Liquid Image 720p Action Camera Goggles

  • Goggles with a camera built in
  • You have to look closely at the photos to see it, but one goggle style has a basic black frame while the other has a printed pattern around the lens
  • If you have to ask how good either the camera or the goggles are, you’re kind of missing the point
  • But, fine, the camera is 720p with a 136-degree lens and records to SD cards (not included)
  • And the goggles are just standard skiing/motorcycle goggles
  • Model: 384BLK (the product is goofy but this model number is tight, nice work, fellas - maybe when you give up these ridiculous gadget ideas you can start a model-numbering consultancy)

This is our Whopperrito.

Burger King caused a commotion with that Whopperrito, huh? “The ultimate burger-burrito mashup” is such an irresistibly awful/great idea that you just can’t help but get sucked into the promo spiral by commenting on it one way or another. “A Whopper burrito! That’s so (awesome/disgusting)!” That’s how they get you.

Yep, lots of people talking about the Whopperrito. Lots more than will ever eat one.

Which is exactly the point. Fast-food joints don’t do this kind of stunt cookery because they’ll sell a lot of them. They certainly don’t do it out of some sense of culinary curiosity. They do it for attention, for publicity, to get people talking. Every comment, positive or negative, on the Whopperrito is a little commercial for Burger King, a little reminder that they exist.

That’s why fast-food menus are constantly churning, and why novelty items like this have such short lives. Before you have time to realize how gross something is, they’ve replaced it with a new mutant wad of protein that everybody’s talking about.

These Liquid Image Camera Goggles are our Whopperrito. You don’t need them. They’re not especially great, or even inventive. It’s a basic 720p action cam built into a pair of basic goggles. We don’t think we’re going to make a ton of money on them.

But we have to sell something ridiculous like this every once in a while. We have to keep you guessing. We have to make it worth your while to check the site every day, just in case we sell something really cool or really stupid.

And when you’re bored or disappointed, as you will be much of the time, you’ll think “But remember those camera goggles? They were so (cool/stupid)!” That’s how we get you.
