@n8mack33@robson Except when they’re viscose, in which case the word “Bamboo” is used to make them seem like they aren’t really the end result of an industrial chemical process.
@hchavers really enjoying being on cotton flannel (yes, it’s Summer) with a down comforter with cotton duvet cover right now. Definite no to Meh-cro-fiber.
@hchavers Given the two states where they’re selling, I’d say microfiber sheets are to sleeping like a microwave is to cooking: Randomly overheated and uncomfortably damp.
@hchavers No, but it is like sleeping in a plastic bag compared with the feel of 100% cotton sheets. It’s also just terrific for the environment (snark)!
@HankB33@robson “Bamboo” sheets are “bamboo” in somewhat the same way that polyester/microfiber sheets are crude oil. Yes, bamboo is the feed stock for the chemical process that converts it to “viscose” (a type of Rayon), but they entirely lose all of the bamboo nature in that process. Where linen and cotton are actual natural fibers that have been collected and relieved of the parts of their plants that aren’t the useful fiber, bamboo doesn’t grow a fiber called “viscose”.
Ugh, so many people yelling for cotton, organic a plus but not a deal breaker. Nope, more petrochemical fabrics that break down faster in washing and eventually tear. Look it up.
Cotton cotton cotton please!?!
@craigcush I can’t figure out if the companies are still cranking this plastic stuff out because they can dump it cheap at Wally World and here, or if Meh is just getting shit/shiploads of containers of stuff cheap that nobody wants anymore.
Agreed. Microfiber and it’s ilk makes me itch when it comes to sheets. Cotton with a percale weave (ideally supima or Egyptian) are my material of choice for sheets and the only kind I use outside of the occasional rayon sheets.
@natertots Not me. I insist on being wrapped properly in a real wool rug bound with braided curtain tiebacks. And just in case the assassins didn’t bring their own, I keep an extra rug in the corner. I also have a good selection of curtain ties even though I don’t actually have curtains that need ties. The idea of having my body dumped while wrapped in plastic is just so environmentally unsound!
@natertots@rockblossom I had never thought of this as being an event for which one ought to be prepared. I guess I live in an insufficiently exciting area.
Rather than demand cotton, I’m just going to ask that Mediocre display an iota of environmental decency and stop enabling the makers of this garbage. The remainder market cuts losses. Manufacturers know they’re making a bullshit product, they surely consider the expected remainder price when calculating whether to continue producing this crap.
There’s always other junk to sell, things that creators earnestly thought were good ideas, viral latecomers, things that were once good and have been supplanted by an AI-assisted model, product launches.
Nobody honestly thinks plastic bedsheets are good.
I received my Anti-Fatigue Floor Mat yesterday. Opened the box, it’s folded in two. Prominent in block letters on the plastic around it, DO NOT FOLD. meh!
It’s a damn shame that so many things have been done to torpedo the efforts to increase domestic hemp production for fiber, or we could have another reasonably economical alternative to cotton, and thus another way to not buy polyester/microfiber.
@customers we’re running these again today if you happened to like them and need a backup set! We’re also curious what your thoughts were in general if you’re open to sharing your feedback in the forums

My flat sheets are never flat, they’re always wrinkled
It’s no small feat that they NEVER have any Cal King sizes…
@n8mack33 And they are always microfiber! Bleh!
@n8mack33 @robson Except when they’re viscose, in which case the word “Bamboo” is used to make them seem like they aren’t really the end result of an industrial chemical process.
Are microfiber sheets to sleeping like microwave is to cooking, get terrible results in half the time?
@hchavers Is your microwave oven broken?
@hchavers really enjoying being on cotton flannel (yes, it’s Summer) with a down comforter with cotton duvet cover right now. Definite no to Meh-cro-fiber.

How about some good quality 100% COTTON sheets for once!
@robson I’d buy that
@robson What about bamboo? How does that compare to cotton?
@goldnectar @robson Me too, and probably multiple sets.

@robson @werehatrack Thanks for explaining that.

Cotton cotton cotton please!?!
@craigcush I’m guessing that’s the reason these were available in quantities for Meh to sell, though

Microfiber… Blech is right…Gotta be Cotton High Thread count, TYVM. Egyptian is Nice
Microfiber sheets are great at maximizing static electricity!
@3Phen Excellent for creating a light show when you have low humidity and cats.
Plastic sheets? Pass. Don’t waste your money
The only time I want to be wrapped in plastic sheeting is when I’m murdered and being thrown into a river.
@natertots Sign me up!

@natertots Well meh has the sheets for you then!
Got any Split California King? Ever?

@krmugn52 Head over to meh.com/support to let them know. The staff doesn’t reliably read everything on the forum.
It’s a damn shame that so many things have been done to torpedo the efforts to increase domestic hemp production for fiber, or we could have another reasonably economical alternative to cotton, and thus another way to not buy polyester/microfiber.
@werehatrack Also an alternative to paper production and an alternative to petro-Diesel.

I like them. Would get another if they had the color I didn’t buy already in the size I need. Not a fan of the plaid options.
