Know Where Stuff Is

The other day, I left my earbuds in the laundry room, and my cat found them. Possessing the feline urge to play with things and ruin lives, she managed to bat one of the buds into a pile of clothing.

Now, I don’t have Apple Find My set up, but luckily, the bud was still paired with my phone. That means, once I was able to eliminate all interfering noises–which meant unplugging the freezer (which I remembered to plug back in right away) and turning down the air conditioning (which I didn’t remember to turn back on until later in the evening when I was like, “Why is it so hot in here?”) and turning off the dehumidifier (which I’m realizing, as I type this, I never turned back on)–I was able to crank the volume on a particularly guitar-shreddy song (this one) and hear my way to it.

(And yes, @troy, this does mean I found it; you won’t be receiving one of my Slack messages about, hey, random thought, wouldn’t it be cool if we sold Anker earbuds for cheap again?)

Would a couple of KEYSMART SmartCards have helped me find my earbuds? Nope. So then what does any of this have to do with them?

It’s simple: losing small but important stuff sucks.

Your wallet is not as small as an earbud. But, on the other hand, it’s roughly two thousand times more important. You lose your earbuds, and what are you supposed to do to occupy your mind while you wash the dishes or ride the bus? Think about things? Annoying, but doable.

If, on the other hand, you can’t find your wallet before you leave the house? That means, in a lot of cases, you can’t leave the house. You’ll be stuck shopping online only, assuming your card information is saved on your computer/phone. (In which case, perhaps check out the SideDeal-Palooza going on right now on SideDeal, featuring everything from snacks to solar panels.)

But that won’t happen with these. You put one in your wallet and then you can open an app and see where your wallet is on a map, or even make it ring. You can also set these up to work with Apple Find My. And you don’t need to worry about it running out of batteries; one charge lasts months.

Pretty rad, huh?

In conclusion, you can also use these to keep track of luggage, which is not small, but also annoying to lose.
