@joedel263 Exactly the difference I found, they seem to buy stuff just for them (especially doing 15,000) rather than clearing out all the returns/damaged etc. TT for a bit was clearing out stuff while moving and got some random VHS and other stuff, that was kind of interesting. Not just super cheap chinese junk.
I was ready to stop but took chance on extra birthday crap but not holding breath.
@joedel263@raccoon81 I think the special birthday cape was for your monkey to wear- the birthday packs came with them too.
Last year it was the listed bunch of Woot branded stuff plus one higher end electronic item. Some people got really nice headphones. Others got Fire sticks. I would be pissed off if I got a Fire stick for $50.
I got a bag of crap and a birthday pack so I’m pretty happy.
@joedel263 Heh, the special birthday cape is for your monkey, not you.
As for getting one of the special $50 birthday BoC’s, mainly it’s luck. I got one last year right after signing in and it just popped up. In it was a set of very nice (expensive) ear buds. Along with other stuff, it was probably worth the money I spent. Sometimes it’s not.
Also, I heard that they were only releasing around a dozen of them at a time at the Birthday bash, so not too many people were actually getting one. This may have made it seem that there were “special” ways to acquire one – maybe for a few people, but once again, it’s just plain old luck.
Actually, it was the birthday pack which should have had everyone salivating. I got one and I’m extremely happy.
