This isn’t funny. I lived in Broward for many years. Parkland was where I went every month for local horse shows for a long time. I have friends that went to this school. My brother has friends that have kids that were at the school.
This is the kind of stuff that needs to stay off meh.
@RiotDemon It was more in the vein of bitter hatred for the cowards that didn’t do the right thing when they had the chance and the obligation to do so. No one is laughing.
People use humor as a release mechanism. This joke isn’t about the victims, it’s about the way things were handled. Making light of terrible events can be an entirely understandable coping strategy. Freud argued that sick jokes were the mechanism by which the ego “insists that it cannot be affected by the traumas of the external world”. Personally, I thought the joke was funny.
