Just a warning- I bought these from sidedeal recently. I really like them and they sound nice. But the shiny metal ring around the control button is slightly corroded on all three. It’s just cosmetic but it might bug you.
I have two of these Ones and 14 other Libratone thingys. I’m responsible for the sale of 6 more, after people heard them. Fantastic performance and battery life. Libratone has turned out to be a heck of a speaker company. I’ll choose them over anything else.
Couldn’t pass these up and risk them going away for good since they are being featured for a day. IMO these are a lot better sounding than thy cylindrical Libratone speakers even though these lack features. I have these hung up in my office to the left and right of me plugged into the computer so I get stereo at a soft volume and it’s not blaring the whole office.
@tweezak It’s not that surprising when you use these things and realize they’re actually quite good. If anything, the products they made are much better than their marketing, which is probably why they went bankrupt. I didn’t even know about Libratone until Meh started clearancing their stuff!
@Atomizer And yes, I continue to use these on a daily basis and stand by what I wrote previously. They sound and work great (which is true of all of the Libratone products I’ve purchased from Meh,) but are kind of a pain to re-pair every time.
I bought 2 of these last time they were offered, IMO they are great! Very good sound, great build quality, packaging is reminiscent of Apple, which just says quality all the way! Charging cable is a quality braided cable, not cheap plastic coating. If this form factor works for you and you need a quality bluetooth speaker, go for it, you won’t be disappointed!
well, these might work well for my mom, who won’t wear her hearing aids and with tv maxed out, still complains. Now I can put these on either side of her head. hehe
@werekong Amazon says “directly from Tidal and internet radio intergreted in Libratone App” which sounds like nothing actually really integrated - get the phone app and, via tidal, you can make the speaker play internet radio. There’s no wifi in these to access internet radio (AFAICT) so these seem to have internet radio the same way any bluetooth speaker would.
@slipperyp@werekong Yeah I set up my round ones (Zipp something something) with AirPlay and it was pretty cool – first time I tried that from the Apple stuff. Of course it could also do bluetooth but AirPlay had some advantages once I got use to it.
But regardless of if these had WiFi, you’d still need some app to tune in the “station” and tell the speaker to play it. Whether it’s an Apple thing or Tidal or something else, there’s still some other device involved.
But I agree now that I tried AirPlay it’s a big benefit. Mostly you don’t need to pair with bluetooth, and your whole house WiFi range is included since it’s using WiFi instead of flaky bluetooth. And I think I could add additional sets of speakers to the group but never tried that. Also I never really did the Alexa stuff that was supported on some models. I guess if I didn’t have a ton of portable speakers I’d go for this. But I will say that the Libratone products I’ve bought here (headphones and speakers) have been very nicely-made products with excellent performance for the size (and especially price).
EDIT on the other hand, maybe by later today and bit more wine from casemates, I might decide to go for a pair anyway. I would like to try these.
The reviews are good, I can see these being useful at times - and yet somehow, until now I don’t own any bluetooth speakers at all. I don’t know what kind of noob that makes me that I have an account on here and have not bought at least several hundred before.
Bought 2. Eh, they are OK… Finicky about connecting to Bluetooth, and one of mine, brand new, sometimes acts like it is out of batteries, then it is miraculously full… They do sound good, but generally, not pleased with the engineering.
I bought the two-pack. I’ve been pushing the crap out of my nightengales, but neither of them will turn on. Also, any idea how long these need to charge? I’ve gone from a flashing red light on the back to a flashing white light, to one of them is still white, but no longer flashing.
@sammydog01
Oh man! Perhaps if I had looked at these with adequate light I might have seen that! Thank you so much! They work!!
I’d have to say that the documentation for these is terrible. You shouldn’t need much for speakers, but I swear it says that to turn it on, you press and hold the nightengale for three seconds.
@jenniferamcd I had the same problem, pink light for both. Decided to charge both before writing to meh. Started to charge the second in another room on a different mount, and it immediately started to charge and turned on right away. Brought the other one (pink light) in and it started working right away as well. Moved it back to the original mount and cord and it continued to charge. Seemed magical to me. Red flashing means charging on low battery, white flashing means charging with battery over a quarter, solid white is fully changed. Maybe solid pink is charging but too low to turn on??? Either way, they both work now and am happy with the sound and pairing ability
I just received these. Tried powering both units on and nothing happens. Plugged them in and the light stays solid orange next to the micro USB port. However it’s not seeming to charge, and I cannot turn it on even when it’s plugged in. Let the unit charge overnight, and in the morning light was still orange and long pressing the power button will not turn on the speaker. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
@danob@sammydog01 I got one that failed in that way (pink/orange light and wouldn’t power on after hours of charging), and another whose light only briefly blinked red, would only beep when powered up, and could not be paired with anything. Tried different chargers and cables, no joy.
I contacted meh and they got back to me quickly, also implying I wasn’t the only one. Shoot them a message and they should take care of you.
@blandoon@danob The person in the comment above this got theirs to work by changing the charger type. They may need a lot of amps or whatever, I’m not an engineer. Worth a shot.

@sammydog01 does not sound splash proof
i bought a pair of these a while back, the sound is great and good battery life too. great deal imo
I have two of these Ones and 14 other Libratone thingys. I’m responsible for the sale of 6 more, after people heard them. Fantastic performance and battery life. Libratone has turned out to be a heck of a speaker company. I’ll choose them over anything else.
Don’t need these but I’m real happy with the headphones. Sure better than those electrocrapic ones.
@radi0j0hn I might buy these and fashion them into headphones.
Couldn’t pass these up and risk them going away for good since they are being featured for a day. IMO these are a lot better sounding than thy cylindrical Libratone speakers even though these lack features. Do you need to use the libratone app to use these or will they pair by regular ole Bluetooth? Thanks
@Vrysen Individually they’ll pair without the app, but you need the app to enable the stereo modes as far as I can tell.
@Atomizer @Vrysen The app also lets you adjust the sound. But that’s it.
These really remind me of the transistor radios I had. Could they put a collapsible antenna on the top corner for nostalgia?
@hchavers No, but you can.
Does it sound (pun intended) to anyone else like meh is stuffing the ratings box? So many stellar reviews almost seems too good to be true.
@tweezak It’s not that surprising when you use these things and realize they’re actually quite good. If anything, the products they made are much better than their marketing, which is probably why they went bankrupt. I didn’t even know about Libratone until Meh started clearancing their stuff!
Wow, I’m…famous?
@Atomizer And yes, I continue to use these on a daily basis and stand by what I wrote previously. They sound and work great (which is true of all of the Libratone products I’ve purchased from Meh,) but are kind of a pain to re-pair every time.
@Atomizer

Just once, under the “What’s in the Box?” header I’d like to see “Gwyneth Paltrow’s Head” listed.
I bought 2 of these last time they were offered, IMO they are great! Very good sound, great build quality, packaging is reminiscent of Apple, which just says quality all the way! I bought one of these Libratone speakers (different model) that works with AirPlay. I didn’t see it in the specs, do this work with AirPlay?
@Sarisin I had the same question and I suspect the answer is « no »
@pmarin @Sarisin I powered mine up just in case and the answer is no.
well, these might work well for my mom, who won’t wear her hearing aids and with tv maxed out, still complains. Now I can put these on either side of her head. hehe

Amazon says their model has internet radio capability. Do those offered here have it?
@werekong Amazon says “directly from Tidal and internet radio intergreted in Libratone App” which sounds like nothing actually really integrated - get the phone app and, via tidal, you can make the speaker play internet radio. There’s no wifi in these to access internet radio (AFAICT) so these seem to have internet radio the same way any bluetooth speaker would.
@slipperyp Thanks.
I would have bought if it had wifi, and, as a result, would have been internet radio capable.
@slipperyp @werekong Yeah I set up my round ones (Zipp something something) with AirPlay and it was pretty cool – first time I tried that from the Apple stuff. Of course it could also do bluetooth but AirPlay had some advantages once I got use to it.

@blandoon You might still be forgiven. How many powerbanks do you have?
Bought 2. Eh, they are OK… Finicky about connecting to Bluetooth, and one of mine, brand new, sometimes acts like it is out of batteries, then it is miraculously full… They do sound good, but generally, not pleased with the engineering.

@sa2112 The power button isn’t the nightingale, it’s on the back.
@sammydog01
Oh man! Perhaps if I had looked at these with adequate light I might have seen that! Thank you so much! They work!!
I’d have to say that the documentation for these is terrible. You shouldn’t need much for speakers, but I swear it says that to turn it on, you press and hold the nightengale for three seconds.
mine won’t turn on either. Solid pink light for the charge, but won’t turn on.
@jenniferamcd Seems weird that you would get two lemons- are you holding the power button down for a few seconds?
@sammydog01 it would seem that I expected they would work before they were fully charged. A couple of hours after I posted they worked just fine.
@jenniferamcd I had the same problem, pink light for both. Decided to charge both before writing to meh. Started to charge the second in another room on a different mount, and it immediately started to charge and turned on right away. We bought these to use as thank you gifts for my daughter’s teachers…hope they are perfect!

@danob Maybe try a different charging device?
@danob @sammydog01 I got one that failed in that way (pink/orange light and wouldn’t power on after hours of charging), and another whose light only briefly blinked red, would only beep when powered up, and could not be paired with anything. Tried different chargers and cables, no joy.

@blandoon @sammydog01 I already tried multiple chargers and a pc with no luck. Sent customer service a message and waiting to hear back from them.
How do you pair these for stereo?
@gr0650 You need the app to do it. I think there’s a button for stereo.
