@yakkoTDI So your
[noun: drive; plural noun: drives] trip or journey in a car
was fine, but your determination and ambition to achieve something was not.
See above. But I did get stuck in terrible traffic on the NY State Thruway that prolonged a trip by over an hour. Ugh. I like driving, but not being stuck in traffic.
@mycya4me Well, this was a weekend away trip with no reasonable mass transit alternative. The drive is about 3 hours or less normally. There is no direct mass transit and it would take about, I think, 7 hours if I did it, with no car at the end to get to the destination. While I believe in mass transit, sometimes it does not work.
I just now (8:41am) opened the email from meh.com sent at 7:56 AM (44 minutes ago). I guess I should just go to meh.com at midnight and not wait for the gloriously funny emails?
There is no good reason to get there at midnight unless there is an Irk or something else likely to sell out. Having said that, I’ll admit to usually being there at midnight. The other reason is to have the first comment, which happened to me today for the first time.
I’m retired. And many people don’t work on Sundays.
@andyw My immediate thought was also “Are they assuming we all work on Sunday?”
Then I realized that this is officially for Monday, and most of us just jump on early (i.e. the night before).
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My usual commute now-a-days is approximately 15 steps to my home office. Some times a few more depending on cat road blocks. I love working from home.
The drive was ok. It is the working part I don’t like.

@andyw then either use Mass transit or move somewhere else without a Major rush hour.

Probably should have saved this question for during the week.
@heartny very odd timing for the Meh-ditors.
Possibly they are nervous about dropping a $5 IRK any minute now (prob not).
@heartny Well, it’s officially a Monday post; you just read it early.
This was Sunday most don’t work on Sunday.
@mycya4me I got the daily email today, which is Monday.
…work?
Don’t work.

I work from home, but the trip down the stairs was slow and painful because of my knee.
No commute. I’m unemployed. Anybody need a technical project manager?
If I have to drive to work, it’s generally a distance of 1200-1500 miles. I’m too old for that shit anymore, even though I can still actually do it.
I work remote but I’m on a road trip and working on the road.
It’s a pretty short walk to my desk for remote work.
