I came late to the Mehrathon, so I was scrolling back through the deals to see what I had missed, and I was surprised by how similarly themed a lot of the offerings where. I’m not complaining, I just found it odd.
Meh, inherent to its design, makes substantially less money than MorningSave—a site advertised on daytime television and engineered to appeal to the middle-aged female demographic those shows attract. Mehrathons happen monthly now most likely because they need to clear out their warehouses of the things even the wine moms watching The Talk can’t be convinced to buy. that’s going to lead to the Meh-priced clearance of a lot of things a Mercatalyst buyer thought 40-year-old women would like, which tends to look like a Bed Bath & Beyond reject bin.
@TheMeerkat The logic makes sense. I would also say that anything they are getting a deal on is going to be the items that BB&B would be selling, the odd house stuff or the slightly too expensive normal things as there is really no place for those goods in the current economy.
@TheMeerkat good thinking. Maybe Sidedeal can tie in with sports, car, outdoors, and science channels and there can be a buyer targeting middle aged men too. Then Meh wins more for me!
@ThunderChicken
And one of the Goat Emeritii here did a Tool-of-The-Day during their goatdom. Maybe Spring last year?
And tool deals pop up in the monthly deal thread

If Morningsave is for 40 year old women, then how about selling products on Meh for 40 year old men?
@JT954 Like powered cordless corkscrews, bluetooth speakers, pearl necklaces, and fidget spinners don’t?
@JT954 Meet Sidedeal.com
@JT954 happy late birthday. See my plan to enact this just above your post, have you got any contacts at cable networks?
@mike808 When did they have powered cordless corkscrews? You just created in me a need for something I never knew existed.

@JT954 @sammydog01 for 40 year old men who like their deals like they like their chicks. On the side.
@mike808 You may have just changed my life. (Whether for the good or not is debatable.)

Well then, where the hell is the seemingly endless stream of coupons?
