Cleaning House: a Meh-rathon
LESTER sets his empty teacup down, and ROY leaps to his feet, rounding up the mugs and bringing them over to the sink in the corner.
ROY
Jeez, Les. How long have these dishes been sitting here? Since the 90s or longer?
ROY begins doing all the dishes.
LESTER
(to Sadie)
He’s always like this, isn’t he?
SADIE
(with a laugh)
He hates a mess!
ROY
(doing dishes)
This number cruncher, I need to see him. Can you get me the info?
LESTER
Already done.
LESTER takes a tablet out from under his newspaper. On it, we see security cameras from all over the property. He exits the camera view to a document. He taps a button at the top of the screen, and across the cabin, a printer whirs.
ROY finishes the dishes, shakes his hand, and retrieves the print-out.
While wiping the work laptop of Calvert Harrison, a project manager who recently left his position at the company for a comparable role with a rival, our IT department discovered a Microsoft Word file titled ‘CLEANING_HOUSE_SCREENPLAY_FOR_JS’ as well as several Notepad documents containing phone numbers and email addresses for people with a tertiary connection to Jason Statham. The screenplay was, by all indications, written on company time and therefore, per Calvert’s contract, belongs to us.
