@AttyVette Nah. Not enough juice in this deal for even a spark of interest. Shocking, isn’t it? I’m pretty set on not going to the mat on this one, Meh. You can bank on that.
@herbertjgray Do you have this exact model? The Note 5 is Qi compatible. I have the Note 5 and use a Qi charger and it works great; however, the powermat is not Qi compatible. This is what it says in the specs, “PMA compatible (not compatible with Qi)”
@cengland0 Bought the optional Charging Back for my Note 4 and the Samsung charging pad. Put the Note in a thick case. Bought this to use at work. It works fine, if a little position sensitive. The Samsung charger can be picky that way too.
@cengland0 yes, I have the same model. I saw that it listed that it was not QI compatible. I got one of these the last time it was offered. When I recieved the batteries and pad, I started playing with it. I figured I would try my Note5 on the pad and it worked. Athough you have to position the phone correcrly on the pad, at first sight it appeared that it would not work, but I just moved the phone into different positions on the pad and found the sweet spot. The pad does charge my Samsung Note5. I use it evey night
But really, meh. I bought this a couple months ago, and the small battery pack only charges my phone about halfway. The big one’s decent, but since the pad doesn’t charge most phones, it’s not really worth it.
The sad thing is I think meh only bought 10 of these, but this is the eleventh time they’ve tried to sell them. Meh is far too mild for this deal. Bleh.
I’ve bought these twice before, and again tonight. Don’t think I’ve plugged a phone into them once. But add a DC-DC boost converter and they helped me test and build a time machine so I think I’ve made a good decision.
Charges my Galaxy S6 very well, but the power packs are mostly junk. The small one broke almost immediately (button jammed down, then came off and now refuses to charge) and the large one only brings my phone to full once.
I bought too many. One thing for it not to charge my iPhone very much but when I give them as gifts and they don’t… I about to be sorry I visit this site. I’ve been Mehed
I have two sets of these. I have other charges too but I always forget to plug them in. Yes the small one is practically useless. But the big ones are fine and always charged and ready to go thanks to the mat. I have iPhone 6s+'s so wireless charging the device isn’t really important too me. I just like having a power pack ready to go. Not. Buying any more of these though but if I sound like you, pull the trigger the wireless charging is pretty nice.
@chacham It’s pretty simple, really. They provide a 5v charge that you can power a Raspberry Pi from. The more mAh you use, the better. If you are running headless (no monitor) and have wifi you can put the Pi anywhere and log in via SSH or VNC from a laptop or other computer to get rid of a nest of cables. Or get one of many types of small LCD screens that you can connect and power right from the Pi but of course the battery will deplete faster. My goal is eventually get a 7" or 10" HDMI field monitor (used for digital film and video) that can be powered from a standard 12v camera battery pack and that plus a battery pack like these will make the whole setup portable and usable for several hours. In case I want to go out into the woods for a few hours to do some Python scripting. Or just sit in my living room without having to be tethered to a wall outlet.
I bought these last time they came around. Solid batteries doing good work. Highly recommend (despite the fact that they can [with charging accessories as appropriate] charge the s3, s4, s6, s7 but NOT my s5…)
This is the price of a charging cable—and it includes a charging cable. As it happens, I needed a charging cable, so the rest is gravy (for my rapid-crummy-meal).
I’m not the only one getting a SWTW in place of the item description on this thread, right? What’s fun is that you can click around a bit and end up with something Shakespeare could only dream of: a meh within a meh.
I just wanna say, FWIW. I ordered this (both batteries with the mat) for a trip I took June 26. By some crazy miracle of meh, the package arrived on June 25. That was amaze-balls awesome, meh. Not mediocre at all. How did you know even?
So then I had a total of four backup batteries that I could use throughout what were generally days with 12-18 hours away from the hotel room with two devices (an iPhone and an iPad) that I was using heavily. On days when I could make a quick stop back at the room, I could even leave one or two batteries charging while I used the others.
Because I had an additional, in-my-hands charging mat, I took it with me. Idunno, it’s just cooler charging on the mat.
FWIW, I also used the holy living fuck out of these other meh purchases:
Jam Splash Shower Speaker Like, seriously, I love this thing. And it makes a place feel like home when I can have my music/radio/podcasts with me everywhere in my room, including the bathroom and shower. Big-ass backpack
Obviously my Bubbas–one with iced coffee for when I started to drag (each day started at Starbucks and I’d always leave with a refill) and one with ice water. As I’ve mentioned before, these fit nicely in the big-ass backpack. Various NY cases and shit, that are just part of my daily accessory set. Trimmer Goddamnit, for the price. A good beard trim is especially important when you’re not shaving every day. These tiny USB chargers. Yep, batteries
I actually took other meh-acquired stuff, but didn’t use the fuck out of it, so I’d feel dishonest including it in the above list.
I’m not a shill, I swear. I’m just a cheap bastard and maybe easily impressed.

Watts up? Powering through this deal tonight – still going and going and going
@AttyVette Nah. Not enough juice in this deal for even a spark of interest. Shocking, isn’t it? I’m pretty set on not going to the mat on this one, Meh. You can bank on that.
@mike808 @AttyVette
Hey, no charge just for asking.
@mike808 @AttyVette
Was meditating when this deal popped up. Ohm, ohm.
@AttyVette
These puns are all Luke Cage approved.
@MehnofLaMehncha Any relation to Faraday Cage?
If only it was Qi compatible. Deal breaker.
@cengland0 the Pad changes my QI compatible Samsung Note5, just have to positiln it correctly on the pad
@herbertjgray Do you have this exact model? The Note 5 is Qi compatible. I have the Note 5 and use a Qi charger and it works great; however, the powermat is not Qi compatible. This is what it says in the specs, “PMA compatible (not compatible with Qi)”

@herbertjgray Because the Note5 (and S6) support both Qi and PMA. They have the circuitry for both wireless charging standards.
Something went terribly wrong.
Something’s gone terribly wrong.
But really, meh. I bought this a couple months ago, and the small battery pack only charges my phone about halfway. The big one’s decent, but since the pad doesn’t charge most phones, it’s not really worth it.
Again???
Something went terribly wrong with the /buy command. I tried. Regular process worked fine.
If this was a car jump starting capable unit I would be all over it. Meh
The sad thing is I think meh only bought 10 of these, but this is the eleventh time they’ve tried to sell them. Meh is far too mild for this deal. Bleh.
The Pad charges my Samsung Note5 splendidly. I use every night to charge my Note5
@herbertjgray Does this fast charge?
Tell you what…sell me the powermat at $6 and I might consider it. Do not need any more power packs…
I’ve bought these twice before, and again tonight. Don’t think I’ve plugged a phone into them once. But add a DC-DC boost converter and they helped me test and build a time machine so I think I’ve made a good decision.
Won’t charge an iPhone 6? Useless to me.
@Spyder63 it doesn’t charge the iphone 6 for real??
@Spyder63 it charges my 6s and my wife’s 5s. I don’t know why it wouldn’t work on a 6. The smaller battery has a built in Lightning plug.
Charges my Galaxy S6 very well, but the power packs are mostly junk. The small one broke almost immediately (button jammed down, then came off and now refuses to charge) and the large one only brings my phone to full once.
But the charging pad is pretty sweet:)

Good job @mediocrebot!
Slow night, huh?
@mediocrebot lol
@Barney Good job @Barney
Your encouragement is quite encouraging.
@chacham Thank you. You have encouraged me to continue my encouragements.
@Barney
/giphy that’s quite encouraging!
I find that the small battery is good to stick in your pocket on days when you don’t expect to need a charger.
@benf_dc Is that a small battery in your pocket, or are you just not that happy to see us?
@sligett Why can’t it be both?
Will this work with the galaxy s7?
@rapiollymega My approach is to try it and see. I’ll let you know.
@rapiollymega yes
@rapiollymega Yes, this deal is the first I bought on Meh and it charges our household’s S7s w/o any problems.
Yes, 1850 mAh is scrawny, but 8,800 mAh ain’t brawny. Or burly.
so far I’ve been mostly using the little dingus cause burly one is a bit more boxy
lengthy-exemplary-stingray say you guys bitch too much.
I bought too many. One thing for it not to charge my iPhone very much but when I give them as gifts and they don’t… I about to be sorry I visit this site. I’ve been Mehed

I have lots of power packs so to speak, these are a tad on the weak side.
I love these. I like to use power packs like these to power Raspberry Pis and make them semi portable.
@shadowzen Whoa! You may have just sold me on this one.
Run that by me again, this time with details.
@chacham It’s pretty simple, really. They provide a 5v charge that you can power a Raspberry Pi from. The more mAh you use, the better. @shadowzen I was wondering about that I have a Pi 2 and a Pi 3
@shadowzen That’s is a great idea! Thank you for explaining.
/giphy great idea
Shit, they got me two days in a row.
@andrewpatrick Same.
I bought these last time they came around. Solid batteries doing good work. Highly recommend (despite the fact that they can [with charging accessories as appropriate] charge the s3, s4, s6, s7 but NOT my s5…)
unoccupied-daunting-magpie
Back in my day, we used to charge things with cables. And it took all day. And we were grateful!
This is the price of a charging cable—and it includes a charging cable. As it happens, I needed a charging cable, so the rest is gravy (for my rapid-crummy-meal).
@zerocircle It comes with a nifty little micro USB to lightning adapter too.
@sammydog01 I know! And a 30-pin connector for those still rocking the oldstyle iDevices! AND an induction charger. It’s NUTS.
Plus, “prismatic battery.” That’s, like, a ninth-level spell right there.
I don’t already have two of everything in this, so I was forced to buy.
/giphy eminent caring ray
@OldCatLady He deserved that.
I’m sick of these art/film/animation students creating these fakie videos
Bought for the charging mat.
/giphy wistful sugary peanut
…Missed opportunity.
Wouldn’t Heaven have unlimited cloud storage? Or has Hell, err, I mean Apple, Google already taken it all?
