Look, the first day of summer — meteorological or astronomical or whatever — friggin “my self-centered concept of summer” is that what everybody gets all gaga about: June 21st. This alleged first day of summer is nothing more than the beginning of shorter days and shorter days until we eventually work well into the dark past 5pm and it’s cold and snowy and people stay inside and bawl their eyes out in a fetal fold and binge watch pretty much anything that’s on for days. Start preparing for the end of summer when it starts and you won’t be disappointed.
happy september. drive carefully. kids are back in school and wandering around with backpacks in the street just asking to be run over.
@tinamarie1974 Been years since I saw snow here. I rather miss snow. And cross county skiing, and sledding and building snowmen… Do NOT miss shoveling, car stuck, chipping ice off the windshield…
@Kidsandliz I agree on all counts. We get a little here every year, but I have not yet found the right guy to sled and have snow ball fights with…and having a snowball fight by oneself is really no fun. Hehehehehe.
@tinamarie1974 Where my mom lives (retirement apt) folks were lamenting one dinner that they missed seeing snowmen. So I waited until the downstairs living room/lobby was empty, snuck outside and laboriously build a 3 or so foot high one right by the front door next to the bushes.
As there was only a bit more than a dusting of snow it took quite a bit of what was around (and I started with the plowed snow pile to get the biggest chunks I could find to use as the core). Took me over an hour to build it. Had stick arms, and if I recall correctly rocks and pine cones for the face and buttons, and a dollar tree hat. They loved it.
@tinamarie1974 For the pleasure it gave people it was worth the effort. I made sure it could be seen from the lobby/living room window too so that they didn’t have to go outside to see it.
@PocketBrain We had a heat index of 110 on Sunday. High of 100. Way the heck too hot. Especially for September. Give me the lovely midwest falls any day over the deep south’s: “Fall? What is that? It is still summer you fool.”.
@PocketBrain I love reading my local WTForecast!
Today it’s Hotter than the hinges of hell…
93 degrees currently. Headed to the pool, then shower for work…
Summer will last another month or more, first frost maybe in mid to late Nov.
Well high today is 99. No idea what the heat index will be. Temps are 10+ degrees higher than usual for this month. Been that way all month. Wish there were the funny weather reports (like @riotdeamon and @chienfou have posted) for around here. Need to have at least something to laugh at in all of this ridiculous heat.
@chienfou@Kidsandliz side note… Is deamon that common of a word that it constantly gets auto corrected for my name? I’ve only heard of email mailer deamons.
It’s kind of already gone.
@sammydog01 Meteorological summer is over, but astronomical summer has a couple of weeks left!
@sammydog01 That’s why I posted the video a month ago. https://meh.com/forum/topics/dumbshit-summers-almost-gone-4
@Collin1000 @sammydog01 I remember! It was very apropos!
Maybe tRUMP can extend it like he said the hurricane was headed for Alabama.
@Felton10 Wow… this is totally a good place for a political discussion! I’m proud of you
@mOONmOON Thanks for the compliment. I always read and listen to what “The Chosen One” has to say. I live and die on his every tweet.
@Felton10 You gotta stop letting that guy rain on your parade Felton.
@Felton10 @therealjrn my sides hurt from laughing at this. Thanks
@therealjrn An umbrella can hardly protect you from the daily shit storm from the Orange Skidmark.
Can’t wait. It’ll be hot for another few months, but whatever.
@RiotDemon Yeah 100 here today, high humidity and heat index of 110. Blech.

@Kidsandliz that sounds lovely!

It’s still going to climb into the 90’s today here; summer lasts 6 months in this part of the country.
@PocketBrain OMG

So you don’t need these in winter? Your crazy. The snow makes it so bright outside and here in Florida we are call the sunshine state for a reason.
I guess, since it’s not over 90 today.

@Kidsandliz those are from the WTForecast app… a free app that is pretty accurate in my experience
@chienfou @Kidsandliz mine is from the Fucking Weather app.
Did you know that @carl669 is the keeper of the count?
@chienfou @Kidsandliz side note… Is deamon that common of a word that it constantly gets auto corrected for my name? I’ve only heard of email mailer deamons.
@RiotDemon No idea. Clearly I need to pay more attention to autocorrect. Sorry about that!
@Kidsandliz no worries. Just find it odd that it’s been happening a lot lately.
@Kidsandliz @RiotDemon actually it ,SHOULD autocorrect to DAEMON if I’m not mistaken… That’s the archaic spelling…
