Can super glue the thread, after you build a third hand out of coat hangers to get the tread back on the wheel tracks. That's the design problem. Wheels aren't accessible. Only 1/4 of the wheel shows, axle pivots only a couple of degrees. Had the machine in a vice, shoved rags in the wheel housing to keep it from spinning, and then had to use needle nose pliers with my coat hanger contraption to re-thread the tread.
Ours couldn't sense the boundary between carpet and hardwood. Got stuck between stool legs. Way easier to just mop with the Bona thingy.
Wife insisted on blowing a BB&B gift card on this thing. Way more aggravation than just rolling up your sleeves and using a little elbow grease.
These are the best!!! Being a single person with an active social life I never have time to dust, this does the trick for me! I picked up a couple more as spares and of course I got VMP... such a value!!!
@justinjones41 What I like about this is the cats are re-usable, last a long time, and, when you do need replacements, they are very affordable. Maintenance is another matter.
Just got my old Roomba out of storage and gave it a fresh battery after waffling and missing out on the Neato a few weeks ago. I put the Roomba back to work and my fiancee loved it and said "If only we could get one to mop too."
notable-tolerable-circle... nothing good. On to other business.
Alright meh, I bought one of these damned robots. Far as I'm concerned, you still owe me from a certain prank laden 1st of the month tom fukery that went on. You know where I'll be, bring it on ding dong.
the roomba vac i get because in theory i can run it on a program with only occasional bin emptying and brush de-hairing.
But this thing, where I have to find and attach and remove the wet cloth every use? that's like 80% of the work of wet swiffering, dealing with the drippy cloth at the start and the gunky cloth at the end. Actually pushing the swiffer around is painless.
Am I missing something, or does this automate only the non-annoying part of swiffering?
@zippyus let me tell you a story about the mint Braava...
One day I was at bestbuy killing some time and I wandered into the weird part... ya know the area where they sell washers and blenders and the like and I saw a irobot Braava 380t for $149.99. I looked it up on amazon and saw that this price was pretty low compared to what amazon wanted and convinced myself that I would get it for an elderly relative with all hardwood floors.
So I took it home and of course I had to try it out to see how it worked (was intrigued by the navigation since the other irobot products were so random).
Long story short, I kept it because it is good at wet mopping the hardwood floors and I am supremely lazy and like gizmos.
I don't think I've ever used the dry sweep mode... and I am not even sure if the one meh is selling here comes with the "Pro-Clean Reservoir Pad" but that is all I use it for...
@zippyus just toss either (wet or dry) of the pads in the wash after each use. Someone thought it wise to include 3 of each with this model so your Braava wont have to wait on your laundry schedule to keep on doing its duty. And yes, i did just say duty!
@wootcat it sorta moves in on them until it can't move then backs up a bit and moves forward... the end result is that goes around it eventually... light rugs might get pushed.
I got a Mint/Brava 320 two years ago (the no reservior model) and love it. It mops the kitchen and bath and sweeps the wood floors in the rest of the house. 2/3 yard of a yard of fleece from a fabric store yielded 15 sweeping cloths that can be laundered and work better than dry Swifter cloths.
I love my Scooba. Just used it again yesterday. I dislike mopping as I always feel I'm just pushing around dirty water. It does a decent job and it's satisfying (also a little gross) to dump out the 'dirty' reservoir after each cycle.
I've had a Roomba as well and never cared for it as it required too much maintenance, particularly for one like me with allergies. But still using my faithful Scooba.

@thismyusername This was enjoyable/apt background for forum & research browsing. This Dafft-punke might have a knack for this.
..
Don't do it!!
Fairly significant design flaw
Rubber comes off the wheels, and you can't get it back on without restoring the housing.
Happens to all of the moppers, sooner or later. So you're basically renting this, not buying it.
@MehnofLaMehncha I've had a 380t for a couple years now and not had this issue... is it something unique to this model?
@MehnofLaMehncha Looks like you can super glue the treads like an rc racecar if this issue presents itself.

Still no
Don't be a square... Get a roomba.
Mopping robot? Wtf
Clean sweep tonight'
“More than you bargained floor!”
Never apologize for a pun. Sleep with the sword.
Well...I can honestly say this deal doesn't suck.
Valar morghulis
Fine. You've broken me. Bring back the Chromebooks.
Braavo
Isn't this a MINT?
@DonDonSu iRobot bought Evolution Robotics (makers of the mint) in 2012 and re-branded it as the Braava line.
I wish it could wash my car. Don't care about the floor
Tempted, but I just got s replacement battery for my Roomba 418 I bought from woot in 2008 and now it's better than ever.

Do any buildings even have 375 floors?
What about a model than will mop floors 1 and 2 for starters?
Want iRobot Braava 1st Floor Mooping Reboot. Call when it's in stock, please.
@mike808 Having trouble mooping, are we?
If meh sells 100 of these, it will be a miracle
@mcemanuel
2:40AM. 315 sold. Next up: locust plagues.
@JustinWG Final talley, 366 at $194.
They made a robo-Swiffer?
Just got my old Roomba out of storage and gave it a fresh battery after waffling and missing out on the Neato a few weeks ago. I put the Roomba back to work and my fiancee loved it and said "If only we could get one to mop too."
waterproof-unhealthy-nymph. Great timing, Meh.
I'd like to make friends with someone in central Pennsy. that bought one of these. Maybe you could bring it over and I could try it out.
notable-tolerable-circle... nothing good. On to other business.

@apocalypse
Not bad

@thismyusername yes, it comes with the Pro-clean reservoir pad, which you fill with water to automatically feed the wet mooping pad
@Jdub I use hardwood cleaning fluid (against the manuals advice) with great results.
@Jdub how often do you need to swap out the pad?
@zippyus just toss either (wet or dry) of the pads in the wash after each use. Someone thought it wise to include 3 of each with this model so your Braava wont have to wait on your laundry schedule to keep on doing its duty. And yes, i did just say duty!
ive had one for years, it fits the wet swiffer cloths and is a persistent little bastard. it goes where i dare not even look
How do these work with floors with area rugs? Would it avoid them?
@wootcat it sorta moves in on them until it can't move then backs up a bit and moves forward... the end result is that goes around it eventually... light rugs might get pushed.

@spiralroad pretty sure that if you wantet to damp mop, you can use the Pro-clean reservoir accessory on your older 320 model. But it's extra $
@Jdub Thanks. Mine mops well as is, but kitchen & bath are small.
I really like this thing.
I shouldn't have bought this because I need to put my Jeep in the shop, but my whole house is hardwood and this would definitely save me some time
MEH. Who needs this? Dogs are better at the job and they keep the feet warm, too.
I love my Scooba. Just used it again yesterday. I dislike mopping as I always feel I'm just pushing around dirty water. It does a decent job and it's satisfying (also a little gross) to dump out the 'dirty' reservoir after each cycle.

This makes me sad.
i want to buy this next time
Mine arrived yesterday. This thing is quiet and is pretty cool.
