@CrossIT-,my nephew loved this kind of this kind of stuff, but I honestly believe that he would have to PASS on this deal. I mean, promise him a rookie, or 1 tradable card, man
@thekenya 99% of all comics published will not grow in value beyond the cover price in your lifetime. That’s pretty much the way it has always been. Maybe in 75 years they will be worth something for the historical curiosity.
Because these are selling below cover price, I’m going to guess that they’ve been picked through and these are the “junk” comics. It’s possible that there may be a breakout character introduced in one of these that will factor in in the distant future. For example, Groot was an obscure character from the 1960’s until he was a movie star. No one could have possibly known that in the 1960’s.
@Office_Zombie- it sounds like the sunglasses duplication conspiracy. I bought two orders of the same offer, and wound up with at least 8 to 10 pair of the same, bottom of the line, pair of sunglasses. Give me a Gogdamn break, Man!!
@Office_Zombie I bought this last time they had it. No duplicates but it’s a real grab bag of issue 47 this and issue 3 (of what turned out to be 3) of something nobody has ever heard of (for good reason). It’s fun for a lark, but at $25 a little pricey.
@ruthwik1
I took thing 1&2, it’s really fun. It’s like a comic book come to life. Thor has changed a bit, but not necessarily in a bad way, and it’s incorporated into the story.
@darkzrobe I got some as a kid, but only one reanimated when I put it in the water. Then I realized that I didn’t have a way to clean the tiny plastic tank and the water got nasty and killed the last survivor.
@jandrese I had the small included tank and I bought a lamp and a timer to keep it warm. Been debating trying again with a larger tank. There is also these triops things that look fun. Maybe a future desk toy.
…or, you could go down to your local library and for free randomly select comics from the comic/graphic novel shelf, and donate $15 to the library (buy yourself an ice cream with the other $5 for being so freaking generous)…
@sammydog01 Dagnabbit! Was in Las Vegas last weekend and put $20 (big money! big money!) on the Bills over Oakland and won. Rolled that over on to this game - would have paid $70. And I was going to donate that to my local library!
I got spoiled by my local comic book store growing up (like 10 years ago). They consistently had 100 big name but throw-away comics for $10. I like random comics, so I’m tempted but still a bit too high a price to impulse buy… I may be back.
@Trask Won’t be Dark Horse (the whole “Marvel and DC” thing), but maybe Meh staff will tell us if there might be stuff like the DC imprints WildStorm or Vertigo (or the older Pirhana or Paradox), or Marvel imprints like Marvel Knights or MAX. These might be inappropriate for kids.
@Trask I think it’s all fairly mainstream, but I’d definitely suggest you flip through the books before handing them over (or have a nephew’s parent do that)
@dave Thank to you both for the replies! I’ll hold off on the Meh, but this has inspired me to go to a local comic book store and put together a present for him. Take care!
Pretty much crap.
I got the last deal. Most were off brand comics I couldn’t stomach leafing through. Our local antique shop has comics for $1.
Pick what you want.
Mine came in today. A quick glance through them makes it apparent mine are mostly Marvel, if not all Marvel. No duplicates, excepting the two identical ROXIO Angry Birds Sticker-Books protecting the other 23 between in the envelope. Not bad.
Bought two to have something fun to read with my son. Both contained multiple duplicates of the same comics. Both contained two Angry Bird sticker books. Pretty sure that neither Marvel or D.C. had Angry Birds… Love the false advertisement.

Nope, no first possible in the random selection.
@hchavers The guy in the story Dave linked below got a few #1s in his random selection, so maybe?
@hchavers meh
What a laugh
@CrossIT-,my nephew loved this kind of this kind of stuff, but I honestly believe that he would have to PASS on this deal. I mean, promise him a rookie, or 1 tradable card, man
What are the chances that a profit could be made off of these?
@thekenya pretty much zero. Comics speculation is long dead.

I love the meh button today. Make it into a shirt, OK
@sammydog01 this is so meh I cannot even press the meh button…
@sammydog01 totally on point.
Yeah. I remember when Meh was Woot and I bought “Random” comic books. Ended up getting like 6 copies each of 4 different comic books. Never again.
@Office_Zombie- it sounds like the sunglasses duplication conspiracy. I bought two orders of the same offer, and wound up with at least 8 to 10 pair of the same, bottom of the line, pair of sunglasses. Give me a Gogdamn break, Man!!

@Office_Zombie Son of a bitch! I never knew these rat bastards were Woot. LAWLZ on me, I guess.
Meanwhile at Meh headquarters:
“And can you believe these morons are still paying US $5 a month to sell them candy corn, comic books, and shitty speaker docks, hah!”
@frozenshades- and I bought a Shark like last nights $45 special for $39.99+ free shipping. YEA!!
@frozenshades You forgot all those boss fidget spinners.
@therealjrn Hey, those are pretty cool.
Meh, i’ll give you 10 bucks for a 25 pack.
This was a nice story that happened last time we sold these.
A sale on comic books AND the Fridy video! Could this be my favorite Meh day ever?!
…

Even if the books are not to my liking, I could pass them out as Halloween treats with fidget spinners. Take that, candy corn.

@JT95
I’d like the dung beetle’s ability to tolerate hot, dry climates.
Big meh without trading cards…
Could it be possible that marvel predicted today’s deal and released Thor Ragnarok the same day
@ruthwik1
I took thing 1&2, it’s really fun. It’s like a comic book come to life. Thor has changed a bit, but not necessarily in a bad way, and it’s incorporated into the story.
@mike808 I got a pack of these as a adult and they were actually quite fun. They get pretty big too if you take care of them.
@jandrese I had some as an adult. They were fun. You could buy a racetrack for them. For reals.
Shhhh. Don’t tell Dolt45. He’ll want one.

@darkzrobe What’s that guy talking about? That thing looks awesome!
Dave. You’re totally doing your job. I almost bought this cause of this.
What? When did this price increase take effect? I’m still pissed from when comic books went to 12¢.
…or, you could go down to your local library and for free randomly select comics from the comic/graphic novel shelf, and donate $15 to the library (buy yourself an ice cream with the other $5 for being so freaking generous)…
@BuffBillsFan Bummer about last night, right?
@sammydog01 Dagnabbit! Was in Las Vegas last weekend and put $20 (big money! big money!) on the Bills over Oakland and won. Rolled that over on to this game - would have paid $70. And I was going to donate that to my local library!
@BuffBillsFan You could buy a bunch of comic books, read them, then donate them to the library instead.
LOLZ and kudos to whoever wrote, "…“Batman and Robert” and “…Hulks of dubious credibility”.
@jakemanchester That would be @skemmehs
I got spoiled by my local comic book store growing up (like 10 years ago). They consistently had 100 big name but throw-away comics for $10. I like random comics, so I’m tempted but still a bit too high a price to impulse buy… I may be back.
Will these all be safe for kiddies (Xmas gift for 6 year old nephew to expose him to comics), or might there be some gory Dark Horse style stuff?
@Trask Won’t be Dark Horse (the whole “Marvel and DC” thing), but maybe Meh staff will tell us if there might be stuff like the DC imprints WildStorm or Vertigo (or the older Pirhana or Paradox), or Marvel imprints like Marvel Knights or MAX. These might be inappropriate for kids.

I don’t see any Superman or Batman in these assorted Marvel comics… what gives?
@matthewjfazio
@matthewjfazio
@Brasssong
I was thinking of this as a gift for a kid…but ‘some duplication possible’? Er…not so hot…
What the hey…
/buy --set 50-Pack --coupon IGetOneForFree
@ManBehindPlan It worked! Your order number is: radiant-flatulent-collar

@Brasssong Is that Mr Charles Atlas?
in the flesh, yes!
Pretty much crap.
I got the last deal. Most were off brand comics I couldn’t stomach leafing through. Our local antique shop has comics for $1.

@meh427 too much gas money to get to your local shop

@therealjrn You got the Angry birds sticker books too, huh? They make a good liner for my trash can.
