The challenge is that we deal with finite batches of product that end up existing mostly in our Dallas TX USA warehouse. We own all that a manufacturer has left of many items we feature. Each batch of product has a distinct import/export profile with some having duties paid coming in to the USA such that they are a poor value compared to goods that arrive directly in Europe. Others are simply inefficient to ship over for regular weight/dimensional reasons and thin margins. There can also be tricky costs to figure out due to import taxes at the destination. Each product requires a bunch of research before it could be offered for shipment directly by us to Europe and then you throw out that research and start again the next day.
Now you can use a freight forwarder and take on these challenges yourself. Essentially this is what you'll see from time to time when South Korea buys a bunch of a particular item. This works better than us handling it directly because it's an inconsistent level of interest (not all items are a good deal for them).
I've worked with a few partners with fulfillment and sourcing efforts on the ground in Europe. There was some traction back 5 years ago but I don't think anyone stood out as clearly the leader or killing it on growth. You might check around though to see what pops up in searching.
There are a few categories of goods that do lend themselves to export, such as apparel and I think we'd like to explore that effort again. We set up general international shipping for shirt.woot years ago, for instance.
@snapster I think mail forwarders are the most ideal solution. Maybe try finding one to partner with or a go to one to suggest for folks? I know for Japanese stores everyone uses tenso.
Just saying. If I drive 2 hours south, I am in Alabama. Which is okay-ish. If you're in Europe and drive 2 hours in any direction, you're in another country where they speak another language. Which could be a lot like a trip to Alabama.
I live in Ukraine (you know, it's the poor man's version of Europe) and from time to I order from Meh via freight forwarder with consolidation of packages. Sometimes shipping form US warehouse is even cheaper than Meh -> US warehouse shipping ($5/month)
@Kidsandliz@chienfou thanks for asking, we are fine. Ashamed to admit, but that is mostly because we moved out some time ago. That’s why I also had to stop shopping at meh, as EU has pretty strict import laws.
Time you raised some venture capital and founded meh.eu (that seems deliciously apropos, too!)...
We Canadians, best friends and neighbours (yes, neighboUrs) to the Americans) can't do meh either, unless we cheat and have a nearby US shipping address. Sorry, meh; Montana isn't always buying meh stuff. Sometimes it's me.
As a resident of Europe and soon-to-be-Belgian myself, i do wish there was an option here but I understand the complexities. I still visit the site everyday!
Sigh. Only realizes it’s a necro post after staring things I refuse to take back. My first thought, without checking the date, was wasn’t this discussed ten years ago? Yes. Yes it was
Make your own! le-meh.com is available!

Shirt.meh!

@narfcake Shmehrt.com? I know that's going to come out as a link, but I'm at work and afraid to go down the rabbit hole...
@DaveInSoCal clicked it for you, got a "website not available" message.
@hollboll my hero!

@lich liiiiiiich?
@lichme LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICH!
@carl669 C@ăĄÄÅáãrl! Not I
@lich Don't feel too bad. You are European, after all.
@lumpthar Yeah, @lich. You got that going for you. Which is nice.
@lumpthar sounds awful
@Lotsofgoats I sounds awful? I is awful.

Made me laugh.

@wishod Totally years later but since you said you live in Ukraine are you and your family OK?
@Kidsandliz @wishod
That was exactly my first thought visiting this post.

As a former resident of Europe, I moved to the US so that meh would deliver to me.
Ok… Maybe that’s not why I moved here.
@OnionSoup

@unksol Well, they’re still star-worthy!
@Kyeh yes… But I think @chienfou could be the necromorph
@chienfou @unksol I think a spammer may have revived it and then gotten zapped, but not before @earldanger posted a valid comment, so it stayed up.
@chienfou @Kyeh seems like @earldanger may have been the trap since he no longer exists
There have been a strong spate of attacks on US healthcare in the last couple months.
Change health being the most publicized

If available two factor authentication should always be used. Although that was on their end.
However at the same time if you work for any significant company I would expect you to have a security officer and etc etc. password safes and things
Meh? At worse I would guess a pallet of stuff they don’t want back or a refund. But obviously don’t share passwords at the most basic level
@chienfou @unksol Oh, I just misstyped his name. It’s “earl_danger.” I left out the underscore.
@chienfou @Kyeh @unksol I suspect he didn’t include his last name, Danger, is his middle name.
@chienfou @Kyeh @OnionSoup @unksol But in true Meh tradition, it’s pronounced “dan grr” here.
