@compunaut snow blindness isn’t much fun…when I’m staring at the snow for hours at a time I’ll spend more money to get goggles from a brand I trust. Plus that camera is probably shit.
@Ignorant I thought these could make a cool gift for family who does cooler stuff on the slopes than I do. The Amazon reviews are pretty craptastic over the camera functionality and battery; although, no one complains much about the tech-less aspects of the goggles. FWIW.
@Alderuen I’m not a big fan ever since they started filling everything with 50% rice, 40% lettuce, and 10% meat flavored product.
The thing that appealed to me about the Wopperrito, it’s not even trying to be Mexican food. It’s middle-America it just happens to be wrapped in a tortilla.
@sp3ar When I first started my company and I was working 20 hour days I used to live in the drive-through. Easy way to gain 100 pounds in the blink of an eye!
Now I only go when they sucker me into trying new stuff like the Whopperrito or the new DQ Philly cheesesteak.
@narfcake Not shilling my “deal” (yes, I am to blame for this limited-use/convergence of tech “deal”), but if you were in zip code 89412 2 days ago, you probably would want these at almost any price. There’s always next year…
Come on, these aren’t pointless, they are the perfect combination of not quite 1080p go pro knockoff and ski goggles. Just too expensive. I’d buy two at today’s price…
They really are just like the whopperito, I like the idea, but after evaluation, I think I should stick with the original.
you would these would sell better in mountains areas, do you think they would be good for paintball??? Just think you could film someone shooting you right in the face. haha
If you have a selfie stick and a styrofoam dummy head laying around (who doesn’t??) you can make a hand-held camera out of this, so it’s pretty versatile.
As an optophobic I love these Liquid Image MODEL 384 - ALL SPORT SNOW & MX GOGGLES!!! Not only do they protect my precious globes from errant fingers and objects… they allow me to record the near misses in 30 fps 720P HD VIDEO!!!
In for 4 in green and of course I got VMP… it never goes for the oculus!!!
@anemones I was reading reviews for these on Amazon; is sounded like the same manufacturer does make a dive mask. (Reviewer bought this variety after already owning the water variety.)
I bought a pair from liquid image for snow sports. Terrible idea. The camera isn’t bad but the engineering and support is terrible. They use a proprietary USB cable for charging. I couldn’t get a charge after the third use. Support recommended I buy a new battery. That didn’t work. But somehow I could still connect to my Mac. Disconnect and the goggles would go dark. After no response from them after several emails I gave up and threw the goggles into the back of the closet
So in the weekend poetry slam from the email, what in the heck are woodchuck and duck snapping? Or are they just thinking snap snap snap snap? A video of this would help.
Tempting. My brother-in-law would like this for his motorcycle. On the other hand, he has a new car and has not rode his bike in months. Plus, there’s a chance he may sell it to cover the car costs. Decisions, Decisions.
Clearly, or only 720p clear, the Whopporito sucks! I never even heard of such until today. Who buys burgers trying to be burritos? Especially from Birger King. That’s like buying meat from Food Lion.
I got my Liquid Vision goggles last week and over the weekend tried them for their intended purpose, capturing a motorcycle ride through the countryside. I have a link…
I found the goggles bulky and it took me a while to figure out how to wear them with my helmet. The best way I found was to put them on after my helmet was on and put the strap around the back of the helmet. The goggles settled into position better this way, however they tend to get pushed down onto my nose by the helmet. My helmet is a half helmet - legal DOT. I can ride like this quite awhile, but it’s a relief to take them off.
The video is decent, although youtube compress it so the quality is better than what you see in the link. The sound is good, not too much wind noise and it’s much better than mounting a camera on the bike’s crash guards which I had done previously. There’s no Jello effect and I like that it looks where I turn my head to look, although obviously it can’t respond to eye movement. (so you may think I’m not turning my head far enough.)
The construction quality is very good. I still have to figure out how to remove the goggle lens (not the camera lens). The battery seems well secured and of a decent size. The hatch cover for the USB and Micro SD interface is well secured but when it’s opened is very free and always seems to want to close before I can connect a cable or replace the card. It’s all good though, I am very pleased with my purchase and MEH’s price of $30 is a great value.
I hope this is helpful if the goggles come up again in MEH. I found it a great value.

Ski now picture that --meh is horsing around tonight it seems–
@AttyVette
Like the last thing I need is evidence that my skiing mishaps were 100% my fault.
@MehnofLaMehncha Yes, I have GoPro footage of crashing hard… But if you’re not challenging yourself you’re not really trying.
That would look awesome in the grocery store.
/giphy in for two
@stinks Looking back, these would work even better as a dash cam…
X-Ray specs and I’m im for a set
Who remembers the ads in the back of old comics for “automatic mind control”?
My mom would never let me order the do-it-yourself hovercraft or personal submarine. Hold that against her to this day.
Revolutionizing my “No Man’s Sky” playthrough uploads.
I’d be in for a couple of those if they were smaller like racquetball glasses. Those are way too large unless you’re skiing.
@cengland0
Racquetballs wear glasses??
Need new goggles, but I’ll pass on these.
@Ignorant Why?
@compunaut Maybe they don’t want video evidence of what they’re going to use them for?

I actually like the Wopperrito…
@ruouttaurmind it was surprisingly good. I mean, it ain’t no taco bell but it was good
@ruouttaurmind i hold back buying burger king everytime I get to my car after a day of work been years
@Alderuen I’m not a big fan ever since they started filling everything with 50% rice, 40% lettuce, and 10% meat flavored product.

@ruouttaurmind
/giphy burger king jalapeno poppers
that was my guilty pleasure with chicken tender sandwiches
@ruouttaurmind +1 star! The lettuce shit pisses me off sooo much…
…these are absolutely useless for margaritas.
after a few margaritas, maybe.
@alacrity A pair of beer goggles!
/giphy beer goggles
@compunaut exactly- then the question is “do I really want video documentation of that?”
Bought these on woots for like $80. Lost the battery almost right away, cause if lil door opens, it just falls out
@username nows your chance to buy another battery for $30
@username did you get any video before you lost the battery? ELI5 What quality is it ?
@lenea9011 I reckon it is about “30FPS @ 720p (1280 x 720)” quality.
/giphy sarcastic prick
@lenea9011 yeah, it was average quality.
BTW the battery was also some generic Nokia phone type, which I also had extra of.
I’m trying to think what was sold here that was an even more limited-use/convergence of tech … and I can’t think of one.
@narfcake
/giphy segway

Tempting… If I was more active… Almost had me!
Me too, I thought the Wopperrito was yummy yummy in my tummy…

@mehdaf Agreed. Good price point for a 2-fer. Way too much for 1.
5MP. For that alone, meh.
My thoughts exactly on the Whopperrito. Good job BK, good job.
you would these would sell better in mountains areas, do you think they would be good for paintball??? Just think you could film someone shooting you right in the face. haha
Oh man these things are brilliant for shows – Chapelle will never suspect a thing!
Why would I purchase this when I can get the Oakley Airwave 1.5 for a pidly $649?!
/giphy basic math
If I wear two of these does it make it 3D?
@SkyyPunk Only if you have 4 eyes. So if you wear glasses, yes.
If you have a selfie stick and a styrofoam dummy head laying around (who doesn’t??) you can make a hand-held camera out of this, so it’s pretty versatile.
If there’s anything I’ve learned from infomercials is you have to price the cool/stupid stuff at $19.95 to get people to buy anyway.
@Jetlag “But, WAIT!! There’s MORE!”…
I’m actually OK with a funky looking cube stuck on the top of my helmet/head.
As an optophobic I love these Liquid Image MODEL 384 - ALL SPORT SNOW & MX GOGGLES!!! Not only do they protect my precious globes from errant fingers and objects… they allow me to record the near misses in 30 fps 720P HD VIDEO!!!

If it’d fit over eyeglasses, which doesn’t seem to be the case.
@juststephen If it fit over eyeglasses I’d totally add to my nearly useless camera collection at that price.
A. I could use these to make lousy youtube videos of <tech> teardowns?
B. The smoke alarm went off at 12:30 so I checked meh. Meh. I hope I can get back to sleep.
/giphy I can’t see through to purchasing this deal unless perhaps it was a tuesday
What a great way to secretly record your life.
Just hope no one notices you walking around all the time wearing goggles…
If I didn’t already have a few “action cameras” that haven’t captured any action, I’d buy one.
What’s going on in Idaho that makes them need so many of these?
@jibbyjam1 I’m betting ski trips into Montana
@Perkalicious Whys wrong with skiing in Idaho? Sun Valley, Schweitzer, Tamarack…
Liquid Image goggles. 8 dudes, 1 girl.
Unsee that.
So is this just for like skiing and motorcycle riding? I don’t do either of those things.
@Dizavid I believe these are also good for catching the looks of shock and amusement you get as you go streak the local mall or what-have-you.
@Dizavid Safety goggles also useful in a number of crafts that folk might want to show off.
my bones crunch a bit too loud for these, but I forwarded them to everyone These seem the most far-out, coolest things.
I’d pay dollars for a snorkel mask with a built-in cam…
@anemones I was reading reviews for these on Amazon; is sounded like the same manufacturer does make a dive mask. (Reviewer bought this variety after already owning the water variety.)
I have no interest in these, but honestly I wish you guys would sell stuff like this more often.

Can you wear them in the shower?
Perfect for my off road adventures…in addition to a chest mounted Garmin VIRB. Backup footage of awesomeness FTW!

Dude totally stoked for this man cant wait for snow and totally hang 10 on some gnarly slopes

@pinkdog people cutting carbs, burger king is around 15 years late to the wrap game tho…
@JasonToon Mutant wad of protein
I got my goggles, charged them to a green light, and they won’t turn on. Looks like the battery won’t hold a charge. Anyone else having this problem?
@pgallo22 Just tried mine out for the first time this week (yes, months later…). I do have the same problem. Battery is complete dud.
