@werehatrack@onionsoup@blaineg For what it’s worth, my last name is Buchet. And I assure you had my daughter been a son his name would have been Tre. - edit… she built two before she was 8. Lincoln Logs are more accurate than you think Some kids want screen time… my kid was about siege machines
@blaineg@Kyeh@OnionSoup@werehatrack Mayhaps When she built the first one and launched a Lincoln log across the basement (it was designed for Ping-Pong balls) and she struck a picture frame and knocked it over. I was about to get my dad voice on, but then I took a moment and thought about the fact that she built that, and did that… and honestly, it was pretty awesome. Nothing was broken so instead of going dad-mode, I righted the picture frame, smiled and said, “let’s work on the aim” Not too long after she was a softball pitcher
@blaineg@Kyeh@OnionSoup@werehatrack I have my moments. On both ends of the spectrum… but I love being a dad. She is almost 17 and still talking to me So that’s a win. But I’m still learning.

@narfcake A lieutenant asked a friend of mine what the RTFMA sticker on his duty locker meant. He replied “Read The Furnished Materials, Sir”
I’m more afraid of people who never learned how to drive, but are out there Driving!
/showme someone driving who doesn’t know how to drive
@mediocrebot And that looks like it could be a Renault Pluriel, a vehicle useful only as trebuchet ammunition.
@mediocrebot @werehatrack I’d watch that.
/showme a Renault Pluriel being launched in the air by a trebuchet
/showme medieval invaders attacking a castle by catapulting Renault Pluriels at the wall.

PANS! GLANDS! CRAYONS! AWESOME!
@blaineg @capnjb @OnionSoup @werehatrack She’s a pretty lucky girl to have a dad who can look beyond minor annoyances and see and encourage her talents!
