@IndifferentDude@Kidsandliz I’ve always wondered if there are Smart-finder things that work with Android. Do you know about that stuff? It would’ve been handy the last time American lost my luggage and Alaska Air found it with their stuff
Does anyone else think ‘Find My’ is the silliest sounding name for an app?? Couldn’t they just add another word there, like ‘device’? I get it’s probably a catch-all for iPhone, iPad, iPod, etc. but in common usage it just sounds so stupid. Calling it the ‘Find My app’ makes it sound like an app for finding other apps.
@PooltoyWolf A little silly, though it can also incorporates the old Find My Friends app so stuff, devices, things wouldn’t work in that context. Also Apple has a frustrating tendency to name things ambiguously (eg Mail, Music, Calendar).
@j4yx0r IDGI, then, because I find changing the batteries in a TrackR to be pretty easy, for all that it has to be done way too often IMO. Maybe the company might have had more success if they had powered the device with a CR2032 instead of the CR2016.
@xobzoo for some reason they aren’t cheaper here on Meh…items are usually more expensive on SideDeal than they are here on Meh. They’d be cheaper for me (or any VMP) on SideDeal using code “VMP” at checkout.
Don’t knock the seemingly useless trakr devices that went out with some IRKs. They had some good scavengable components on the board like a power diode and lots of 0402 resistors and capacitors.
@Kyeh Heck I know that. Likely some have even more than me. BUT…Maybe we have found the person who can use a zillion of them. The pasta drop of trackrs only all are sent to the same person. Hmm now how do we get the address?
My mind is still on “Baby’s First Sideburns” and surprisingly, I kinda liked it! It’s just not usually my genre. But… It seems to be somewhere between head banger and not! I’m usually more partial to not!
I got these in an IRK a few months ago, but was not able to get them to work with Android… I have other keysmart devices that do work, but the same app that worked with those didn’t work with these, and I could not find any apps that do…
I’m travelling overseas soon. If this gets delivered in time, then it will be a perfect addition to my slimmed-down wallet for that trip. Even if it dies after a few months… it would still have been worth it just for the peace of mind during the trip.
I bought these sometime back seeing “keysmart” and thinking they were tile compatible like their other keysmart stuff. They’re not tile compatible and this not Android compatible.
Which is a bit of a bummer because as far as trackers go, these are literally credit card thinness. They’re the thinness trackers I’ve ever had. And the battery is rechargable. Wireless qi charging so it doesn’t really matter that it’s sealed. There’s a secret button on it also that you can squeeze to make it ring your phone also.
So all in all, a well designed product for apple but don’t buy it for your Android or you’ll be sad like me.

My wallet is brown so sadly I cannot use these.
@yakkoTDI So paint your wallet Georgia red.
@werehatrack Still wouldn’t work as this is a Black wallet tracker.
Not for Android??![:astonished:](https://dj5zo597wtsux.cloudfront.net/joypixels/assets/6.6/png/unicode/64/1f632.png)

@PooltoyWolf
/showme a better name for the “find my” app
@mediocrebot
I read that as “locator bacon” at first.
@PooltoyWolf A little silly, though it can also incorporates the old Find My Friends app so stuff, devices, things wouldn’t work in that context. Also Apple has a frustrating tendency to name things ambiguously (eg Mail, Music, Calendar).
@jst1ofknd @mediocrebot when does this locator bacon go on sale?
@jst1ofknd @mediocrebot @Yeknomgod And is it uncured bacon?
@jst1ofknd @PooltoyWolf how may fingers
@PooltoyWolf I think it was originally “Find my phone”, and when more junk was added they just chopped off the last word.
Probably paid a consultant millions for that idea.
@PooltoyWolf I could imagine some fun alternatives to “Find my”
“Here I am”
“Here we are”
Even “find out”
@blaineg ‘Find my iPhone’ was the name I remember from before I made the switch to Android way back when.

“WEALTHIER ONE” is more likely the correct answer!
Maybe if you don’t know where you are, buying more crap to lose isn’t in your best interest?
@Tadlem43 Thete you are.
So trackrs that have been run over by a steam roller?
@OnionSoup This one’s battery is probably easier to replace.
@j4yx0r @OnionSoup Wireless rechargeable even!
@j4yx0r @OnionSoup Sealed, battery is very difficult to replace.
@OnionSoup @werehatrack That’s the joke.
@j4yx0r IDGI, then, because I find changing the batteries in a TrackR to be pretty easy, for all that it has to be done way too often IMO. Maybe the company might have had more success if they had powered the device with a CR2032 instead of the CR2016.
Bought these last time around, 4-6 weeks ago? Working as advertised in my laptop sleeve. Behaves identically to AirTag, but steamroller compatible.
Haven’t seen a battery alert yet.
Did these “sell out” on SideDeal so that we could see them here on Meh?
@xobzoo for some reason they aren’t cheaper here on Meh…items are usually more expensive on SideDeal than they are here on Meh. They’d be cheaper for me (or any VMP) on SideDeal using code “VMP” at checkout.
Tile Slim has entered the chat
@xarophti “3-year sealed non-replaceable batteries”
What a scam.
@blaineg “Apple Find My”
Don’t knock the seemingly useless trakr devices that went out with some IRKs. They had some good scavengable components on the board like a power diode and lots of 0402 resistors and capacitors.
@yicadie if only they were 0401 resistors, amirite?
@yicadie Well for postage I have about 80 or so I can send you.
@Kidsandliz
You and everybody else.
@Kyeh Heck I know that. Likely some have even more than me. BUT…Maybe we have found the person who can use a zillion of them. The pasta drop of trackrs only all are sent to the same person. @Kidsandliz @Kyeh We need a conspirator with access to inside information. Alas, it is not likely that one will appear.
@Kidsandliz @Kyeh Ugh. You just reminded me that I still have like 3 pounds of f**ing linguini in the pantry.
@j4yx0r @Kidsandliz I’ll trade you some Trakrs for it.
It’s probably still fine.
@j4yx0r @Kyeh Did you buy the pasta or were you a “victim” of the pasta drop?
My mind is still on “Baby’s First Sideburns” and surprisingly, I kinda liked it! It’s just not usually my genre. But… It seems to be somewhere between head banger and not!![:thinking:](https://dj5zo597wtsux.cloudfront.net/joypixels/assets/6.6/png/unicode/64/1f914.png)

I’ll buy it if it can find the guy in the last picture.
Just remembering that I ordered one of these they were sold a month or two ago. I just realized they never arrived. The irony.

@justdave88 The lack of Android app compatibility is baked into this device, apparently. Damn shame, that.
Maximum operational range from app to card?
