SOLO Travel Accessory Bag

We’re not selling this deal anymore, but you can buy it at Amazon
  • Main compartment holds laptops up 15.6", or a transcontinental flight’s worth of magazines, or a small pizza
  • Also known as an Executive Tote Bag, because it apparently works for non-travel situations too
  • Stitched together real nice, like a good Frankenstein
  • Can stand up on its own or loop around your roller bag handle (or hang from your shoulder or hand, in case we need to specify that)
  • Model: VTA811-3 (It looks like VTA means this is in nebulous, we’re-not-committing-to-a-time-period “Vintage” line)

Demographics, shmemographics.

The appearance of today’s purse-like laptop/travel bag is the result of our studies in the field of shmemographics, from the Low Greek for “not caring who your audience is”.

People often assume, not without reason, that we think of ourselves as a gadget store. A geek site. A playground for techies who fit the mostly male, mostly slob stereotype.

Screw that. We look for deals. Good deals on stuff we like. That’s it. We love our existing audience, of course, but we’re out to serve everybody who wants a deal. That’s how we got an audience in the first place.

Shmemographics teaches us that this nice, stylish 15-inch laptop bag is just a nice, stylish 15-inch laptop bag. From the stitching to the hardware, it just looks and feels well-made. It’s easy to get the laptop out for airport security. It can stand on its own, and it’s also got that strap you use to hook onto the handle of your roller bag. If we like it, it seems like somebody else out there will, too.

Data is great for recording what has happened. It knows nothing about what could happen. Demographics might tell you this bag is too feminine, or at least too classy, for our audience. But it fits just fine, shmemographically speaking.
