From a female perspective I would be a #7. I was overdue for a cut and highlight before this all started. Now I just have so much hair. No beard or mustache before you ask Phuf!!!
@mike808@tinamarie1974 Mine is pretty long too. It desperately needs cut. Of course it has been around 8 or 9 months since it has been cut so can’t blame that all on covid-19.
@Kidsandliz@mike808 same here. My last was in December. Because of the style I can go several months without one, but I am on the edge of acceptable at this point.
Just been too busy work and personal wise to make it in to to the salon. Oh well, it doesn’t matter since no one can see me anyway and if I do go out a pony tail hides it all!!
@mike808@tinamarie1974 Solons shut here. That is one advantage of hair when it gets long enough (like yours apparently is and mine), you can always tie it back. May not be what we’d otherwise choose, but it least it doesn’t look like an out of control mop (although it may look like an out of control mop we just tied back).
@ybmuG
In my family, it never left. Although on our second unit, my brothers and I have been sharing one for over 25 years. Actually just used it tonight!
I’ll be at 7 in about a month. I really really need to learn how to cut my own hair. I have an unused Wahl and a portable mirror. I’m afraid of doing 2 on #2 setting.
@JT954@stolicat aawwww poor thing! I once tried to die my hair to save a few $$$. I was trying to deepen my brown hair a bit. Not sure what I did wrong but it came out black, black, black. My co workers started calling me Elvira.
The outcome was me going to the salon to get it fixed and spending 2x as much money.
@RiotDemon@stolicat@tinamarie1974 Finally went ahead and tried to cut my hair [after seeing lots of videos on what to do]. I did a #4 (1/2 inch) all over and I think I did okay. There’s a shorter patch near the back of my head where a cowlick is and the neckline isn’t the worst. It was scary at first but I think I’ll get better while I figure out the grips between a secondary mirror and the razor.
When I trim my beard with the electric clippers I also clean up over my ears and sides. But soon I’m either going to have to resign myself to an involuntary mullet (#3) or trust my wife to clean up the back.
I don’t have much hair left, so I usually keep it buzzed pretty tight.
I normally have a barber do it, could easily do it myself at home, but I’m going to let it grow until this is over.
Unfortunately, this is what I will look like:

He’s lucky enough to be able to grow some very cool facial hair-styles.
I only have enough facial hair to be able to look like a scrotum with a face.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@DennisG2014 That’s pretty much me too. A little less salt in the pepper, and a more pronounced unicorn (aka “full frontal ponytail”) effect where the receding hairline has circled around the back of “Hair Island”.
@DennisG2014@Limewater@mike808 There is someone in my building whose hair pattern is similar. At one point he had grown the front top bit of hair long, filled it up with beads with things like skulls on them and dipped the end of it in some plasticy stuff to, I presume, keep the beads on the strand. I suppose it would be useful as some sort of weapon if you needed one, but it is one of the stranger things I have seen. He had a pony tail in the back but that was more ordinary looking.
@Limewater@mike808 It’s been at least 10 maybe 15 years since my ‘hair island’ was that thick.
These days I could probably count the remaining hair follicles there in a reasonably short amount of time, without losing count or my mind.
It’s actually pretty remarkable how much I’m coming to resemble that picture of Steven Ogg. My hair’s still a few inches shorter than that and my ‘peak’ is probably about 10% thinner than his, but if I posted a pic of myself right now (which I won’t do, sorry/not sorry) you’d be amazed at the likeness.
Didn’t even realize when I first made that prediction how accurate it would turn out to be.
I don’t know if I’ll make it past the first 90 degree day without buzzing it all off, but I’m kind of hoping to match the Ogg pic first.
I’m currently closest to 7 (my beard is not that long yet), but everyday consider 1.
My haircut day is past.
So @mike808 which category would you fall into?
@tinamarie1974
#6, please. Just a little off the top.

@JT954 can you have someone help you?
@tinamarie1974 No, I’d rather do it on my own.
@JT954 well good luck when you try!!
@JT954 @tinamarie1974 I tried it on my own once - screwed up so badly in the days to follow people were asking me how the chemo treatments were going …

@f00l Does this mean we’re all going to get nekkid?
@therealjrn
You are telling me that you’re not a full time nudist and sun-worshiper?
Oh no!

@therealjrn
Hey, /giphy!
You had better chill for a bit. You’re getting overwrought.
@f00l True story: I was invited to a local nudist club a few years ago…I chickened out and have regerted it ever since.
Maybe someday, I need to work on my abs first. My center of gravity floats somewhere a couple of feet in front of me.
@therealjrn
Most of us don’t have our 21-year-old bods anymore.
Sigh.
