Soft & Sturdy

Take a look at this:

No, that’s not a screen grab from that one Nine Inch Nails video that was nightmare fuel for many millennials in their youth. It’s a picture of one of these things, taken from its Amazon page. Specifically, it’s the ‘sandwich’ sized bag.

And yes, it looks a little weird. Probably, it would look a little weird even if it were empty. But here’s the thing: pretty or not, just this one size of these bags earns a rating of 4.6 out of 5, based on nearly 6,300 reviews.

Pretty wild, right?

Although, actually, no. There’s nothing wild about it. After all, these things give you all of the reusability of Tupperware with none of the rigidity.

Because, really, what’s worse than packing a sandwich for work in a big chunky food container? It takes up your whole lunch bag. Or, what about when you have a little bit of something left over? You know, enough that it makes sense to save, but not enough that it’ll actually fill a Lock & Lock? So you end up filling one a quarter full and letting it take up an outsized portion of valuable fridge real estate?

And yet, the only alternative is, what? To put it in something you’re going to toss in a landfill after one use?

Not anymore it’s not! You can get these. And then, you can have your cake and eat it too!

And by that, we mean: you can have reusability and flexibility.

Probably don’t put cake in one of these. It could get smooshed.
