Anyone else having VMP only deal issues?
4I just missed out on 2 of the VMP only deals, because it says I’m not a VMP member. I checked my account, and I’m a member. My card is up to date and getting charged every month. My shipping is even listed as free when I try to order, but it says VMP only when I check out. Anyone else having this issue?

Same issue. Apparently there is a difference between members and VMP members. I used to be a VMP member and have been since Meh.com launched. Apparently I was downgraded at some point but never knew it. I’m paying the monthly fee. Maybe someone who knows more can explain.
@bweather if memory serves (warning: it often doesn’t) the monthly fee is a flat $5 for the original VMP. The newer membership charges 1 cent less $4.99/month, so your fee should tell you which you have

@bweather @t0nyc0tt4m Wow. That’s some hair splitting BS right there. I joined up to the site very early on, and my VMP membership got canceled when I had a credit card expire, and when I signed back up again, I thought it was for VMP.
@bweather @johntmeche3 @t0nyc0tt4m when VMP was discontinued, they put a giant warning in everybody’s profile that if you let your VMP lapse it would be gone. However, if there was a credit card issue or what not usually you could contact support and they would revert you back to a VMP. The biggest difference between the two memberships, is you can cancel membership whenever you want and then pick it up if there’s an item you want to buy. VMP, you have to keep selling out that $5 every single month whether you want to buy things or not.
I just purchased it, for the Clawz Clogs deal and others, but it won’t allow me to because apparently I’m still not a member. My account updated to say I am, so I don’t know what’s going on. I hope I don’t miss that deal.
@carter2chemist VMP and membership are two different things. VMP doesn’t exist anymore.

I was a VMP member, used to get occasional free gifts like socks and such. Guess it switched over a couple of years ago and I never noticed. No Clawz Clogs for me.

Is this whole membership/VMP confusion worth it in terms of ill will?
This bullshit comes up all the time. Why do you do this @snapster? You aren’t sending VMPs anything any more anyway. Fuck, just kill 1 or the other.
@therealjrn Well, we did get the secret benefit with PastaDrop, and the coupons from that as well. I personally count that as a ton of value.
Maybe the VMP hour during a meh-rathon needs a big, bold, red, impossible to miss message that says you can’t buy because you’re just a member and not a VMP. Or axe the VMP hour entirely; I’d miss the VMP-exclusive shot at an IRK, but I’d miss having VMP at all a whole lot more.

Maybe do a Morningsave page for all stuff that does not sellout with the link in the ICYMI message? More might sell if it was easier to see what is available.

Yeah I was having the same issue. When my account was degraded because my debit card was cancelled because of a possible fraud issue. I contacted support and they said it was supposed to have been turned back on. Today I found out it wasn’t apparently.

@MsELizardBeth I waffle about keeping VMP all the time. When I look at it as $60 a year, I want to kill it. When I think of it a just $5 a month I calm down.

Guess what, folx? Comcast/Xfinity service in this here podunk place means that each new deal takes 20-30 seconds to load, so no IRKs (or really good/limited deals) for me… so I’m only going to keep the stupid VMP until I forget, one day, to click the “meh” button and break my sorry streak. Other than an occasional good deal from Casemates every few months, I haven’t really found much here of value in a couple of years, maybe 3-5 “deals”. I guess I could live without all of this mess, hmmmm …

Looks like you have averaged over 2 orders a month over your membership… seems like that would have made the $$ spent on VMP a win… Of course, that is assuming you didn’t order 30 items in 30 days in which case having a ‘membership’ that you can turn on and off when you buy something may be better suited.
Personally, I consider the $5 a month an “entertainment fee” and the bonus stuff like VMP hours etc is just that… a bonus.
Oh… by the way… happy one year click anniversary tomorrow… OK technically the day after tomorrow…
Am VMP, I think, but am rarely available during the VMP hour. Oh well - I think I buy enough to make it worth it.
When I catch VMP hour, it’s by accident. I never remember when it is. Wasn’t lucky yesterday.
