttlefish! Don't let those Talentless Shitbags outscore you!
@dave - Enjoy some . . .
@Pavlov but they look so real?
congrats, 2nd generation goat.
@dave
It's a
Happy birthday @dave!
@christinewas Congratulations! I can not think of a more deserving person to deserve blame than you. Enjoy your month, Thanksgiving Goat :)
@mfladd Uhh... thanks?
@Dave
Hippo Birdie 2 Ewe!
@Shrdlu
(I hope I'm not missing that this image is already here, because that happens. But usually I can still see a placeholder.)
@joelmw - I once rec'd that on a mug as a birthday gift.
@joelmw Nope, no image. I'd found a you tube that was funny, or appeared to be, until I put it in as a link. Ugh. UGH UGH UGH!!! It was some horrid thing about how to construct something or other that happened to have the words above, and sung to the tune of happy birthday...badly. I deleted it, and just left the words.
I've received variations of that card over the years (people know that my level of humor approximates that of a six-year old). It always makes me laugh. Every time.
@dave
@cinoclav Worst birthday bj....ever.
@dave I take it I wasn't getting the 1st day of this month back... I'll remember this......
@sohmageek I blame @Christinewas for this shenanigans... and vote that she cheers on the Pats this weekend to make up for it! ;)
@sohmageek No goat in the history of the ever has deserved to have that burden put upon them.
Except for you know who.
@jaremelz And you know who voluntarily took that burden upon himself. It was possibly the first step he took in embracing evil.
@christinewas @jaremelz ?
@christinewas And now look where it's gotten him. Some never learn.
@jaremelz @Christinewas
@sohmageek I'm not even sure what I'm being blamed for, but I accept whatever blame must be taken. However, I assure you that I am wholeheartedly committed to my hatred of the Pats and will always wish failure upon them. Scapegoats receive blame. They do not "make up for" or "compensate" a person for their sources of guilt. If I do anything that resembles "compensation", you can expect that it will be an act of vengeance for something unforgiveable, like a demand that I align myself with evil. Just... things to consider the next time you're thinking about the Patriots. Guilt like that can't be transferred.
@jaremelz @christinewas
@christinewas I blame you for the envy of non-Patriots fans everywhere whose misplaced jealousy causes them to cling to spurious accusations from corrupt league officials and hate on my team to make them feel better about their team's poor performance. :P
@jbartus Quick, what do you call these...
I would accuse you of being @mfladd in disguise, but you've used too many big words. :)~
@jbartus I accept blame for this classic "They hate us 'cause they aint us" complaint and will take it a step further by accepting unspoken blame for your poor choice in teams. Many people don't recognize evil when they see it.
@jbartus They haters are strong here. I usually take the brunt of their envious hate. I enjoy it. Glad someone else stepped up for the Pat's. Well done - come around more often.
@jaremelz I don't need big words to say Fuck You, or "futue te ipsi".
@mfladd Eh, I'd do a better job of it anyway.
@jaremelz You leave my jimmies out of this! Don't make me dump a proper frappe on you, none of this silly coffee stuff
@mfladd I don't mind the hate of us winning so much, that's to be expected, jealousy is part of human nature, and there's precedent with other winning teams throughout history. What gets me is how people can so blindly believe anything Roger Goodell has to say.
How does the idea of a system where the individual who handed out the punishment in the first place arbitrates a dispute of that punishment not ring alarm bells everywhere? Especially when that individual works for and is the head of one of the parties involved in the dispute, and whose party directly benefits by building public perception of taking a hard line on offenses after the travesties of justice in recent history! People baffle me, they really do.
I can only conclude that it's more probable than not that they are blinded by their angst and jealousy.
@jbartus Preaching to the choir. Didn't you know that Goodell and the NFL allow the Patriots to get away with everything. When are people going to realize Goodell is not Team Brady, except for the revenue money that Brady and the Patriots bring in on Prime Time and merchandising?
p.s. arbitration system was agreed to by the players association. A grievous error on their part. I hope they have learned their lesson on this one. At least Goodell did with a federal judge.
@jbartus We've been over this before, these
Are jimmies. Those little confections you sprinkle on desserts are sprinkles. But it's ok, I understand that all your frappe have made your brain freeze up.
As far as the Pats go, it is ludicrous to attempt to deny their playing ability. However, the talent is eclipsed by the blind arrogance of their legion of Patsys.
@mfladd Wait, are you suggesting that all of it is about anything OTHER than money? What a laugh. But of course, anything that attempts to poke holes in your precious team's facade must be some kind of conspiracy or attempt to undermine their "greatness".
Eyw
@jaremelz Ha! I saw plenty of the arrogant seahawk fans in force last year. Until this.....
p.s. LOVE the Frappe reference. Have you been googling? And you are right. Frappe's are made with ice cream, Milkshakes without.
Good, Good...
Let the Jimmies rustle through you!
Btw, @jbartus, I can tell you first hand the haters (redcoats) don't like that their are two of us that will hold the line :)
They would rather burn the Patriot church with us inside of it.
.
@mfladd Speaking of things everyone knows, the refs always give Dallas a break in Dallas, especially when division rivals are in town.
@mfladd Oh yes, because no one outside of NE has heard of a frappe. And I don't want to even get close enough to the church to burn it down. I'll settle for just.one.man.
@dashcloud are you implying that that different referee teams (since they all do games all over the country) are giving certain teams preferred calls? If this is the case I would like to know which teams in the nfl are given this status? Pats? Cowboys? Broncos? Seahawks? I ask because you are implying that the NFL and their officiating teams are cheats. And why are those teams given preferred call status?
@mfladd You're right- that was a bit harsh thinking all the refs are bad. Good thing we have @christinewas to take the blame for every perceived bad call!
@mfladd Yeah but it was a bad deal they accepted in the interest of expediency knowing it needed to be renegotiated later.
Regarding frappes, I brought them up first by threatening to dump one on @jaremelz
@jaremelz I refuse to be oppressed by your odd terminology for ice cream toppings. Sprinkle is a verb and is what rain does occasionally, or what one does with seasonings when cooking. Jimmies are candy deliciousness spread atop ice cream, I can only infer that the 'sprinkles' crowd confused jimmies with a seasoning like salt or pepper.
@dashcloud agreed. I am not letting the NFL off on this either. They can't have it both ways. But you are correct that @christinewas is to blame for all the wows of the NFL. Thank God for the goat. And she has been a good goat.
@jbartus Please, I've had far worse thrown my way by the little bitch, oh I mean @mfladd. And yes, you are correct in calling the term used by the entire rest of the country,"odd". Pats and jimmies, two things that apparently you must hail from New England to appreciate. Poor mislead, delusional east coast.
Oh, and @mfladd. ..
fututus et mori in igni
@jaremelz Self-immolation or are you building a pyre?
@jaremelz "fuck off and die in fire" is just mean.
“Podex perfectus es”
@Pavlov The @mfladd this evening will be served burnt to a crisp. Apologies from the chef.
@mfladd Were you expecting me too play nice? Pfft.
Flocci non faccio
@jaremelz @mfladd
Did I inadvertently stumble into the middle of a bitter rivalry or something? O_o
@jaremelz
Stercus accidit.
@jbartus Oh, it's ok, he likes it like this.
@jbartus Don't let @jaremelz or anyone else try to bully you here. She is a sheep in wolf's clothing. Some people here are just not use to more than one person standing up for the Patriots. She is actually a little scared. Especially, since she doesn't have her usual posse to back her up. There are a few fans here but many don't like the fire that comes with it. I appreciate you being here.
(p.s. it is all good natured fun, but can be brutal)
@jaremelz Great. Why don't you just drive off a few more people from this site. How is meh suppose to prosper with your antics?
“Tace atque abi”
@mfladd Don't play like you're so innocent, no one around here is buying it!
Poor @jbartus just didn't know what he was getting into when he agreed with you on something, cunne.
@jaremelz I must object to your lumping all on the east coast into BB (Brady Bitches) category. Many of us are quite normal and like teams named Bills or Steelers and such, and find NE quite lame. We even have sprinkles. And we don't talk with funny accents.
@ceagee I will attempt to reserve my hate for those pesky New England folk. But it's not my fault, you know who starts it.
@ceagee guess part of the posse finally showed up.
@jbartus meet a disgruntled Bills fan/ or Steelers - she can't decide, who has her jimmies rustled every time her team loses to the Pat's.
@jaremelz I take exception to your inappropriate and derogatory Latin.
“Caput tuum in ano est”
@mfladd I am not undecided. I was speaking for the masses of non BB. I know who I am a fan of ( in very loose terms, because it's all football and that's not my fav. sport ) .
And when the Bills lose to the Pats, they don't whine. Not like BB who whine just because they can win or lose. They make strategy for next time. Cause they have been on top and the Pats have sucked. They know their turn will come around again and they will still be a class act and the Pats will still be panty waisted mama's boys who eat sprinkles on their cones and don't even know what they are called !!
:P
@ceagee The next time? Reality check.
How long does it take?
@mfladd Like fine wine, the Bills take time and patience. Unlike cheap beer NE, which might be ok for a couple years and then sours.
@ceagee You mean since 2001? Seeing that they have been dominant since then I would put them more in the category of a 15 year aged Scotch Whiskey. Smoooth. ;)
@mfladd tbh : Whisky of any kind makes me heave.
@dashcloud, I fully accept my blame for all of the bad calls.
@mfladd, I accept responsibility for all of those NFL "wows". (I don't think you meant to be that nice.)
@Christinewas i blame you for the pipe leaking in the wall behind our kitchen sink. thus causing me to pay $500 to get it fixed. i think you at least owe me a couple airline size bottles of vodka.
@carl669 I owe you the removal of any guilt (what did you do to those pipes?) and the cathartic release of someone to blame. As for the vodka, you're on your own. I am too weighed down by guilt to make deliveries.
This is a little awkward,
but I can't help objectively noticing how awesomely @christinewas is doing.
I don't mean to belabor the point, but, yaknow, just for instance, a lot of what she's being blamed for is actually good. And, even when a hiccup occurs, her responses are characteristically thoughtful and on-point.
Way to go kid.
You guys are lucky.
But it is November, and fitting that you'd have a goat worthy of your gratitude.
@joelmw Aww. Thanks. Just doing my best to make you proud of your kid.
@thismyusername
Yeah, not our favorite, but one of her first.
Did you see the goat carnage on a certain very popular cable TV show?
@thismyusername Clear
@jaremelz @dashcloud On Leftovers this week (S2 E5), goats acted as agents of karma and were of course blamed for things not really their fault. A @matthew figured prominently, as did a father and his only child. Coincidence?
There were two shots of goats fleeing the scene. I've captured one. The rest was dark, blurry and indistinct goat-wise.
@joelmw It's difficult to see, but those goats laying down are just napping, right? I mean, nothing bad would happen to current and/or retired goats.
Right?
@jaremelz Hey, look over there! It's a cute puppy!
@joelmw
I blame @christinewas for being the goat without me ever seeing the nomination thread. Good choice though.
@readnj - It was never even close: https://meh.com/forum/topics/november-goat-voting
@readnj I accept this blame for your failure to pay attention.
@christinewas I know I should be blaming you, but instead I find myself thanking you for losing to me this week in FESUSGL FFL
@mfladd 116 @christinewas 81.5
Good Goat - Keep It Up!
@mfladd
@mfladd You picked the Pats this week didn't you? ;)
@sohmageek Do you ever really see a time existing when we wouldn't?
@mfladd With my bye weeks and the 51.5-pt head-start you got from your Pats, I expected a wider margin. Since I cannot accept thanks for this tragedy, I will instead blame myself for your failure to pull off a more dramatic win. Welcome to mediocrity. You had to climb a bit, but you made it up to the middle.
@christinewas All you had to say was "you're welcome". Nevermind, I forgot verbosity was one of the things that got you into this goat predicament ;)
@mfladd Except... you aren't welcome.
I blame you @Christinewas for us not having a baby sitter... Maybe the pats can win again and I can get a coffee and not worry about it as much!
@sohmageek all you have to do is drive to NY and leave your child with someone you know from the internet.
@sohmageek Guilt for one parenting mishap: Gone!
@Thumperchick So is this invitation open to the rest of Meh? A holiday trip to NY could be quite nice this year.
@dashcloud
(I love you guys, but the idea of inviting everyone at once is... full of nope.)
@Thumperchick Nursery tours!
I would blame @christinewas for the car accident I was in on Friday but she's way too awesome for that. Can I blame you for the insurance company taking their sweet damn time, though?
@stardate820926 You should have tried the magic jingle.
"Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there."
@mfladd
@stardate820926 I'd almost rather be blamed for the accident than for anything related to insurance. That said, I am officially taking responsibility for both.
It's 4-ish am here; why am I awake, @christinewas?
@narfcake If you're still awake, it has something to do with venturing into new realms of awesomeness. If you're already awake, it has something to do with the universe hating you. Either way, it's my fault. Sorry about that!
@christinewas Already. :(
I'll go cry into a catshirt now ... or maybe @acraigl's fig shirt because he won't do a catshirt ...
@narfcake That's rough. Sorry for your woes... and the fact that your tears have to settle for a fig shirt. If my role as goat enabled me to fix the transgressions that cause my guilt, you'd have an @acraigl catshirt very soon.
@narfcake I blame @christinewas for not affording me the inspiration for quality catshirt. And also the next goat. Oh, and the one before as well.
@ACraigL What if you're the next goat? :)
@narfcake I'm pretty sure it will still be the case.
@ACraigL I accept my portion of the blame.
I've been trying to get my friend to come give you inspiration, but it doesn't look like he is willing to move.
I blame @christinewas for the slowness on the forums right now... But maybe @dave or @hollball can help out, with the resolution?
@sohmageek It's cool. Just keep blaming me when the forum is slow. No biggie. I'm getting by just fine. No burden is too great for me. I can take it.
Sigh... my fault.
@christinewas are those handles??? really they have installed handles on you now ;)
I can't bring myself to blame @christinewas for anything . . . she's much too cute and very good-natured (good genes I suppose) and my hatred for the Broncos (second only to the Pats) would spill over, and I might not play nice.
@Pavlov Uh-oh. I appreciate your restraint.
Since I don't have any blame to take here, I'll just keep playing, if that's cool.
@christinewas What the heck are you doing up so early? Are you lost?
Ahh, I bet she was sleep writing.
@Pavlov go pats! Win me some Dunkin!!!
@sohmageek
@Barney Late. I was a up late.
@christinewas So . . . um . . . who gets the blame for Peyton Manning throwing four interceptions and being benched for the first time in a Broncos uniform.
Yeah, that'd be you.
And it feels so good.
@Pavlov
