Because it does exactly what it claims to do. You pop a pod in, and a little while later, a cup of coffee comes out.
That’s it. That’s all there is to it.
And that’s what we love about it too, by the way. The straightforwardness. Because implicit in that straightforwardness is something the snobs never want to admit: that not everything needs to be amazing. Some stuff can just be functional.
Sometimes you just want an ice-cold, totally basic pilsner at a cookout. And sometimes you want to go to a not-too-crowded restaurant so you can catch up with a friend. And sometimes the movie or the book is just to kill some time and help you forget about work, and the best way to cook a burger is to drive through a nearby fast food place because, hey, no effort and no dishes!
Likewise, sometimes you just need a cup of coffee and you don’t want to work for it.
