More than you bargained floor! (sorry)

You might look around at different Braavas (Braavi?) and see that there’s one called the 380t and a newer, lower-sticker-price one called Braava Jet 240. So what the hell is this one we’re selling, the 375t? Lest ye be confused, let us break it down for you in the terms we understand best: which floorbot lets us be lazier.

Because that’s why people use these. If you’re looking for the absolute cleanest floors, you’ll be on your knees with a sponge and a bucket. A good enough job for zero effort is good enough for zero-effort people like us.

First, all of these Braava models wipe wet or dry, with either disposable or reusable pads.

OK, so our 375t is the version of the 380t made for Costco. It’s white instead of black and comes with some extra cleaning pads. So far, so simple.

Then along came the new Braava Jet 240, which is different from the one we’re selling. The big differences are the sticker price and how much turf they cover.

The 375t, the one we’re selling, can wet mop up to 350 square feet, and dry wipe up to 1,000. The Braava Jet tops out at 150 sq. ft. wet and 200 dry. That’s a lot of turf left unmopped.

iRobot themselves, in their own model comparison, say the 375t is for “multiple rooms and large spaces” while the Jet 240 is only “for kitchens, bathrooms, and other small areas.” The 375t has a more sophisticated navigation system, which has something to do with the 375t’s “Navigation Cube”. We can’t find much information about that, so we’ll just assume it’s enchanted.

In other words, the Jet 240 is a dumbed-down, scaled-down, stripped-down version of the 375t we’re selling today. To be fair, the Jet does have a couple of other features: an extra cleaning mode, a little squirty jet thing on the front. But fat lot of good that’ll do on all that unmopped real estate.

And since the Jet doesn’t come with reusable cleaning cloths the way the 375t does, you would have to pay $20 for a pack of those, or buy the proprietary pricey disposable ones. So the Jet isn’t quite the bargain it seems. That lower price comes at a price.

Ah, but price is the crux of the matter, isn’t it? The Braava 375t covers more ground than the Braava Jet because it’s so much more expensive, right? Not today. Not here.

More ground covered for a lower effective price equals more laziness for your money. We could figure out exactly how many cents per square feet that comes out to, but we’re too lazy.
