@trisk Funny, every year we try to go somewhere different on our ski trip. The first thing my buddy and I do when we hit the market is visit the chip aisle to find what unique brands and flavors they have. At least Ruffles has been kind enough to periodically bring All Dressed chips down from Canada.
@cinoclav Gibbles had an everything or all dressed long ago that was the best if you found a bag with extra helping af flavoring on them. I can’t remember the exact name but I remember trolling everywhere for the purple bags.
@speediedelivery I bought my CX-5 at Champion in Hanover. The two hour drive was worth it, not just for the phenomenal deal I got, but the fact that I immediately drove right next door and filled the back of it up at the Utz outlet. A few months later, my gf totaled her car. I persuaded her to buy a Mazda 3. Not just for the fact that it’s a great car for the money, but it gave me the chance to go back to the outlet. Yeah, Utz is pretty great.
@Nuurgle Kettle chips are the best but boy, oh boy, do not look at the nutrition label. Chips are bad enough but when you compare the traditional to its kettle counterpart, the guilt can be overwhelming at times.
Wavy Lays dipped in Daisy Sour Cream piled with El Pinto Green Chile Sauce and fresh pico de gallo (50/50 mix), diet A&W Root Beer on the side. That’s what I’m planning to have for Christmas lunch.
My brother and his wife gave out some special brand of chips from Cinti at each of their kids’ weddings, including the weddings 600 miles from Cinti. Forget the brand, but they were great.
So good that someone broke into a packed car and stole only a case of these chips. Nothing else.
The key is chip dip. It enhances any chip. Elevates the alright to excellence.
I like all kinds, but I have a fondness for those with jalapeño flavoring.
Cooked in lard. Every once in a while you get that little squirt of it when it’s caught in a chip pocket. Yummmmm
@cinoclav No "If"s, "And"s or "But"s, it’s got to be (Grandma) Utz.
@cinoclav I answered “They’re all great”, but your description is making me reconsider. Ick.
Computer chips are the best.
@TheCO2
Yum.
@TheCO2 They byte.
I chose “They’re all great” but what I really meant was “except for baked”.
@awk And pringles. Those two do not qualify as potato chips therefore all is correct.
You left out eaten.
I can not find any decent chips anymore(usually like BBQ). Anyone remember Cajun spice Ruffles?
Baked Ruffles… you scoff, but I can down bags of them at a time. There’s nothing “healthy” about them.
Why are the standard chip flavours in other countries almost always way tastier than the ones you find Stateside?

@trisk I check the chip aisle anytime I am somewhere away from home.
I live near an Utz facility. Overall they are my current favorite. Troyer brand was nearby but they moved away.

I really usta like Jay’s with the pustules of grease in them They’d squish when you chomped them. AH! getting zits just thinking of them.
@Cranky1950 Like the Grandma Utz I posted above! Sooo goood.
Ripple if I’m dipping, otherwise baked. Flavor is the goal, not grease.
Ballreich’s Original Marcelled are by far the best potato chip ever!
@berosu Care to ship me some, I don’t think they’re available in PA.
@berosu My Cousin agrees, but she can’t buy them in Indiana. she has to sneak across the border into OH to get them.
I normally get her a couple bags at each family gathering
@berosu Learned something today since you forced me to look it up, now I know it means to be “marcelled”.
I am sure for those that have used a curling iron already knew it, but I had never heard of it before.
@DrWorm
It’s the kind of female hairstyle you see in 20’s films and on Downton Abbey.
@berosu they really are fantastic, my fav is the "Smokey Sweet Mesquite"
almost meh
The flavor, not the manner of production, is the operative part for me. Anything vinegar, cheddar, or onion flavored is
For anything with a flavoring, I want Classic. Plain chips, I prefer Kettle. Ripple is only for if the chips are plain AND there is dip involved.
@Nuurgle Kettle chips are the best but boy, oh boy, do not look at the nutrition label. Chips are bad enough but when you compare the traditional to its kettle counterpart, the guilt can be overwhelming at times.
@elimanningface I’ve never met a nutrition label that I actually cared about when it comes to snack choices.
I picked kettle, since they are thickerer and tend to have more flavorer in my experience, but truly, pretzels are betterer.
@baqui63 Your teeth are clearly better than mine. Both those are too hard for me.

pork skin chips.
(aka pork rinds. aka chicharron. aka heaven)

@f00l Grippo’s?
@cinoclav
That could be it.
Whatever they were, they were good.
@f00l Now there are just too many brands I want to try. That one seems to be the Cincinnati local brand.
These. Sadly though they haven’t been made since I think the mid-90’s. They were the only chip I really liked.
Sterzings, mmmmmmmm
@KevinK Get your mouth’s grease coating on with these chips. Delish!
@KevinK I tried those once since everyone always said how good they were… ended up giving away the rest of the bag. Don’t like their popcorn either.
@msklzannie They grow on you. They’re from my wife’s hometown. First time I tried them, gross. Now I’m a convert. I guess after 28 years of marriage…
Popped obviously…
does “in my belly” count as a style of chip?
/giphy fat bastard get in my belly

Oh no, is this poll a pre-mature posting?
That can only mean one thing…
more microwave chip trays.
Covered in BBQ sauce. . . but not bbq chips.
Whatever Jimmy John’s BBQ chips are. They are glorious.
