What’s in the Box?
108 Count - Harry & David Single Serve K-Cup Coffee In Your Flavor Choice
Well, this really is mediocre. Though I appreciate the novelty of not buying K-Cups, which is a nice break from not buying slime putty, charger battery packs, or Bluetooth speakers.
@mike808 $13 for good coffee is a deal. And there is a premium for the K-cup method of delivery. Unfortunately this does not sound at all like that kind of coffee. (and though there are some high-end K-cups which have surprised me in how good they are, the $20-40/lb stuff you won’t find in K-cups.)
EDIT note I deliberately did not include the $80/lb stuff supposedly pooped by tree animals in some country. My friend and I recently debated this – I thought it was Indonesia but he thought it was a country in Africa. Either way probably not getting that.
Though if Meh found a deal on things pooped by animals, I’m sure they would sell it here. Or put it in a IRK.
@mike808@pmarin Tell your friend he owes you a bag of Kopi Luwak as it’s harvested in the Indonesian islands of Sumatra, Java, Bali, Sulawesi, and in East Timor
@MRyan69@ShotgunX I love flavored coffee and don’t care what others in the forum here say about that. Seems the prevailing opinion is “yuck” but I just ignore what others say and buy what I like anyway.
Sometimes I buy this 40 pack from Amazon.
That’s because it has 40 distinct flavors without any duplicates. But today’s coffee offering is too much to have 108 of an unusual flavor so I bought the regular flavor (breakfast blend) for myself, then ordered two more set and have them shipped to unsuspecting friends. I would love to have had the variety pack and would have ordered 3 of those sets instead of the plain.
K-Cup Coffee is the best. I get to brew one cup at a time, so I don’t waste all that water making a full pot. And then I get to put each used pod into a landfill.
@hchavers You do realize they also have biogegradeable k-cups if you wanna be green and still have great coffee consider getting getting SF Bay it’s so good
@ConcealedPsycho@hchavers I have these refillable kcups and a tiny scoop. You can use any tasty coffee you want and still use kcups.
The refillable ones are about 5 dollars each but last for hundreds if not thousands of refills.
@cengland0 They did this a while ago, after sending all normal packages through a combination of mule train and 1973 AMC Pacer, also known as “Pitney-Bowes delivery and package vacationing service.” You don’t pay extra for your packages to spend a week or to visiting a state 1000 miles away for no apparent reason. Or for $1.99 you get it maybe the same month.
@pmarin thanks for the info. Usually when I buy things online, timing isn’t too critical so I almost never pay extra for expedited shipping. If I need it now, I’ll buy it locally.
@cengland0 I placed three orders during the Mehrathon on September 16, one with regular shipping and two with enhanced shipping in hope of keeping them out of the hands of Pitney Blows. All three arrived on September 18, in separate FedEx packages.
@cengland0@pmarin you say that but. Mule train would cost a ton on food. But I wouldn’t mind seeing one pull up. The Amish are fine and they don’t even rustle up mulles
@ThunderChicken I bought an IRK during the Mehrathon but I checked out so fast that I didn’t bother looking at any options. Maybe it was there but I didn’t notice.
I find it too difficult to buy anything else during the Mehrathon unless it’s something I knew I’ve always wanted and already know everything about it.
The problem is when you have 2 minutes and 30 seconds to make up your mind about whether to buy or not, the answer is not buy. I like to read the specs, compare prices (especially on morningsave and sidedeal), read the comment section to hear what everyone else has to say about it, look at negative reviews, etc. There is no way to do all that so quickly that I don’t even bother. Yes, I know, you can always go back to a previous item (unless its sold out) during the last few mehrathons but I have an obsession with face clicking and not missing an IRK opportunity that I’m afraid to leave the current tab for too long.
@cengland0@ThunderChicken I wouldn’t even want to chance using that option on an IRK for fear of some sort of “you can’t use that shipping” error or something. I’d be curious if anyone ever has.
@sleuth I haven’t used it or tried to on an IRK. The buying process is so fast that I don’t have time to read anything. I know if I stopped to select that option (if it’s there), I would lose the opportunity to snag that IRK. A delay of a half second can make the difference between getting one or not.
@unksol Yes, very familiar with that Informed Delivery service because I get an email from them daily that shows all the letters I’m receiving that day. So what does that have to do with paying for expedited delivery?
@cengland0 nothing. It just notifies you when to check your porch/mail box/drop when the USPS finally gets it from FedEx/UPS/PB.
So if you are ok with not paying for expedited shipping which I would bet most people are you at least get a heads up when it eventually shows up from PB hell
@cengland0@sleuth Also, $2 extra tips the scales in the IRK risk/reward relationship. Besides, from reading the reveal threads, delays and package destruction appear to have become essential to the IRK experience. They are now ARKs (advance regret from delays) and DRKs (damage regret).
@GeckoD I thought that was extremely funny. I was sitting next to Mrs. cengland0 when I read that and laughed out loud and had to read it to her so she can enjoy the good laugh too.
If you’ve never experienced a meh package going on vacation within the Pitney Bowes facilities, then you may not have understood the joke as much as we did. Sometimes you can watch the tracking and it shows at a specific warehouse for a couple weeks without any movement at all.
Since one of us drinks only a single cup of coffee, often decaf (yuck), and the other, multiple cups, we finally bought a dual K-Cup/basket drip machine to cover both of us.
But the flavored crap results in ideally flushing out the machine with a cup less plain water run to prevent the machine from gumming up. So yuck to flavored coffee k-cups for more than simply the yucky flavor.
@pmarin since I make the coffee for both of us, once they learned the machine should be flushed after flavored pods, thankfully, they backed off flavored coffee pods. Together 33 years, married 31 years.
@Commonwealth109 oh brand is delicious they are a high end specialty place. In particular their chocolate covered dried cherries. But also their cofffee and jams
@CaptAmehrican@Commonwealth109 btw, you can get those same chocolate covered cherries @Wally World for about 1/3 the cost, or directly from the manufacturer (Diletante). Even Trader Joe’s carries them. And yes they are deee-lish.
I don’t own a pod coffee maker but I picked up k-cups of Starbucks at my grocery store at half off, just to see what I could do with it. I ended up using them in my Bialetti Moka pot. I open 2 k-cups with my thumbnail, pour it in and it makes a sublime cup of coffee! Very easy for travel with my pot and also convenient at home, no measuring and very fresh. For this, I’m considering today’s meh.
I pity you coffee drinkers and as someone who never touches it I am baffled at your addiction. I would spend more time heaping insults on you but it has been 15 minutes since I have had any chocolate and I’m getting jittery.
Aranica because the b and the n on the QWERTY keyboard are next to one another. But if one is a touch typist and using a keyboard instead of a touch screen, then the n is struck with the right hand and the b with the left. Sometimes, in this age of instant everything, including regret, we miss the copy editor function from the days of yore.
So does this make Aranica the left hand perversion of Arabica?
even though i’m very familiar with the brand (a friend used to work in their call center), I keep wanting to read it as Larry & David…
which, of course, conjures up Larry David (in my mind).
I am totally bummed. I was just notified that my order had shipped, which in reality means that a label was made and it is now in the Pitty Bowels system. As if the fact that PB was responsible for getting my goods to me was not enough, it came to my attention that I only ordered two boxes. I meant to get two of the chocolate and one of the regular, but somehow messed up and only ordered one of each. Now I find myself hoping that it’s not really as delicious as I had anticipated. Is that messed up, or what? …must be the pandemic messing with my head…
@Barney Thanks for the heads up! I hadn’t seen it, and even though it was a tad more expensive than the Meh price, I was able to use my Pasta Drop coupon plus get an assorted pack as well. Win/Win! Much appreciated!
Just a minor complaint. These cups do not work in my Keurig 2.0 machine. The bottom gets deformed - but not perforated and the coffee machine gets annoyed and does not deliver coffee. I have ended up opening the little cups and moving the coffee to a refillable pod. The coffee tastes fine.
Bought the northwest blend thinking it was the three separate flavors listed-not all mixed together. But actually tastes pretty good-not too sweet and best of all-my wife likes it. so any time she likes something I get from meh is always a win.

Something feels wrong. Do these really not expire for a year? What are they doing here?
@zachdecker If you start with crap coffee, then it’ll be pretty hard to detect when it’s gone stale.
Well, this really is mediocre. Though I appreciate the novelty of not buying K-Cups, which is a nice break from not buying slime putty, charger battery packs, or Bluetooth speakers.
Roast and grind my own.
OH MY GOD THEY JACKED GLEN UP ON CHEAP COFFEE UNTIL HIS UNBLINKING EYES STARED DIRECTLY INTO MY VERY SOUL!!!
@shahnm
What did they reveal?
Btw you’re welcome.
No thanks. $13/lb for coffee is not a deal.

@ConcealedPsycho @pmarin The Bucket List
Ewww, flavored coffee! A scourge upon all humanity.
@pmarin Some aren’t too bad but 99% of them you can’t taste the flavoring unless you drink your coffee black and even then it’s still slim
Seriously, you are selling 6 boxes at a time, and you have 6 flavors, and you couldn’t offer a sampler pack with one of each in it?
@ShotgunX Variety is the (Pumpkin) spice of life!
@ShotgunX I want one of each too.
@ShotgunX Ditto on the sampler. 108 of any of these single flavors is too much.
@MRyan69 @ShotgunX I love flavored coffee and don’t care what others in the forum here say about that. Seems the prevailing opinion is “yuck” but I just ignore what others say and buy what I like anyway.
Sometimes I buy this 40 pack from Amazon.

@cengland0 @ShotgunX I also like flavored coffee. Just wish the sampler option was a choice. I did consider getting breakfast blend as well.
Aranica Coffee?
Maybe Meh cornered the world’s market on that one, because no one else has heard of it.
Fortunately, it is only 3 off the offerings that feature Aranica Coffee, the others have 100% Arabica Coffee…
@Euniceandrich I was hoping for Arcania.
@Euniceandrich *Isn’t it Ironica, don’t you think?
/image isn’t it ironic
@Euniceandrich Well actually Aranica Patrick did pretty well in car racing all things considered.
/giphy that’s a stretch
@Euniceandrich Soooo glad I was not the 1st to see this. I thought it might be a new banana republic.
K-Cup Coffee is the best. I get to brew one cup at a time, so I don’t waste all that water making a full pot. And then I get to put each used pod into a landfill.
@hchavers I admire your Ironicity. Or is it Aranicity caused by too much Aranica coffee.
/giphy save the water!
@hchavers You do realize they also have biogegradeable k-cups if you wanna be green and still have great coffee consider getting getting SF Bay it’s so good

@hchavers Why would you have to make a full pot?
@ConcealedPsycho @hchavers I have these refillable kcups and a tiny scoop. You can use any tasty coffee you want and still use kcups.
The refillable ones are about 5 dollars each but last for hundreds if not thousands of refills.

@mehvid1 'K.

Yuck.

@pmarin since I make the coffee for both of us, once they learned the machine should be flushed after flavored pods, thankfully, they backed off flavored coffee pods. Together 33 years, married 31 years.
@pmarin @RedOak yeah but still decaf? Why? Lol
@pmarin @RedOak Congrats! Just remember, women are more inclined to kill with poison, so keep that marriage fresh!
@pmarin @unksol yah, I don’t understand decaf.
Price is good, as it works out to $3.55 per dozen. However has anyone heard of, or tasted this brand?
@Commonwealth109 oh brand is delicious they are a high end specialty place. In particular their chocolate covered dried cherries. But also their cofffee and jams
@CaptAmehrican
Great, thanks - will be giving this one a go then. Don’t see pods (that are actually good) at this price too often.
tempered-creepy-poison
Yikes, I sure hope it’s not
@Commonwealth109 Mine is festering-lonesome-act. Does that mean I can only drink it with blue waffles???
@CaptAmehrican @Commonwealth109 btw, you can get those same chocolate covered cherries @Wally World for about 1/3 the cost, or directly from the manufacturer (Diletante). Even Trader Joe’s carries them. And yes they are deee-lish.
@CaptAmehrican
You don’t mean the coffee is 1/3rd this price do you? That would be $1.15 per dozen, even Kroger house brand coffee is like $5 per box of a dozen.
@Commonwealth109
No this is a good kcup price. They were saying the chocolate covered dried cherries could be gotten cheaper.
@CaptAmehrican
Oh yeah, gotcha!
@CaptAmehrican @Commonwealth109 Harry and Davids plant came close to burning up in the fires in Southern Oregon on September 9th.
Gotta love that these have artificial flavors. Even the coffee flavored coffee. Amazing.
K-CUPS ARE THE DEVIL!
Stop buying this devolutionary single use plastic bullsh*t!
@SCHORERT NO. I’m Buying 100 pods of pumpkin spice because I love freedom.
@SCHORERT Also, I’m not really doing that. I use the refillable pods like a smart person.
@enabrintain @SCHORERT Sure, but you can use these up to refill your refillable pod.
@SCHORERT I too use reusable coffee pods but there’s times when you don’t have the time to fumble around with coffee grounds and filter baskets…
I don’t own a pod coffee maker but I picked up k-cups of Starbucks at my grocery store at half off, just to see what I could do with it. I ended up using them in my Bialetti Moka pot. @Boiler3k You ought to be a 2 pot a day drinker like me. Talk about jitters!
@Boiler3k in polite company, we call it a “routine”, not an addiction. And a very pleasant routine at that.
Especially freshly french-pressed coffee using 200° fahrenheit-measured water whilst car-camping on a cool, sunny morning!
For the record, chocolate doesn’t even reach the level of ambivalence for me. I leave that “routine” to my spouse.
@Boiler3k @RedOak

@lizalyo Did you see the daily deal at Meh’s sister site, MorningSave.com?
(click on the picture and it will take you to the site)
It’s only good for today.
Edit: If you happen to miss this, my guess is that MorningSave will still be selling it, but at a higher price.
@Barney Thanks for the heads up! I hadn’t seen it, and even though it was a tad more expensive than the Meh price, I was able to use my Pasta Drop coupon plus get an assorted pack as well. Win/Win! Much appreciated!
FedEx delivered my package to my neighbor. Top notch work considering I used the more expensive version of shipping.

What is with this shipper? My package has been stuck somewhere in my (very small) town for 2 WEEKS waiting to be transferred to the postal service.
