A La Mode

What we’ve got here is a 2-pack of cool antique-looking lanterns that runs on 4 (not included) AA batteries. But, the best thing about them is they feature 2 modes. In the first, the lantern acts like, well, a typical electric lantern. But in the second, the LED light will actually simulate flames!

Now, if you’re concerned, we understand. An extra mode might be exciting, but it can also be stressful. What if you use the wrong mode for a given situation? That’s why we put together this handy little starter guide:

Use the above-pictured mode #1 for situations such as:

• When you’re camping, and you need to find something in your tent in the middle of the night.

• When there’s a power outage.

• When you realize after dark that you forgot something out on the deck.

Use the above-pictured mode #2 for situations such as:

• When Henrietta inevitably drops her pick during the Mumford & Sons “midnight uke-along” and needs help finding it.

• To add a little ambiance to the secret farm-to-table restaurant your friend Crispin runs out of a restored barn south of Portland (Oregon or Maine; doesn’t matter).

• So that customers can keep browsing the fedora shop you set up every year at Mountain Jam late into the evening.

Of course, these are just a few scenarios, but we’re hopeful they’re illustrative enough to serve as a guide when using your two adorable new lanterns!
