Free lunch (for someone else)
5I have been going to this site (thehungersite.com) for over a decade. When I joined Meh I found my daily routine became “go to meh first so you can think about it before it sells out, then go to The Hunger Site.”
Yesterday some one posted a nice link to donating for school kids. It made me realize if even half the meh community went to the hunger site (and it’s other 8 related sites such as austism research and veterans support) daily, that would make a difference!
Not sure?:
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/the-hunger-site/ (relatively positive but older review)
http://seriousgivers.org/quick-digging-about-greatergood-com/ (relatively negative review. Personally, I know when the site was first created in 1999, its creator made knowing what your click did very easy, whereas the new administrators TheGreaterGood/CharityUSA, who admit they use this as a portal to sell stuff (once you click donate you are hit with ads), do not.)

The autism one gives to Autism Speaks, which is not great at listening to verbal autistic adults. They’re also pro-applied behavioral therapy, which many with autism find really problematic.
If you’d like to give to an autism-related charity, the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network is a good alternative.
I’m not going to go into vetting the other sites/The Greater Good as a whole, but neurodiversity-related topics are near and dear to my heart so I thought I’d at least speak up on that much.
