I know the answer is probably China but can someone post the country of manufacture please?
It’s not that I’m anti-China I’m pro some other country that somehow makes great ‘stone’ cook ware. If these are from that country - i’m in, maybe for 2 for gifts. The couple i picked up at Marshal’s for cheap are amazing.
Some marketer got drunk and came up with the slogan “Granite Tuff”, and a poor sober engineer had to actually put granite on cheap aluminum cookware to keep his job. Capitalism is so great!!
This got a top tier description-story, well done that writer. Really great satire of all x-piece kitchenware that’s always ~half as many actual things as it says.
@ravenblack After reading your comment, I had to go and read through the descriptor text, and, since I am not upset with you for having caused me to read it, I must conclude that I enjoyed it. Well done.
@uebergod Found on Google:
Is PFOA free cookware safe?
,Teflon has been PFOA-free since 2013. Today’s nonstick and Teflon cookware is completely safe for normal home cooking, as long as temperatures do not exceed 570°F (300°C). … At the end of the day, Teflon cookware is a healthy and convenient way to cook your food that is safe for everyday use.Jul 13, 2017
But that is what they said about the old shit, right?
This copy makes me so happy calling out those practices. I was shopping for socks recently, found a set online a liked, then noticed I’d been comparing 12 “packs” to 12 “pairs” without noticing which is which so now I have to start over.
Just got a similar 10" pan (no lid) from Mrs. News for my birthday. It’s a very nice $20 pan, works ok, not great (or ergonomic). Don’t need more than one, and certainly no dumb glass lids. Gosh, now I’m looking at Le Creuset stuff again…

I tried to keep a lid on it, but this deal has gone completely to pot…he said deadpan. Granite, it’s late and I’m tired.
@wonidejack almost perfect punnery

@hchavers It’s induction compatible, so maybe steel, not aluminum.
@hchavers @narfcake From the Amazon description:
“Pressed aluminum inner layer for high heat conductivity and for even surface heating (perfect for searing steaks!).”
Note that this does not explain how you can get the grill marks on your steak as depicted in the eighth picture here.
@rpstrong Probably the same way any product here gets a makeover.

Yawn. The only thing that sticks to these pans is inventory carrying costs.
Meh, I like you. But can you take a break from cooking and cleaning products?

@Kyser_Soze @uebergod Pretty sure these guys have no idea what they’re talking about:

When I read “Pieces” and then 8 pieces I thought of this…
Is this set compatible with an induction cook-top?
@stp At the very top, the specs say:
PTFA? Anyone know about that? I can’t have PTFE though, and there is no mention of it (so I have to assume it’s present).
@BerMM I presume a typo … and if a manufacturer took that much care in it’s specs, imagine how good the product is!

I know that these pots are called Granite Tuff and “tuff” is supposed to only sound like “tough”, but my pans all came bent and misshapen.
@misobrilliant Tuff luck.
