@Kyeh@macromeh absence is no longer illegal. They discovered that the type of word used is very mild and does not have enough in there to cause issues. There is even absence made without it
@Cerridwyn Yeah, he’s the type who likes to research and experiment with things; he grew his own wormwood; he was trying to see if it really was hallucinatory but it didn’t turn out to be. He stopped when he was able to get it legally.
@Cerridwyn@macromeh Speech-to-text has made some interesting substitutions there!
Yeah, he’s told me that they think the dangerous effects in the past were mostly due to alcohol poisoning - people were drinking a lot of it, very strong.
@mycya4me@tinamarie1974 I drank that in my younger days. Gave it up when I was pregnant and eating healthier, never went back. Now the idea of sugar in tea is disgusting to me
@Cerridwyn@mycya4me i choose sweet tea, which is southern, but I am clearly not. I also choose Splenda as I am diabetic and would like to keep my appendages.
@mikesmells Gotta love the K. A.-Flavormania!
I genuinely miss the variety of sugar-free flavors they made when I was a child('80’s). Examples: The Great Bluedini, Purplesaraus Rex, Rock-A-Dile Red, Sharkleberry Fin etc.
Sugar-Free Kool Aid was so much easier to make too. Just add water. No measuring sugar or making sure there was sugar in the cupboard at all. So what if it contained a little artificial sweetener, I’ve never met anyone that got cancer as a result of Kool Aid consumption.
@tweezak Reed’s is the best I’ve ever had. With a few different strengths and varieties to choose from. (I usually like the “Extra Strong” but it’s getting harder and harder to find. I’m also trying to not spend all my money on drinks, too, so I don’t look very far.)
@tweezak@xobzoo Have you ever tried “Cock and Bull” Ginger Beer? It is by far the best I’ve tasted. They make it pure and one with Cherry.
Your post just lit the fuse for me. I’m heading over to Total Wine to pick up some Cock and Bull Ginger Beer and gonna make Moscow Mules to toast Summer!
@accelerator@macromeh@tweezak I’ve done Cock & Bull, and it’s a good strong one, but I prefer the flavor of Reed’s.
But I don’t mix them with anything, so my priorities might be different. (also, everyone has different preferences anyway)
@macromeh@tweezak@xobzoo I just made a Mule yesterday and used Reeds cause Total Wine was out of C&B. I really liked Reeds and it was less expensive. Now I’m not so insistent on using C&B.
Moscow Mule made with Kirkland Vodka, Cock and Bull Ginger Beer, and a generous squeeze of fresh Lime.
Fill a Copper mug with ice, 2 jiggers of Vodka, top off with Ginger Beer, add a generous squeeze of Lime and a sprig of fresh mint from the herb garden out back. Wow! This is a refreshing drink.
Stiegl Radler in Grapefruit.
@yakkoTDI

Wish I could still drink this, but grapefruit is a no-no when taking statins.
@macromeh I will hoist one in your honor.
Absenthe
@Cerridwyn I have a friend who used to distill and bottle his own absinthe, and design and print the labels.
@Kyeh Wow, that is very complex to make with all the herbal ingredients.
@Cerridwyn @Kyeh

Mmmm, delicious nerve damage…
Wormwood grows wild in the local woods - smells wonderful but I think I’ll pass…
@Kyeh @macromeh absence is no longer illegal. They discovered that the type of word used is very mild and does not have enough in there to cause issues. There is even absence made without it

@Kyeh @macromeh yeah usually does. And I’m not a very good proofreader for your
@Cerridwyn @macromeh Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder.

/image root beer float

Sweet tea!!
@tinamarie1974 Amen to that!
@mycya4me @tinamarie1974 I drank that in my younger days. Gave it up when I was pregnant and eating healthier, never went back. Now the idea of sugar in tea is disgusting to me
@Cerridwyn @mycya4me not a popular opinion for some here, but I make it with splenda these days in an effor to cut calories/sugar.
I tried unsweet once, it is not an option.
@Cerridwyn @tinamarie1974 Well that could be a Option… if you were not from the South!
@Cerridwyn @mycya4me looks outside, checks a map…NOPE, sitting here in Missouri, but IMO it is the right answer

@Cerridwyn @tinamarie1974 So you chose the NON Southern option as you are NOT in the South. That is Fine.
@Cerridwyn @mycya4me i choose sweet tea, which is southern, but I am clearly not. I also choose Splenda as I am diabetic and would like to keep my appendages.
/giphy clear now?

@Cerridwyn @mycya4me @tinamarie1974 I am all about the sweet tea with Splenda. (also diabetic)
An ice cold good cider, like Upcider made by Hartwall.
A Kool-Aid 6 Pack.
@mikesmells That would be really good!
@mikesmells Gotta love the K. A.-Flavormania!

@mikesmells Wyler’s is way better than Kool-Aid. They are both way better than Flavor Aid the official drink of Jim Jones.
@mikesmells @yakkoTDI Yep as we know a Lot of people are still drinking it today!
Ice water in an adult glass
@heartny That you would be the Best Drink at all!
@heartny the obvious answer is usually the best answer.
@heartny without the cold rocks!
Margarita. Made them for the pre-dinner cocktail tonight.
How about a Mocktale, Pineapple juice with a dash of Cherry juice! or Ice cold water!
Cider!
Cold brew coffee
If it’s later: ginger kombucha
Of course lately it’s just been energy drinks.
I need to cut back on the caffeine…
Snapple Iced Tea
Mike’s hard lemonade.
Ginger beer

@accelerator @tweezak @xobzoo
Another thumbs up for C&B!
(But I prefer a C&B Dark and Stormy)
@accelerator @macromeh @tweezak I’ve done Cock & Bull, and it’s a good strong one, but I prefer the flavor of Reed’s.

@accelerator @tweezak @xobzoo Reeds is also tasty, but doesn’t have the sinus-clearing effect of C&B.
Frozen coke…or soda of any kind.
@Tadlem43 This is the way.
It’s weird-sounding, but cold barley tea. Really popular in Japan and Korea.
In the winter it’s good hot, and it doesn’t have caffeine.
@Kyeh I like barley tea hot, never tried it cold. I’ll have to give it a go this summer.
Iced tea
Just cold beer.
Specifically this cold beer.
Olde English 40 oz
@sicc574 I used to like OE 40 until I had a little bit too much one night, along with some suspect clam dip, and I’ll stop right there…
A fruity tea with aloe from a boba place.
Moscow Mule made with Kirkland Vodka, Cock and Bull Ginger Beer, and a generous squeeze of fresh Lime.

@accelerator
Tho I must say I agree with KYEH… mojitos are pretty damn good also!
@chienfou They are the best! Mint, Rum, Lime. Delicious! I’m going to make some to offer up with the Mules tomorrow!
A frozen cocktail: pina colada, margarita, etc
Mojito
@Kyeh “It’s not a gay drink!”
(Ignore the lack of preview >:c)
@PooltoyWolf Heh! I hadn’t seen that. I don’t care either way!
@Kyeh Same, hahaha
Nothing sweet, please.
Ice water with a splash of lime.
Like how the icon is a mug of hot chocolate
Melon agua fresca (watermelon, cantaloupe, both work for me)
@pakopako Ooo, agua fresca. That sounds really good.

Outside of Cool water well a Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster would hit the spot before you hit the floor!
