@connorbush If I do the Irk thing and break that up into words with spaces, I get lama we so me. Due to fonts, it is hard to tell if that first letter is an I or l.
@Pavlov thank you, Pavlov!! i just don’t understand why? what i’m doing, posting things, isn’t working right??? maybe if you have time, you can teach me the right way…
@mick I believe that you went to giphy.com to source the image you attempted to post and copied text from somewhere on said site which included [img] [/img] tags around the url to the image advertised as the correct code for a forum. This is the standard BBCode means of posting an image and is useful for most major forum softwares, none of which Meh uses.
In short, to give you an answer without pointing you to another thread, if you just post the link to the image file itself, without the [img][/img] around it, you’ll be in good shape. The software here automatically detects that a link to an image file has been posted and converts it from a link to an actual image.
The stuff directed to shawn is a suggestion that I am directing to one of the meh staffers.
@jbartus what do you think about as a first step converting BBCode to Markdown and then rendering Markdown to HTML? If you submitted a pull request to Mehdown with that added functionality and it passed the current test suite I think we could call that Mehdown 2.1.
@shawn that’s basically what I was suggesting, something to make copypastaing a little more friendly for less technical members. I think Mehdown covers most if not all of the important bases editor-wise but having it convert the basics like [url] and [img] would go a long way towards reducing confusion I think, and based on your link you agreed. Hooray for contributing something!
@mick thank you all! for your kind teaching. even though some of it , i’m not smart enough to understand. lol alright, here goes… let’s see if i have learned anything…
Also, thank you, your plight led to my thoughts that led to my suggestion that led to @shawn implementing the awesome new BBCode interpreter, so image posting will be even easier from now on!

How awesome can he be? He took a picture to show how awesome he is in a public restroom.
Totally mediocre site
I don’t really get it, what’s awesome about Dorian?
@jbartus now I’m really confused, @Thumperchick edited out the original link so… now I’m staring at that site wondering what the gag is.
Or was this deemed to be advertising or something because donation button?
I am confused.
WTF? And they want donations too. For what? Who knows.
Help this man show the world how awesome he is… what??? damn, this squirrel, makes more sense…

@Pavlov to be fair, he probably did copy the 'for forum use code from giphy.
@shawn Mehdown 3.0 might benefit from recognition of the most common BBCode tags for UX and ease of use purposes. Just an idea.
@Pavlov thank you, Pavlov!! i just don’t understand why? what i’m doing, posting things, isn’t working right??? maybe if you have time, you can teach me the right way…
@jbartus i didn’t understand, one bit of this!! lol anyways, cut me some slack, i’m an old lady doing my best , trying to keep up with the times!!!

Somehow the link to the image you input had extraneous characters on the end.

@mick If you use imgur you copy the BB code to post on Woot. Copy the “direct link” instead for Meh. From one old lady to another. Easy peasy.
Mehdown 2.1 now supports a subset of BBCode: https://meh.com/forum/topics/mehdown-2-0#57488a922568bdb009233d41

@sammydog01 of course, i understood, you the most!!! lol
@jbartus yeah, maybe too easy!!! lol
@mick hey, don’t sweat it, it can be confusing with all of the myriad different links image sites give people now
Hmm, I’m glad I went to bed early.
Is it wrong that I want to tag the thread creator to ask them what they think of spam man?
This thread was done as a joke… but thank you all for your interesting (and for some of you, entertaining) feedback.
